- You've seen the highlights from the 2006 Spruce meadows Six Bar competition - well here is the 2007 version - can Nick Skelton win 3 in a row? Watch and find out.
And for those that wonder the record height for the Spruce Meadows 6 Bar is 2.12metres (that's 6' 11" for the non metric).
Holy cow.....those horses and riders have COURAGE and ATHLETICISM!
Very true! That's actually the way it is meant to be ridden -- he was slow and collected coming in, but you can see he had tons of power built up underneath him in his horse's hind end to be able to get over every fence. :)
another fantastic ride from Nick skelton. these two are my absolute favorite team. I love watching them. :)

Just rewatched the video, and I'm going to correct myself in my last comment, He doesn't praise the horse at all after jumping the 2.06 meters upright. He just keeps cantering it, and slows him down. Don't get me wrong though, I'mm a big fan of his ;)

I do think Nick Skelton is an amazing rider and he has acheived so much, but he hardly ever seems too pat his horses or give them any sort of praise. I am a big fan of his, don't get me wrong, but I just think that the horse deserves more praise than he gives it. For example after jumping a very difficult treble ending with a 2.06m upright, he hardly praises the horse at all, if he does. Whereas the other competitors all patted their horses after clearing it or even having a pole. My opinion ;)

I know that xc is. But, I can asure you that show jumping is just the same. I don't know if you've done it or not, but if you haven't, you have no business saying if it is or isn't.

You nor anyone else see's what he does after the competition. He does reward the horses.
