I am happy and excited every time I see anyone. Built a guitar and played it himself And I like making guitars too.
One of the best guitars T style guitars I've seen. I think a lot more people like a natural finish than the large companies think.
Much appreciated! And I’d say I agree about the finish. I don’t know why larger companies don’t focus on more natural looking electrics. It honestly would probably drive up costs because most painted guitars are made of panels and not a solid chunk of wood
Fantastic video and even better playing technique,Well done !!!
Thank you!
Wow! Nice! I love to see people building their own instruments. Awesome! 😎
Thanks! And thanks for watching!
Stunning Tele! I love the natural finish. New sub!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Awesome !! Congrats !!
Thanks!!
Beautiful! Very talented!
Thank you!
You and Shawn did such a good job!!!!
Thanks a lot!
The Rubio finish was the right choice. Turned out beautiful.
Thanks! Once it cured I buffed it with paste wax and it bumped the sheen up a little bit
Looks great!!
Thanks!!!
OMG, this is awesome. Bro I’m so happy you’re growing and sharing with the world. You’re talented.‼️
Thanks bro I’m super glad you like it!
It looks and sounds awesome, build more! Lots of builders never go through all the measurements of everything. Maybe you can do that.
Looks thin on the entry of video which looks good. Looks thicker latter even near finishing.
Thanks a lot! It was hard to focus on sharing every detail being it was my first one but I definitely plan on doing a full step-by-step series of one soon!
Awesome!
Thank you!
BEAUTIFUL 😊
Thank you!
Beautiful build!
Thanks a lot!!
Looks and sounds great.
Thank you!
Fantastic work dude! As a budding luthier myself I too felt the shock of “well dang building guitars takes a lot of skill” but you’d never know it by how you presented everything. The guitar looks gorgeous and I loved your optimism in taking your setbacks and turning them into opportunities. Also the risk it for the brisket at the end with the inlay is a great touch. Often times it’s under those same types of circumstances that the most beautiful work is created. Hope you’ll keep building and documenting into the future!
Much appreciated! Like Bob Ross says…”happy accidents” hahah setbacks are just a chance to get creative. Many more to come, thanks again!
Thats just lovely that is
Thanks a lot! I have to agree!
Stunning ❤
Thanks!
Tele looks and sounds amazing. Nice playing too.
Thanks a lot!
This is unreal dude, great job
Thank you!
That top turned out sweet. Love the oil finished look.
Thanks! The finish is still holding strong today
Good job 👌
Thank you!
beautiful guitar and playing, hope one day i’ll be able to craft a guitar or play that good
Thanks a lot! Just pick up a guitar everyday and you’ll get there
O natural da madeira é muito melhor que qualquer tipo de tinta... essa guitarra ficou perfeita.
acordado! obrigado pelo elogio!
Really beautiful this guitar.. 👍👍🇪🇸🇪🇸
Thank you!!!
@@TheWoodenHobbyist My pleasure.. 👍🇪🇸
this video deserves a few million more views
Thanks a lot! I appreciate it!
Cool playing! Guitar too BTW
Thanks a lot!
Nice
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I didn't see what finish you used on the list of stuff in the description. Could you please specify what you used? You said Rubio Monocoat, but which one and how was it applied / number coats etc. Thanks.
It’s rubio monocoat pure and I applied it by using a white scotch bright pad. Then wiped the excess away with a paper towel. Rubio monocoat, as the name suggests, only requires one coat if done properly. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic build. I recently also made my first acoustic guitar using only pine wood and I am considering an electric guitar also.
I bet it sounds great! I heard pine is actually a great tone wood, especially for amps
Check it out on my channel.

Awesome I’m doing it now!
Just Beautiful. Man you did a fantastic job.
Thanks a lot! She stills plays well!
Nice build! Why would you radius the fretboard first and glue it later?
Thanks! I go back and forth now. I made a jig for a bass build where a router does the radius work and it needs to be glued to the neck. I guess means rely on method
I wouldn't guess any of the setbacks judging by the final product, it looks and sounds amazing.
Thanks a lot! I ended up fine tuning the hardware and she sounds even better now
I wish I had the skills to make a guitar. I made a dulcimer from a kit once, but that's about it. My problem is that me and tools don't get along well. I'm not ambitious but tend to use different hands to do different things.
You have the skills just get out there and do it! Who cares if you mess up here and there!
Very nice guitar. Beautiful maple. On my glossy screen, your finish looks glossy too of course, but is it really a gloss finish? As far as I know, Rubio is very matt.
Why did you make the trussrod nut accessible on the side of the headstock?
It’s definitely matte! I plan on adding the new Rubio sheen enhancer to it though. Since it was my first guitar build, I made a lot of mistakes on where I put things and how I tackled problems. One of these things was the truss accessibility. I would definitely do it different next time.
Lots of levels to choose from. Why not try a non pickguard guitar, using bindings or bindings around a contoured body.Good luck.@@TheWoodenHobbyist
I’m forsure going to build some more guitars and I definitely plan on them getting more intense each time!
Which router bit did you use? Do you have a link? I would love to buy that one.
It’s this whiteside bit! amzn.to/3Lp8DBB
the nut slot on my new tele neck is way too narrow, about 1mm. I’m thinking to wrap up my fretboard radius gauge with sand paper to widen the gap, a sound plan to you or theres other easier/safer way to do this please? many thanks
I think that would work just fine, taking off little bits at a time and check fit. A sharp chisel could do the trick as well.
This looks real good.
I see the Fender noiseless pickups and tried to find what sort of switch you used.
If it is a 4-Way switch, please do tell where you got the wiring diagram for it.
Thanks! It’s a 3 way switch I bought on StewMac and the wiring diagram came with the pickups!
@@TheWoodenHobbyist Yeh, got the 3-Way and it's working. Tried to put a 4-Way switch and there is no valid wiring diagram for that with GEN 4 or the Ultra Noiseless.
If you ever decide you want a 4-Way switch there, first try to find a wiring diagram, 'cos not even Fender Support could provide one ;)
Keep it going mate. That is one good looking guitar. Would love to see you do anotherone.
I’ve been ordering the pieces for another one, maybe I’ll get a four way and tinker with the wiring until I get it right. Thanks for the compliment!
@@TheWoodenHobbyist Will be watching out for that one mate. I still have that 4-Way stowed away in a cabinet somewhere :D
Hell yeah!
What is the radius of milling machines? For the neck
Telecasters are subjectively best with a radius of 7.5 to 9.5 inches
Hope you earn that reputation to gain hungry customer for top dollar quality guitars amazing work i will pay top dollar without being there in person i just go by the details a person gives out and from there im not taking my chances because im confident enough what that person is doing and saying lol
Much appreciated ! I wasn’t confident until I finished it lol
Nice guitar - good job! . But intonation was pretty rough - you might want to invest in a tuner.
Yeah it took a while but it’s figured out. Used a tuner app on my phone
Great! How thick is the body?
Thanks! Just a little over an inch and a half
Damn it, I knew it could be done. You've given me great hope for some stock rosewood I have.
Sounds and looks amazing. Congrats mate.
Haha yes it can! Just have to be careful with the electronics cavities
How many diff tools are necessary for this?
It really depends on how you plan on building it! There are people who just use basic hand tools, sand paper, elbow grease and take a long time to build. Others who are more impatient, like myself, choose the multiple power tools option. Are you looking for a specific workaround at a certain part of the build?
But where did the plastic body template come from?
I got it from stewmac.com
I also make them now too! On my website

Where ist the truss rod?
Hidden in the neck. The video shows how I installed it
Nice guitar dude, but remove the hardware before finishing, never shield the guitar before finishing and routing the cavities before final shaping is easier
Thanks for the compliment. Can you explain why? I’m curious because the guitar works well but I’m open to doing better!
@@TheWoodenHobbyist removing string ferrules is better for applying the fininsh, and if you put some finish on the shielding it won't work properly, and you need to shield once again. For the cavities it's better to have a good stability so a nice wood block is more stable than bench cookies
@ovniufo6777 I understand the shielding aspect but I didn’t have any trouble with the bench cookies
Mmm cookies
Gotta love some cookies
Its a very nice build, but you would need to find a real sucker to pay 10 grand for that.
Thanks! And yes, you’re right lol It’s just a title change to check on what gets more engagement. I never actually planned to sell it. I will say, back in my younger days I worked at Guitar Center and you’d be amazed what some people would spend on guitars.
