Thank you, Carmen! I wasn't sure if it was the right lesson to publish because I was sick and not feeling 100%, but I thought that you guys had the right to see what a regular lesson looks like without any embellishments. I am happy this video is getting positive feedback so far. Hugs! 🌹
@@Teacher-Val I thought it was the best lesson ever.
I purchased the files with the games you play in class on your site and I find them amazing. you are an engaging and competent teacher.grazie tantissime!!!!
@@carmencuomo1228 Grazie, grazie, Carmen! People like you and comments like yours are what make me keep going. Thank you! 🌹
Thanks Teacher Val. How can I reward my students when I have 400 of them? Im struggling with this. You are a life saver.
Thanks, Brian! How many grades do you teach? If you have a few classes within the same grade, perhaps you can get a class competition going. Instead of awarding a team a star, you can grant a star to a whole class. Create a table to make it visual and show the students how their class is doing compared to other classes in the same grade. Given their competitiveness, taking a star system to a whole new level might be a good idea. 😉
@@Teacher-Val I’ll give it a try. I have 12 5th grade classes currently. It’s only my second week. I couldn’t do it without you teacher val

Hi teacher val, how do we teach when you don't have the electronic version of the story? thank you
Good question! 👍
Here is what I would do if I had only a storybook and blackboard.
1) Prepare flashcards that might enhance the storytelling experience.
2) Begin the lesson by introducing the title and author of the storybook.
3) Ask questions about what students see on the book cover.
4) Read the story aloud to the class, using expressive intonation and gestures to bring the characters and events to life.
5) Pause occasionally to ask comprehension questions or explain difficult words.
6) Discuss the key elements of the story with the students, such as characters, setting, plot, and lesson.
7) Encourage students to share their thoughts, opinions, and connections to the story.
8) Use the blackboard to write down the new words along with their definitions and encourage students to use them in sentences.
9) Play a vocabulary game. Any word-guessing game will work!
10) Do role-plays focusing on the scenes from the story.
11) Create artwork inspired by the story or write a dialogue or summary of the story.
@@Teacher-Val Thank you so much, Very helpful 😊
