Building an Acoustic Guitar

  • This video shows the process of how I made an acoustic guitar from scratch.
The type of woods used in this guitar:
    Top: engelmann spruce
    Back and sides: black walnut
    Neck: sipo mahagony
    Fretboard and bridge: Indian rosewood
This was my first acoustic guitar build. Made many mistakes and forgot to record a lot of footages... but it was quite an experience and I already start building the second one!
I'm also building Ukulele. Check out this playlist for the Ukulele project: • Ukulele Build Series -...
I would also like to recommend Eric Schaefer's online luthier course for anyone who wants to more seriously consider building a guitar. www.ericschaeferguitars.com (not a sponsored link in any sense)

That was a real treat to watch. Absolutely beautiful !!
    Back around 1990 I purchased a D-18 Shenandoah kit.
Had it assembled for another 100 $
The gentleman doing the work then asked me if I wanted any extras ?
Ended up using abalone mother of pearl for the inlays. Decided on using the big hexagon's on the fingerboard like on the 45 models. The 12th fret was solid abalone with my name engraved in it.
    I had a total of just under 350.00 $
When I picked it up a month later, I couldn't believe how amazing it looked and sounded !!
It was a short lived relationship though. Life happens and things turned upside down and I was forced to sell it.
I Kick myself to this day for that one !!
I'd like to purchase another kit and put it together myself. I believe it would be very satisfying and maybe help me to get over that D -18 !!!
