    Fantastic pictures and narration as usual! Loved the story on the Gypsy Caravan!!! So much here, but a few random comments: For those who are not mega Beatle fans, Weybridge (Kenwood) is where John wrote many songs and also where Paul often visited John and the two would collaborate on songs in those years. I believe John sold Kenwood in 1968 - does anyone know to whom it was sold?
    Yes, it's "whom" , not "who" :)
    The settlement that John gave Cynthia is despicable! Ditto for how he treated Julian. She was with Lennon when he had nothing. He should have given her millions , and specially provide for Julian. Julian has mentioned in interviews the trust his father left him, but don't recall him ever mention it being shared with any future half siblings. It may be true, but doesn't really make sense....presumably, Lennon would simply provide separately for any future children his fathered. Who knows?
    Lennon was a genius, but from Cynthia's comments, and others that knew him well, he was a sometimes, angry and very insecure person - made far worse by Yoko who only sought to control him...which I think he actually wanted. Geniuses are not always the nicest people. In his case, you need to appreciate the art and look past the artist.

    John gave his wife a pittance. He should be embarrassed. He had way more money that he would have ever spent. He wouldnt have missed the money, and embarrassed and humiliated himself. Cynthia was with him before he was famous.. yoko acting like she didnt know who he was is exactly the same as meghan markle saying she didnt know about prince harry before they met. Meghan and Yoko are compared accurately as these women playing the narcissistic abuse game always segregate their target way from friends, family, bandmates, wives, their country, and their former life be it the beatles or the royal family. This is how gold diggers roll. Look how (un)happy harry is now!! She makes yoko seem tolerable!

    The "four thousand pounds for the caravan referred to the COST of the vehicle, not the WEIGHT. £4,000 which I believe was about $2,000 at the time. I remember it being commissioned, built and painted and I had a different newspaper article at the time about the flower power event written in The Observer Sunday Colour Supplement. I think it was written by Hunter Davis, the first official biographer, of the Beatles.

    Just my two cents...but it seems that John was more comfortable with a Mimi version of a woman in his life than Cynthia who always put him first. Paul said that Cynthia told him that she just wanted to be there when John got home to put on his slippers and serve him a homemade meal. Paul thought to himself...uh-oh...that's not what John wants. I think Paul would have liked that, though. Cynthia said in her book that she "wished John would have looked at me the way he looked at Paul."

Because without Cynthia, his life spiraled out of control ... heroin ... alcohol abuse ... screaming therapy ... constantly searching for happiness ... when in the end he realized ... being HOME ... with his son .... and wife ... was where happiness truly was. So he went full circle. But by that time he found what he was looking for, it didn't last.

With people marrying for money and breaking up families etc. If it all went to the eldest child at lesst most of the time trouble would be avoided as the wife would be the childs mother so who wouldn't see their own mother ok.

    Wow - what an amazing video! I thought I knew a lot about the Beatles but there was so much new information for me. So, you know, thank you for that! A few comments: 1) your statement toward the end about Beatles companies (like Apple) selling crap is so spot on. I want to buy Beatles stuff so much but what is offered on the Beatles web site is, well, crap! 2) I recently returned from Las Vegas after viewing Cirque du Solei's Love performance for the second time. That is an example of an outside company providing creative spark to the magic of the Beatles! I love the idea of a virtual reality tour (magical and mysterious, eh?)! 3) You referenced George Harrison and his relationship to his wonderful property called Friar Park and I see Strange History X produced a wonderful video on that - good work! 4) What I want to know is if this was a gift to Julien, why did he not end up with it? Who buys a gift for their child and then keeps it after divorcing their mother? Could it be that Julien did not want it? Did Cynthia speak of Julien's relationship with this beautiful caravan in her book? 5) I love John Lennon but he had a strange relationship with money -- Allen Klein and so many other examples. I can't believe Cynthia received such a low divorce settlement. I live in the US and wonder if the divorce laws regarding settlements are different in England?? And then we have all heard about how little Julien received from the Lennon estate. How sad is it that Julien felt compelled to auction all of these items? 6) Commenters have mentioned John's choice of leaving Cynthia for Yoko. Speculation on my part but I agree he traded in a secure relationship by a woman who loved him for him, not to mention a child who needed love from his daddy (John seems to have replicated the pattern of his father who abandoned him).
    @buttercup1765 noted that Cynthia replicated Aunt Mimi's role - an astute observation which I had never considered before. Yoko seems to have replicated John's bio-mom, Julia, who possessed a creative spark but found it difficult to provide the stability that a child desperately needs. 7) Lastly, upon seeing the title of this video, my mind immediately jumped to Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue in 1976, which was a gypsy caravan tour played out for real. John had an interesting engagement with Bob Dylan and his music - I love the bootleg songs that reference Dylan, including imitating his voice, that appear on the John Lennon Anthology. Does anyone know how John felt about Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue? How cool would it have been for John to plug into that? Of course, he was just starting his house husband phase. Thank you so much for this!

    • @StrangeHistoryX
      @StrangeHistoryX  Před 9 měsíci +3

      I think the reason the gypsy caravan ended up at Tittenhurst Park is because Cynthia couldn't afford to live in Kenwood without Lennon's money and he did not offer to help, and so Cynthia and her young son didn't know where they would end up living. Nothing was set up for them, and so the Caravan was probably going to be abandoned or trashed, so when John had his possessions packed up at Kenwood he clearly took his son's birthday gift. It is a stretch to think that Julian would enjoy it when he came to visit because he rarely seemed to visit Tittenhurst Park. I think that it's sad that Apple seems to be rotten. Their obsession with squeezing every dime they can out of Beatles fans with no consideration for quality. Yes, they were world-famous but their main base of support came from the USA and UK. The idea that they manufacture so much (all?) of their crap in China is saddening. They have the resources to manufacture everything in the UK. Clearly, Paul and Ringo and Olivia and Yoko don't care about creating jobs for Brits. They can make more money by having everything made in China. We all love Beatles music, and we like to think these are nice people, but in the end, they are vile CEOs of a massive company that is focused on bringing in money. Their days of creativity and compassion have been gone for a long time, I am sad to say. There is no telling if things would be different if George was still around. We know John was obsessed with money, perhaps in a never-ending effort to compete with Paul. I've mentioned this before, it's not too late. Perhaps APPLE should ask Beatles fans what they want. I can think of lots of cool things The Beatles can do for their fans, but it's unlikely any of them will happen. But we can hope. They know how to reach me.

Also the song they that Sean wrote about His extended sleepover and movie he made with Michael Jackson. The song is called Bubbles and it leads me to believe that something creepy happened to him. Just like Paul McCartney, there were multiple John Lennons. One of them went on to play the character, Steve Jobs, biblical computer company name and logo, biblical name for the character founder that wore the same outfit the last 10-15 years of his life, why else didn't they get sued by Apple Records, there is an interview with the Beatles where they talk about Apple Corps branching out into "technology", the guy gave Sean a computer, thanks for that by the way, I already believed this before I saw that. It's a very sensible answer to you questions about why he was such an "unprotected, open to the public figure" why else would there be those very convenient photos by Liebowitz, with Chapman and the photographer or that picture, I think that was all a setup before the fake death, the Beatles are just like the Laurel Canyon, Operation Chaos, American rockstars, except handled by British Intelligence and Tavistock. I think they even "never let a crisis go to waste" and put Nilsson out there lobbying for gun control, he likley wrote a lot of their music, why else would the Beatles say he was their favorite group, how else could he get so much industry support and be allowed to not tour. He was deeply involved in some iffy stuff like Moon and Cass dying in his apt. Mike Williams goes through all this stuff. I think that one of the Johns even had at least one more kid, a daughter, who goes by Chiyoko Osborne, ahe lives one block over and 4 blocks down from the Dakota, she worked in fashion for Calvin Klein, her mother is known as "Sharon Osborne", her ex-husband is the head of an official John Lennon Charity, she openly states she knows Yoko Ono, now she is a Yoga instructor in Equador.

He went to John's Aunt MATER who had a home near Loch Meadie in Durness, on the north coast of Scotland. AUNT MIMI did not anywhere close to Scotland so it would make no sense whatsoever that he would go to her while John & Yoko were in the hospital. He stayed with a LOCAL relative. Aunt Mater lived there with John's Uncle Burt and cousins Liela, David and Michael

    It would be very hard for me to allow my wife to kick me out of my own place, “(mostly if I were very much in love with her)” like John was with Yoko., you see John loved Yoko more than she loves him, that was johns down fall and weakness. Getting permission and consent to get laid with another beautiful and younger woman made logical sense to John thinking to himself, ok, I’ll smash this young Asian woman as much as I can and catch up for lost pussy time with pang, then when I get bored of her I’ll head back to Yoko and be more serious with her. Yes, that happened, only because Yoko couldn’t make it with another guy that she had feelings for, he didn’t want to get involved with her like John did, he just wanted to be friends with benefits and be good close friends with Yoko., If that didn’t happen, Yoko would have dump John for good, I also believe that Yoko had a thing for Paul!, because Paul was a workaholic and just loved being busy making new music and taking care of the Beatle business, Yoko was working with Paul at times too with Yoko, Paul didn’t want to get involved with Yoko intimately. Just business only. Smart move on Paul’s thinking 💭 it was too close for comfort. I’m not sure if John ever knew about these things, because John, Paul and Yoko never made a huge big deal about in public, this was a private personal thing between them.because of johns strong character and always being very opinionated about everything, and his laziness too, I believe that Yoko needed a big break from John, he just wore her out to the point of kicking him out of the apartment, she needed some space for herself and life , so in desperation she said move out honey.
