Thank you for providing this link. Your superb narration in part 3 does it justice. For those who may not know, "Isolation" was released in 1970 on the first Plastic Ono band album. Isolation is not a personal favorite for me, on what was John's "self pity" album. Ringo and Klaus Voorman played on the album. "Working Class Hero" is likely the best known track, but there are a few other good ones... "Remember" and "I Found Out" - my opinion.

This sweater that John was wearing - I don't know what it was called in English, but here in Germany this was called a "pollunder" - a sleveless sweater, which you would wear over a shirt. They were very fashionable in the 1970s, I had one too, at the time.

I loved seeing John and Yoko’s beautiful home , I really enjoyed seeing all the different rooms ( so many) that they lived in !! It’s always great to have someone who can explain all the different areas, arrangements, places where they lived in the house etc etc .. thank you Scott for all your help explaining all about the details and the way it was done !!!! I really love to see the rooms and you made it easier for me !!! Just want to say about the about the sweater of John’s ( I think they’re not the best in my opinion) but in Ireland and England they’re worn very often . My father , my uncle’s etc ( all from Ireland and my uncle’s from England) wore those weird sweaters . My dad came and moved in the States so he didn’t wear them as much , thank goodness!!! Thought you’d love to hear about the sweaters 😂😂🤣!!!!!!

Fabulous footage and commentary. I really enjoyed this. The video inside of John and Yoko's bedroom, I wonder if it was right after they first. moved in, given the general disarray, and also as the famed photos and artwork along the walls (they look like they're lined up below where they are to be hung on the walls). One can tell that John and Yoko probably spent most of their time in bed (which most us of already knew, LOL), as everything they might need over the course of a day and night (books, telephone, TV set, etc.) was surrounding the bed. This is probably why, as you noted in the video, they didn't bother to make the bed, they were only going to get back into it shortly! J and Y had quite a collection of fur coats (12:02). I'm guessing that one of these is the coat that John wore during the rooftop concert in 1969.

Thank you so much for watching and your kind feedback. This film footage was taken quite awhile after they moved in since the upper deck already had the railing and furniture and plants. But, yeah, I agree with you. They spent a lot of tie in their bedroom. A lot of creative people do. I'm in my bed right now. Shhhhhh. Don't tell anyone. :)

The thin V neck sweaters were all the rage in 1970-72 especially in the UK and Ireland, and before the flamboyant clothing and bell bottoms came in later in 1973-5. The sweater also suited the simple image that they were projecting at that time with songs such as Mother, and later Imagine. The Beatles had already caught on to certain marketing techniques by the late 60’s.

Great pictures!! I was captivated by the footage of John and Yoko's bedroom - just INCREDIBLE! Aside from the TV you noted, there was a large radio on the floor near the left side of the bed, and just to the left of that, a film projector of some type on a table. I re-played that footage a few times!
Important note: You did a fantastic job of giving the viewer a perspective of the location and layout of the rooms. I felt like I was walking through the bedroom. Oh, I agree that that weird piano may have been blocking a fireplace like the one John was in front of in the level below. The location would seem to fit from the upper/lower comparison. By the way, note John's pack of cigarettes to the right in the fire place shot.
Keep these coming - LOVE them - THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for taking the time for the kind reply. I am so glad that you and others enjoyed it. The original footage moves kind of fast so I''m glad I slowed it down so people like us can see all the details and see stuff that normally would go unnoticed! You have great powers of observation. I noticed that John & Yoko seemed to have made a habit of covering fireplaces with furniture. They even did that in their bedroom in the Dakota. Maybe they had a phobia about fireplaces? Did you notice the TWO VIRGINS album on the floor? The "private parts" were covered by a piece of paper which makes me wonder if that was an accident or if they knew the camera crew was going through. But if so, why not just pick it up and move it? I know a lot of people like floor plans, so I'm glad I found an opportunity to share one of them. I'll show more in future videos. Thanks again for checking it out. I really appreciate it.

    • @aceopinions
      @aceopinions Před 9 měsíci

@@StrangeHistoryX Thank you for the kind compliment. I actually missed the Two Virgins LP on the floor. I replayed and now see it clearly at 7:02. Given John's penchant for controversy, it's too funny that he might have covered it for the reason you stated - but yes, why not just pick it up? So much detail to review. I love the details. I was shocked that here they were living in a historic mansion and their huge bedroom looked like a frat house after a night of drinking. I don't get it. Regarding the fireplaces - I think so and I suspect that John had many phobias.
Fun note: As a grade school kid, I remember seeing the Two Virgin's album in a now defunct department store in the suburbs of NJ (about an hour from NYC) where I grew up. The records were kept in rack displays, organized by artist for customers to peruse. Needless to say, Two Virgins was not on prominent display. It was hidden behind the other Lennon albums. My friends and I laughed hysterically at them standing standing there with their "private parts" exposed (well we used other descriptive terms, but you get the idea) . Your comment sparked that memory, so had to share.

15:55 I guess is for "John Lennon - Man Of The Decade (December 2, 1969)" they shot a video from John and Yoko. John talks there were just nonsense things in that video. I don't know who didn't realize that being famous doesn't make you smart.
In contrast, the video reveals intimate areas that John and Yoko themselves may not have wanted to share, despite the public's insatiable curiosity about the band.
    Thanks for sharing this video.
Hoping one day you can make a video or some videos of the book of "the last days of John Lennon" by Fred Seaman.

Its a beautiful house. I was always somewhat surprised at how poorly it was furnished during the Lennon's occupancy. During the imagine film, it appeared as if the living room was vacant except for the piano. But when Yoko opened the windows, the light revealed a clear, inflatable chair and a clear, plastic podium. Just awful. How would you like to sit in that? The bedroom looks atrocious with junk strewn everywhere. Just an old mattress on the floor. The dining room table looked like it was taken from Jed Clampett. You might think they were 'house poor' but I don't believe money was an issue for them. They just didn't have any sense of decor.

The bedroom looks like every "crash pad" dump I visited in late 60s and early 70s. Usually occupied by drug users who were one step away from a visit by the DEA. Yeah, I visited, but thankfully never lived that way. Of course, that was ages ago.

The bedroom looks wonderfully personal. It's obvious they spent most of their time there with their favorite books and music. Several portable record players, a tv, a film projector, two telephones, obviously one for them each. Except for the scale, that's how my parents lived in the 70's, and many with them. I'd call it boheme chic.

One thing that stands out when I see pictures of the lennons living quarters is that they are very sparsely furnished. My home is the same way. Tell you what. Instead of quiveling over how to pronounce radiator, lets just call the whole thing off. Wow. They even kept pictures on the floor instead of the wall like I do. Holly crap I need to get a DNA test to see if were related. I wonder if this is what the Cream song, white room is about ? I bet they used the 16mm projector a lot. This was before VCRs.
