Lived on post at Ft. Sam Houston 1968-71 when I was a kid. Loved San Antonio and have nothing but fond memories of the place. When they worked The Alamo into the plot of Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, I wondered if they wrote it just for me.

Is it lazy folks that work in service industry. In mississippi they are worst. All have an attitude and treat you like you bothering them. WTF happened to friendly service. They take their sweet time and if you make mistake to say you in hurry. That makes them slow down. They are miserable and want company. I avoid. I go self checkout whenever possible and no more fast food. Haf to get my tires rotated. After them ignoring me waiting to get service. I decided. Forget tires

I lived in SA 20 long years and as soon as I retired I left for good. The town is boring, the weather is hot and humid and the culture ..you either “belong” on not. My son lives there and loves it.

Currently living in Kallison Ranch. Absolutely love it, traffic can be horrendous though lol. Great video man.

We moved from Vancouver, WA to New Braunfels, TX when my wife finally retired. (8 years after I retired.) When planning for where we wanted to move, we discussed several options. First requirement, the cold and snow/ice. We wanted that to be near zero. Second, income tax, that definitely needed to be zero. Three, affordability. We had lived in San Antonio back in 1984, and I remember visiting New Braunfels' Landa Park during the Summer. Even though it was hot, the breeze was nice and made it quite comfortable. So, we set up a visit during the hottest time of year. So, we went In August, 2017...oops. Hurricane Harvey hit those days. Temp was in the 80's, but a very wet 80's. A bit windy too. But, the impact to New Braunfels was just a warm rainy day. Did some model home touring, and found prices nearly $100 K less than what our home was worth for the equivalent square footage. So we came back the next year and it was hot, but just as I remembered from when we lived in San Antonio. House prices were stable. So we decided to move to New Braunfels. Taxes were about the same, but we had the ability to homestead and were seniors, thus property taxes were lowered. Both retired, so traffic, eh..we did not need to go out during rush hour. By the way, compared to Portland, OR traffic or Seattle's, really no big deal anyway.

The 1604/Culebra area is really nice. It's close to a lot of stores, shops and entertainment, but the neighborhoods are away from all the extra traffic and people. Traffic can get ridiculous. I love it on the westside. It's really its own little town. You don't have to leave to westside for much.

Be careful with the “property taxes outside of city limits in Bexar county! I live in west Bexar county outside of city limits, however my kids are zoned for Medina Valley ISD so I get the double whammy of paying taxes to BOTH counties! No one knew this at closing so I had a nice fat escrow shortage after my first year - make sure to ask before closing!

I love Texas! San Antonio?....ummm not so much. After 3 yrs here....I'm leaving at the end of the month to country land in Fl. Rents & house prices keep going up and up but jobs keep.paying the same low wages. I had to get a work from home with a NYC based company in order to afford the costs in a comfortable manner, not luxury living but decent, safe neighborhood. And YES the traffic is INSANE!! And I'm from NYC🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

It is beautiful, but there are so many negative reviews about Perry Homes. They were also sued and had to pay 7 mil. What gives?

I found something interesting about SA. I can live for a month in an Extended Stay American place in SA for a month less than rent in a studio Apartment in Los Angeles County. This means I can go to SA and stay for a month for about the same as a month in Los Angeles County without committing to an apartment lease. For a single person with median level income renting might be chepaer than buying.

Ive been living in San Antonio for a couple years and I agree with the traffic, SA should invest in public transportation instead of mindlessly expanding the highway just for it to get heavy traffic again
