And he still protects her to this day, even though he stands guard to the most protected palace on the planet, he still stands guard, like a real man.
What a beautiful ceremony.
Such an impressive ceremony. Magnificent. And historic. Blessings to the royal family.
An eternal prince.
Haha true, it sorta seems he'll go br the queen
@SkyFloats He didn't die, thats was Prince Philip that died the queens husband and in the video is Prince Charles who is the queens son
Poor Chuck. Always a Prince; never the King.
gtapolice1000 Elizabeth II is immortal tf is you talkin about?
Does anyone know if he even wants to be King?
Watcher Johnny -- Like his great-great-grandfather, Edward VII, Charlie will be old, grey, and almost dead by the time he gets the crown. Edward VII was almost 60 when he became king and died 9 years later. Charlie already holds the record for being the oldest (71) and longest-serving heir apparent in British history. I have the feeling that he'll extend both records for a good many more years.
My view of him has significantly mellowed over the years and I am confident that his reign, while destined to be relatively brief, will pleasantly surprise the doubters for a bunch of reasons. First, expectations about him by many are so low that if he doesn’t drool soup on his chin, it will be viewed as a triumph. Second, The Queen’s death will be followed by an international event (her funeral) on a tremendous scale that will launch his reign with an abundance of nostalgia, affection, sympathy and goodwill and then a year or year and a half later, another unprecedented ceremony (his and Camilla’s Coronation) will take place on the world stage. Third, he is not dumb and god knows he’s had time to consider how he wishes to evolve the institution of the monarchy. Fourth, he almost certainly will immediately banish his a brother, Prince Andrew, into obscurity a la the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and likely will regularize the status of his younger son and daughter-in-law, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. And, finally, he will die and be succeeded by the even more popular Prince William before he (Charles) has a chance to make a mistake.
While there are exceptions (such as his great uncle, King Edward VIII), in the case of the UK monarch, the job makes the man. With all of the resources of Buckingham Palace’s skilled bureaucracy and public relations apparatus, with his photogenic children and grandchildren, with his seemingly strong marriage and with the able support of his sister and youngest brother, it is hard to imagine he will have anything other than an ultra successful reign kicked off by a very long and affectionate honeymoon.
@@paulinbrooklyn A very reasonable assessment of the situation. Some of his past opinions seem rather silly to me (some of his views on global warming and the environment spring to mind). I'm not sure I would agree with "ultra successful", but if he is sensible and measured, he certainly has the potential to do very well. Time will tell.
Is that Charles' head or the Champions League trophy ?
why are you so stupid??
loool
>Implying that Prince Charles will ever be King.
loubna meknessia she’s 94 i believe
Charles as a youth. He's an old man now. Life is short.
I would love to this ceremony for Prince William. It would be sad should he become King with being introduced to the world as "The Prince" as was his father in this video. Enjoying the videos of the Monarchy.
Bravo..!
As a Canadian ts is my queen and my future king This was the first time since 1911 there had been an investiture As for HM voice, she speaks well some times I think recordings are not well done,
King Charles III finally. On September 8, 2022
He looks like he aged 5 years between the beginning and end of the ceremony!
But I'm a bit confused. When Elizabeth made her oaths at her coronation, she didn't mention Wales, and the coats of arms didn't appear to include Wales. Was Wales merely folded in to Britain when it became a part of the UK, and thus it began to lose its identity all those centuries ago?
I am glad that Wales is growing again, and that Welsh is taught in their schools again. Pride in your heritage is important.
bcgrote Wales was never a country but merely only a principality. Nowadays obviously it is a country
I see, it was a lot of separate little kingdoms up until 1282, then it was oppressed by its conquerors. Practice for the Empire, I suppose.
He is king now!!
Who is the woman in blue walking behind Queen Elizabeth at the start of ceremony? Is that Princess Margaret?
oh thanks for the info. link still doesn't say who the woman in blue was. maybe Princess Alice, the Duchess of Gloucester? I like watching historical videos so this one got me curious lalaith466
+Sabina England IMO, Alice is behind the Queen Mother at 6:10 and next to her it may be Princess Alexandra
It could be the Queens Lady in waiting.Princess Margaret was dressed in a different coloured outfit.
Princess Anne
Sabina England If the man in uniform behind the Queen was Louis Mountbatten (Charles' godfather), then the woman in blue might be his daughter (Pamela Hicks), who sometimes served as lady-in-waiting to the Queen.
He's an amazing son, father, husband, and friend.
*but not a nice husband*
@@qerwerg2341 Good 👍
he is king now.
now I don't mean this in a bad way about Prince Charles (all the stuff about who he married and so forth) but I wonder if and I do mean if there are enough of the British people who don't like him or don't want him to be king can they in any legal way "de-throne" him?? or force him to give his crown up to William?? can Queen Elizabeth if she wanted to by pass him and pass the crown to William??
+jmarylastone No. Per the Act of Settlement 1701, the heir to the throne is the Sovereign's eldest son (though this was amended in 2012 to allow the eldest child, boy or girl, to be heir), providing that they are a descendent of Electress Sophia of Hanover and in communion with the Church of England.
The only time a British monarch has chosen their successor was when Edward VI named Lady Jane Grey his successor over his sister, the Princess Mary. This led to Mary gathering an army, declaring rebellion and deposing and executing Jane and her husband.
Personally, Charles is one of the few members of the royal family I like and I think he's unjustly abused by a smug and media and a public who are easily manipulated. If the monarchy was to regain power, I think a system whereby the sovereign chooses their successor would be sensible, but for now I would oppose any change to the succession laws except for an amendment which would allow Catholics to become monarch.
He will become king
You never know the Queen might out-live him.
***** when you say "pick" I don't like the picking unless it follows the blood line such as in the case of William over Charles - but I am not British and have not had to give deep thought to it - as many others I find the "royal family" interesting (not in the "Hollywood" way but you know what I mean)
***** must add too that Charles is not my fave but yes he has gotten a bad rap on many fronts
We are still waiting for him to be king
A rainha dava um caldo nesse tempo
charles, always a prince, never a king...
I have an honest question: There is no "American accent" or "English accent" because there are dozens and dozens of accents and dialects in both places, but some are definitely more attractive or pleasant sounding than others. I (who am from the western US where we speak with a twinge of Arkansas) find the Queen's speech shrill and nasally very hard to listen to. I think most Americans agree with that. What are other people's opinions of how the Royal Family sound?
+secrettangerine i think americans are shrill, nasally and hard to listen to as well.
+secrettangerine From the beginning she had quite a high pitched voice, although overly cultured. I suppose as she aged and had to speak louder it got more shrill. I find the "modern" London accent to be quite enjoyable, and even funny at times.
It could be they had the same, or same line or school, of speech and elocution teachers that gave them all that strange accent. I haven't heard Kate speak, but I recall how Meek and humble Diana sounded at first. Overwhelming to have to meet those expectation!
And perhaps what we hear in these films id their "public ceremonial" voices. I hear the Queen loves a good joke, and we know about Phillip's weird sense of humor!
apm1 Oh my god!😂
