By the way, color-coding the subtitles is a BIG help.
Yes, I love that she did that! It helps us understand the sentence structure better! 😊
Yup..! Been saying it For;
- *Years to folks/people..*
if you want another japanese learning channel with color coded subtitles i reccomemd japanese ammo with misa! she has alot of great videos on grammar and other things
@@catticus6637 Yes, Misa is also a great teacher!
It sounds like a sarcasm
I would want at least 1 video for N3,N2 and N1.Since content like this is sadly rare.
you could just watch NHK news or Japanese radio talk shows.
I like watching the channel nihongo no mori for N3, N2 and N1.
I think this would be really helpful, as it's a good way to check your level in different areas. I find the N4 listening and reading to be easy, but when I think about what I can spontaneously produce, it's probably around this level. I think there will be the most demand for N5/N4 videos, but it would be nice to have a good number of N3 videos too, and at least an example video for N2 and for N1
@@mapl3magethis is for testing not learning I agree reading and listening to native content will improve your ability to
I am not N4 lol. Oh well see you in a month
It's an interesting phenomenon, being able to comfortably understand everything that's being said, but knowing that the relatively advanced phrasing would never have occurred to you to say yourself. Guess that's just how it is when there isn't anyone to practice conversations with.
Wow that's exactly what I was thinking. Since Japanese isn't my only second language, I'm very familiar with this feeling of being able to comfortably comprehend whatever is being said, but realising that I wouldn't be able to speak like that myself. It's just a symptom of not practicing speaking the language. It happens with your first language too, but the difference in comprehension and skills and speaking skills isn't much since you would have enough practice. It's interesting how our brains work lol.
That's why if you can, use apps like HelloTalk, or try and find conversation groups near you. The other option is to just talk to yourself like you're insane which is what I mostly do, but you can only really go so far with that (but it helps because you need to practice speaking and constructing sentences). Failing all the above, just blow your life savings and go to Japan, that is truthfully the most effective way to learn rapidly.
I can't believe my 10 years of Japanese anime addiction really paid off with minimal effort. Mind blown.
Not mind blown at all. That’s the correct way of learning a language.

Lol none of this is in any anime 😂
It's soooooooo helpful that the english subtitles are of the actual japanese spoken and not an "englishified" version which makes more sense in English
(4:38 is a good example, read in English on its own this sentence is wild lol)
It's true, it's very helpful! But actually the sentence you mentioned was the only one I didn't quite understand, so could you explain it to me pls :)
@@gacha.annamationLol
It basically means "I need to think about what can I do in order to keep it from being eaten"
The "avoid *it* being eaten" part is inferred by the context, hence the english sentence says "to avoid being eaten"
Japanese is weird, no context is the norm
@@guydht1 oh alr thanks 😅🙏
read that at a glance and thought to myself " who is trying to eat you" 😂
A big jump between N5 and N4 haha. I would say I understood: first one 65%, second one 50% and third one 80%. Please make more of this videos!!! Thanks for helping us
Yes, I was able to get the third one without subtitles. :) The first and second - 残念ながらできませんでした.
learning japanese for about 2 years, yet understood only 10% of each situation
@@BichTedetook me four years to get to 100%. I procrastinated a lot in my first three years and even sometimes now but I've still worked hard as well. I don't know how you study but immersion is key. Just watch loads of videos in Japanese even I'd you don't understand any of it.
@@BichTede hello from french.
please, one question .: 2 years but, how many hours ?
@@kamikotojp100% of ?
I passed N2 2 years ago and have been working in a Japanese company (in Tokyo) for almost 2 years now but I enjoy listening to this just to:
1. Refresh my memory on certain grammar points
2. Just to relax after spending an entire day listening to my colleagues speak keigo/ super fast all day. It's really tiring~
Reality hits like a truck when you notice the jump from N5 to N4.
These videos are super helpful in letting me know where I stand, and I would love to see more N4 videos to help me bridge that N5-N4 gap more adequately.
I actually understood the clips better in increasing order, as in the first clip was the toughest and the last one about gomi, the easiest.
Thank you Mochi-sensei!
Is the difference that big? I've never learnt Japanese, I only watch anime, but with that knowledge this wasn't that much harder. For me, it was pretty much the same.
I mean I couldn't perfectly understand everything, but like 70% of every stories (including the ones from the N5 video).
Well, if we are just talking about getting the gist of the message, sure, it's not too hard. But imagine having to speak it. To do that at the same pace and with the same phrasing, I know for a fact I can't do that now. There are many technical aspects of the language she uses here which I'm not yet familiar with. Plus, we are only just talking about listening here. Speaking and writing would be a whole other game.
@@rain.6881I don't think you can unterstand so much without learning japaenese.
@@Velvettia Based on what? Or how do you think kids learn to speak their native language without actually "learning"? I've spent more than 5k hours watching anime. I can understand basic conversations to some degree.
@@rain.6881 Okay but I'm sure if you go to Japan you will unterstand not really much.
Yeah I watch Anime since over 20 years too..
But it's a differently learning if you speak with your parents and use it by your self or you watch only Anime..
This video was awesome, thank you so much. I really like this format of repeating it three times. It really taught me how to process and listen. Please make more like this for N4 and N5. 教えてください! :)
ちゃんと聞きました、一回で全部分かりました。今年の十二月にJLPTN4をします。

Thanks a lot, that's very helpful !
Would love if you could make other N4-N5 videos like this.
Great video, having the audio three times, two without sub and one with helps a lot. Thanks.
Your videos helps a lot.
looking forward for more videos like this from both n4 and n3 too thx so much
it helped me a lots. thank you :)
Yay! I could understand this! Working towards improving my understanding of N3 level now, but have a ways to go. This is really a great idea...I'm looking forward to future videos like this. 🥳
Thank you, I like these videos, and N4 / N3 would be great!
Love this type of videos. I am amazed how much I was able to understand, especially from the third example, and I've been away from seriously learning Japanese for years, only watched anime with subtitles daily or so. Would be interesting to see for higher levels as well, but please do more practice for beginners too, thank you!
Sensei this really helped me if you can please make more videos like this I'm wishing you the best
Thank you so much for making this video. I can't believe I understood all of it!
This inspires me to study more ^~^
I think I understand 80% to 90% of these videos. Thanks!
im glad i can understand what was being said without subs, looking forward to N3 to find out if my listening is at that level too. Thank you!

N4 was really good. So much to learn and practice. Thank you for posting!
Thank you for the videos! Even though I would not be able to translate to English in real time, I was able to understand the meaning the first time around in all three. Though some of the individual words I did not get, but was able to guess based on your sentences. This made me feel pretty pleased with myself! This video series was so useful! Thank you again ❤
Thanks for this video! N3 would be great as well ☺️
全部わかりました!!!本当にありがとうございます!そう、N3動画撮ってください!
Great Video! I would really appreciate it if you made a N3 Version too since I'm trying to figure out my current level

I'm looking forward N3! This was very good for practice 💕
Thanks for these videos. Personally, I'd like more N4 practice videos. I passed the N5 a few years ago and I hope to take the N4 sometime, but I know I'm not quite ready for it yet...
thank you sensei
Can play this in the background while doing other stuff and understand everything. Feelsgoodman
This is a good practice for me ,, i am glad that i was able to understand what you are saying :) please more N4 videos ... thanks2x
thank you!!
Keep doing videos, all levels are very helpful.
Would be nice to know what the other N levels would sound like.
ありがとうございますた!
I was quite proud of myself because I did well on the third example, until ごみ came along, I didn't know that one yet.
I need a lot more practice for N4 level, but it's the right level for me, so I would love another N4 video!
Thank you so much for making these! They are incredibly valuable!
Thank yuh sensei...
Plz make more listening videos 😊😊😊

It would be helpful to have a video like this for each jlpt level as a good test to check my progress. I love your listening practice videos! この動画は全部わかりましたよ!
Great video for a beginner like me, really surprised that same video, same words, but great difference between my 1st & 3rd attempt. Amazing and useful Video, ありがとうございます。Mochi先生
Mochi先生の授業はとっても分かり易いので、今後N3、N2、N1のビデオも宜しくお願いします!!
Very helpful
Thanks for your video! I think I need to concentrate on learning more vocabulary. The grammar was all fine. I just didnt know what alarm, makeup or the noun for waking up early was for example. Such a great channel
Please do N3 sensei!
I was able to understand most of this video so it made me really happy! 😊
I'm currently studying japanese grammar with an N3 workbook so I think I am around there! o/
Thank you.
もち先生、このビデオをお作りになってくれてありがとうございました!まだ全部は分かりませんが、頑張っていますよ!
More N4! Thais was awesome

I had no idea I could understand everything without subtitles. I watched anime every day for more than 8 years, and learned some N5 japanese when I was in high school, stopped at some point because I focusing more on my career.
This giving me good confidence to learn Japanese again.
Looking forward to the N3 video
The N5 tests were fine and I was hoping N4 would be as well... but the gap is definitely too big for me right now.
Thanks for the video.
谢谢!ありがとうございます!
I actually understood almost everything the first time, without subtitles. I am currently focusing on N3 since that's what I will be taking in July, and I was worried that I have forgotten my N4. So happy that I in fact didn't. Thank you for this video. You have a new subscriber.😁
It's interesting. This is probably pushing the limit of my capacity in Japanese. I can understand a lot of the meaning of the sentences, but after learning the intention in the second sentences, it becomes a lot easier to hear the words I didn't even notice were there (but I absolutely know, e.g. 高い場所.)
Good work!
I’m taking the JLPT N4 very soon and I’m so relieved that I understood this first try 😭❤️ thank you for this video I think it’s very well made!
Yay N4 lessons! I think I got a good knowledge on first try, after watching the secomd try with sub, by the 3rd time I completely understand everything lol Arigato Gozaimasu Mochi Sensei!!
Thanks for posting these videos. I found your channel this week. I've been trying to learn Japanese for five years now, I know a lot of Kanji but zero grammar. I'll keep trying.
I never studied grammar I’m not saying it doesn’t work because it does but don’t try to brute force memorize it because your brain will have a huge conscious time lag. Idk how much you understood but definitely shouldn’t take long with 5 years of kanji study. Did you only study the writing system? Because I would imagine you would’ve read or watched tv shows or something because no grammar means little to none traditional school and textbook study. Because even a little vocab, kanji, and input for, I don’t wanna put a number on it but let’s say 1-2 years should easily get here realistically if your not like me (lazy) it can be done in less than half a year. I assume tho you meant you understood it but the grammar was elusive making it ambiguous or a “I know the words but not the sentence” moment.
@@notcyfhr thanks for taking the time to write your comment. Yes, I understand several words here and there but my brain doesn't register the full meaning of the sentence. The only grammar/particles I know: は、が、も、の、と. I know the meaning of more than 1000 kanji. But I am very lazy and I don't have a lot of time. But before this year ends I hope to get to N4.
Great practise., thanks for that Mochi sensei! Personally for me N3 would be a good challenge, but its better to post a voting on the channel to understand the level of your subscribers and adjust accordingly!
I'm just going to keep listening and see if I learn some things. At least I get listening training to get used to how Japanese sound.
I need to brush up on my grammar. The rest went pretty well.
I hope an N3 version releases soon!
Please make more N4 level help videos, and eventually an N3 test ~
I definitely need more practice but I will adapt to this language!!
I've only learnt up to N5 but N4 listening was really easy for me. Advantage of listening to japanese radio & variety shows, ppl😂 Also thank u so much for making videos like these. Your cheerful voice & tone make the listening lessons less monotonous.
Thank you so much for this video it’s really helpful I sincerely request you to make a video for the N3 level. 先生、本当にありがとうございます、先生のおかげで助かります。
Your content is amazing, so please make content for N4 level more...
Very good
im a self learner whos current level is going from n5 to n4, this video is very helpful to me, i would like if there will be more contents like this, daily life scene kikurenshu, its rly efficient n easy learning material. anyways, thx for making this!!
字幕なしで大体理解できました!とても楽しかったです。
次のは、N3のレベル向きを作ってもらえませんか?
それをできれば、本当に感謝します!😍
Thanks for this, was fun to test myself. Never studied Japanese, but I understood everything on the first time on the N5 and this video. But as I learned from anime and jdrama, if I were to respond, it would be a mix of kansai-ben, slang words and words that only people born in the showa era would use. And I would use keigo only by pure accident.
More beginners level, please 😂 I need to practice a little bit more.
Much more N5 and N4 please.. Thank you ❤❤
cool I could actually understand most of this, just a few words here and there that I didn't know :o
Very nice
Nice! This difficulty is just nice for me, please do more of this video, thanks! Also could you do N3 level? You dont seem to do a lot of N3 level, I am curious if I can keep up with N3 level though.
Terimakasih pelajarannya, saya belajar bahas Jepang dari anda
sugoi desu . Sensei.. God bless you.
次はN3お願いします!
Thanks for such great educational video. Please make more N4, N3, N2 and N1 versions. I think I a. Somewhere between N3 and N2. Thanks from Sharon
please continue for n3 senseiiii,お願いします
Wow! I cannot believe it 😱 I could understand 80-95% in the first one without subtitles, and 100% in the next two versions. This is so cool.
I found this easier than the N5 video because the speed and cadance was more normal. My only problem was I didn't know the word for trash ゴミ, which caused some problems with the start of the last one. haha. Less familiar with some of the grammar, meaning was very easy to follow. I'd say I understood about ~95% on this one.
Keep up the good videos, great content!
That second one sounded like a slice-of-life scene in LN narrated by the protagonist when there's a small break before the final fight/climax of the show.
