I've been plagued with health issues and chronic pain for most of my life and unfortunately the health system isn't a great place mentally for most women, at least in Ireland, especially when you have an invisible illness, so although I don't know your circumstances, I do know what it's like to have more bad memories than good. But this song only ever reminds me of the summer months between school and just the freedom from the stress of it all, so for that reason alone this is my favourite of Ed's songs. Dude you hated this from the beginning and that is fine, but why are you bothering to critique what kids do? In the lyrics he describes what normal teenagers do, it makes me think you didn't have the opportunity to get so fucked up you puked with your friends and learn from that, or get involved with a girl and think she was your forever.
I feel like this just shows the missed opportunities in youth that you had over anything else.
