    Re: Auctions. This car will be bought by a used car dealer for $4k, and then put on a used car lot and sold to some poor soul who will finance the car at 10% interest rate, and pay $12k for it. They will drive it for a few months until the fuel pumps fail, and then not have $5k to fix it, nor will they be able to pay off the $12k loan and will have no car to drive to work.
    Meanwhile a fan of the show who knows the issue and cost with full disclosure would buy it as a second car, and fix it while only paying $4k for the car.
    Hoovie - you’re sending some poor soul literally in to bankruptcy by selling it at auction.

    • @gasfiltered
      @gasfiltered Před 4 lety +22

      You can rebuild the pumps pretty cheap, ~$200 or so, Tyler just needed a good story. If you finance a car with no warranty, you do so knowing the second you sign the paper that it could fail before you pull off the lot. Don't finance cars. Ever. And even the shadiest bank won't finance a 13 year old BMW. A buy-here-pay-here lot will usually take it back because it's better to keep you paying on something than have you walk away from a worthless car.

    • @AdelAlqadi1
      @AdelAlqadi1 Před 4 lety +3

Well it all depends on how you take care of your car tbh, i think ppl that buy toyotas (etc.) just don't care about service intervals (I'm a carguy who loves every build, as long as it has a purpose)

    5:30 As someone who owns and works on BMW’s, NEVER go to the dealership for parts especially for a car that old. I did one search on eBay for the fuel pumps, and I found multiple OEM lightly used or new examples for around $500 or even a bit less than that. Also if you were to get another BMW I’d recommend the E38 740i or 750i. I got my 740 around 2-3 years ago, and I put about $8k into it for new parts and a transmission rebuild. It has run with no lights on ever since. The most I’ve done to it is an oil change. If you were to go that route, I’d also recommend a facelifted model between 2000-2001

    Good afternoon, I watch for a longer time your videos and iam from the Netherlands but have a lot of experience in cars, that Alpina B7 can be fixed for not to much money, just find the engine of the BMW 740i it's the same V8 and will work as a charm, in Germany it's the comen thing to do. Great show and good luck, your fuelpumps costs about $1250 here in Europe 😬 but I've a tip for you too try first for the 760I, just buy a small bottle of fuelsystem cleaner from Wynn's and maybe the problems going away, and try always to full up the car with gas what has a high octane , because that's the reason your cars are getting coled inside, a bottle of octane riser from time till time helps for better internal combustion.
    Love your show and good luck, greets from the Netherlands 🇳🇱👍
