The Mortal Kombat movie reboot features the defenders of Earthrealm Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Jax Briggs and more entering the Mortal Kombat tournament to save the world from Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero, Mileena and other supernatural kombatants.
Mortal Kombat is out on HBO Max April 23 2021.

Casting Martial Arts champions for Mortal Kombat characters. This is gonna be authentic!
It's sort of sad to read some of the interviews because you get the feeling that this was part of the reason it took so long for this movie to be made. The studio seemed to want to cast bigger actors at first.
they mostly actors with martial arts background actually, some of their face is familiar

@@malalalalala2985 Because it implies that two of the things which held this adaptation back was that the creators wanted people with actual martial arts backgrounds and, well, that the studio did not have faith that a movie full of Asian characters played by actual Asian people would work.

Just watched the movie today (Indonesia), MUST WATCH. The story was decent, and the fight scenes were superb. It had plenty of action scenes, fatality & brutality (yes, literal blood and bones, unlike the 90s version), it even had one of the most iconic stage in MK. Arguably the best action movie in 2021 so far
