I suggest making a spoof review video where you go into great detail about irrelevant things. Examples being thickness of cardboard box, instruction fonts, smell of plastic and maybe appearance of models on packaging. That would be a hoot.

I recently bought a light from hyggar. Arrived not working, they sent another after i told them it's not. They sent another non working light and when i reported it to them they seemed angry by the way they told me to just return to Amazon for a $ refund. I did that and will no longer buy from them.

I did one review for a Hygger light. It’s actually a decent light and my review was positive. However, Hygger wouldn’t leave me alone after that. They kept emailing wanting more reviews for what appeared to be cheap junk. If I don’t need it, I don’t want it. And there is nothing they make that I needed, other than the light. I ended up blocking their email domain. I agree there are some smaller channels that will take anything free that comes their way. Some really overdo the Hygger product reviews. I usually unsubscribe from those channels.
Leave it up. There are a few products I like however I can do without the constant pressure of Buy/Review messages. Have had both good and bad Hyggar products in the fishroom, as well as experiences with Hyggar themselves. Honesty is key thanks for keeping it real.
They reached out to my fish club and sent some products for people to try and leave reviews on Amazon. I got a light that quit working after less than a month. I put a revie on Amazon saying the light quit etc and they emailed me asking to delete the review. No offer to send another light to try, or to have me send the one vack to see if there was an issue or anything. Just, plese delete that review. I didnt.

This is why I wish that these companies would listen to the Tuber's that they reach out to. And not for the BS behind it all. If I had a Aquarium product and reached out to YTber's looking for reviews, I'd take on their crit's and inhouse look to correcting the problems from those who I'm selling to... Fish keepers like yourself, those who will honestly review my product... Can't understand why Hygger would send you a product for review and not undertake measures to address any issues that you find... Just total BS from a business sense... I wouldn't delete it. You are always honest. I told you previously about a Hygger 300w that almost killed all my SA Cichlids in my 75g after temp dropped to low 70s. Personally just would never trust them again. Glad to see you doing better also buddy. THS '91.
I feel you are completely correct, If they don't want honest reviews, then don't send products, and ask for reviews. Trying to buy positive reviews is bullshit. I use Hygger heaters, and lights, and have had good luck with them. Like them fine as entry level products. Some of their other products SUCK.

Hyggar is missing an opportunity to find out what products you thought were trash. If I were them, I would want to know what you did not like and how we could improve it. Someone must be new and not understand good business and customer relations.
One of the reasons I love your channel is your honesty when it comes to reviews. Never delete a video. If a company wants positive reviews they need to make decent products. I am a small content creator the idea of a large company reaching out does sound nice but I too am known for my honesty with my British humour. Please keep doing honest reviews.

A quick side note - your comment about guppies not needing a wave maker - of course that is absolutely true. It just made me recall a time when I moved a school of guppies into a freshwater native tank I had with a moderate flow wave maker due to a leak that happened in the guppy tank. Guess what happened! The guppies all lined up to take a ride down the current on one side of the tank and then line up again on the other side like kids on a slide. They did this all day, every day and it was so fun to watch! They also did quite a bit of spanning in the current but I can’t say if that was related or not. Let’s be honest. When are guppies not spawning? Anyway try out a moderate wave maker or even a hang on the back filter to watch the fun!
Also - glad to see you are on the mend from your bypass! It’s serious business and we all are grateful that you are taking care of yourself so we can see another guppy mut summer tubbing season!
I appreciate your honesty. The only Hyggar product I really like is the light. It's got a built in timer and is still going strong after 3 years. It's strong enough for shallower tanks. I don't think it would work on my 55 gallon. That tank is too deep. After hearing about your experience, I won't support them anymore. Grow a pair, Hyggar.
I think you made the right choice going back and clarifying that not everyone making content with Hygger products are lying, because there probably are some people who swear by them (you and i just aren't one of them). It is sad though that you even have to go back to reiterate because some people take things too literally. Haven't been around lately as I am taking a break on the hobby but still love your content. Interesting, I purchased a Hyggar light and double sponge filter based on reviews. It has only been a month, but they do exactly what it was designed to do. Hopefully it will continue.
I can always count on my friend Mike for honest reviews. 😊 I know you don't want to call out smaller channels, so I won't either... *but* I did end up purchasing two of their nano heaters, based off of 'an honest review' video showcasing them. When not one but *both* heaters shot up to 95° (Inkbird kept things safe- we took them out; tested in a 40g tub after alarms bells went off), I messaged the aforementioned CZcamsr if she's ever had that issue herself. She said she *has*- "They only sent me ten and seven of them run pretty hot but it's fine if you catch it in time." Yet she recommends them? Hmm. Didn't mention that it was even a sponsored video, which is what pissed me off. Glad you haven't had issues with their heaters (Taco ❤) but I'll only ever trust Hygger with air pumps since we've got spares. China-zon sellers are getting worse every day but your reviews are honest and true. Keep that video up and make more when you have to. Somebody's gotta have some integrity.

I stopped taking Hygger stuff just because of the admin! Any brand deals I always say I'm happy to do it but you get no say in my video - I actually quite liked most of the stuff I got but lots of follow ups saying "please change this, that the other". I get it - they're trying to maximise the promotion but how many times do I need to say no!
Man, seeing the email communication with Chinese characters, almost makes me feel it would be a ghost account. But it must be real. I agree with you, keep the video up. They can kick rocks and do other things.
For the first year and half of my experience with hygger, I absolutely loved them. Loved their light and their small watt controllable heaters. After their light did so well on my 20 long for well over a year, I started changing out my old 6 year old beamworks that were fading to the point just a raising the dimmer intensity wasnt giving my plants enough light. Then the problems started. I replaced 6 lights in about three months time. Spring hit which means high winds where I live. Electricity gets a bit bleapy because of it ...Actually outages are rare, but its very common to have flickers. Within less than a week, every single new Hygger light I had recently bought quit working due to our bleaps. The only one that survived was the original one I bought. I love what these lights do for plants and their spectrum. After doing some digging.....what happened to me is almost completely the only complaint from anyone. It seems to me that its a quality control issue...That I lost that many was pretty unlucky.... Its a cheap light...blah blah blah...But its an extremrly popular cheap light....This company has made money off their products....They should be able to fix a quality control issue at this point. Fix the Russian Roulette electrical issue and add a battery for memory save purposes, and it would be an extrordinary ligh for its price point ...Even if they charged us an extra $20, it would still be a great light for the price. I would choose it over the Coops light because I like how it makes my tank look better. Until then.....Coop for the win! Still like hyggers heaters....Ive unintentionally tested the failsafe on several of them a couple of times draining too much water forgetting to unplug. They have cut themselves off without damage and still work and keep temp.

I agree. I've had their heaters which I agree are pretty decent. I've also had some of their lights and thought they were good for the price. But just looking at some of their other stuff I could almost just tell it was crap lol. they know it too. Prolly why they want ya to delete the review.
Good for you, Michael! Stick to your guns. At least Hygger was polite in their request for you to take down that video, but if they don't like the reviews they are getting then they need to make better products. I completely understand what you mean about some content creators making reviews (usually glowing reviews) mainly as a means for getting free product and content. I understand that temptation. When I had only a little over a thousand subscribers Aqueon began sending me products for review because they liked my channel. But I made it abundantly clear to them that I would review everything openly and honestly. I ended up liking what they sent me. Even so, I pointed out in my reviews the areas where I thought those products could be improved and Aqueon respected me for that. When you see cool products arrive at your doorstep for free, the temptation as a small channel is strong though to try to charm your way into getting more. Hygger asking you to take down your video, no matter how polite they were about it, is a total weasel move. If they aren't going to stand by their products and hold them to the highest standards then they shouldn't send them to anyone for review. Keep on being you, my friend! The Force is strong with you! 😉
Amen bro I had a guy slam me for fish I sold him everyone said I should delete the comments he made but I left them up I figured he was being honest so I owned it I refunded his money and moved on but thanks for your honesty it truly makes a difference and you look great so chill that room will come in time
I've written several bad reviews for Chinese products on Amazon and always get an email from the seller asking for me to change my review. They usually offer incentives like a refund and/or a replacement product. I'd agree to it and when I got the refund/replacement, I'd update the review and, a couple of times, posted the email exchanges. LOL, the freakout emails I would get after those were fun. But I will say, I ordered a Hygger magnetic algae cleaner and it was garbage and I said as much in my review. They refunded my money without contacting me first. I saw the refund and an email came later, apologizing for the cleaner, and never asked me to change my review. After that, I splurged on the Tunze. Excellent scraper, if anyone is looking for one.
This reminds of an interview with the Queen of DIY a couple of years ago. He tried to put down (the very laid back and polite interviewer) at the very end of the interview. Couldn't help himself. To his shock the laid back interviewer called him on it. The Queen was wrong. Then followed all sorts of gaslighting and requests to delete the whole 2.5 hour interview. He then got in touch with CZcams and reported the innocent party. All bogus. But CZcams listens to the big channels... Money talks. Anyway keep on keeping on.

The other two hours is basically Joey saying how wonderful he is. 😂 Alex had the patience of a saint. Constantly being cut off. I've had three hygger heaters and all three were garbage, but I do like the three air pumps I have from them. I wanted to try Aquarium Coops heater, but I swore it was made by the same people that make the Hygger because of how similar looking it is. Now Aquarium Coop stopped selling them, coincidence? I feel a lot of reviews should be considered unboxing's because they haven't had the product long enough to truely test it and see how it holds up.
you think they would be happy that some of their products are not meeting standard then learn to try to find out why it is substandard and possible fix or remove it from their inventory.
I new friends who got same letter once my friend didn't take down bad review they sued him . Especially if you live in Canada you have do not have alott of rights and easy to sue hopefully hygger is closets your govt
I don’t think you should delete the video. The specific product they sent for the review was good and you said so. Some of their products are trash and it is a case for lot of other companies. Regardless, it is your personal opinion and they asked you for one lol.
Hygger Aquarium is a Chinese company, and they have no issues with removing negative comments from the internet so they look good. It may sound/is dishonest to Westerners, but to the Chinese it is just business. Keep to your moral standard. Say what you honestly think about the product.

I love what these lights do for plants and their spectrum. After doing some digging.....what happened to me is almost completely the only complaint from anyone.
It seems to me that its a quality control issue...That I lost that many was pretty unlucky....
Its a cheap light...blah blah blah...But its an extremrly popular cheap light....This company has made money off their products....They should be able to fix a quality control issue at this point.
Fix the Russian Roulette electrical issue and add a battery for memory save purposes, and it would be an extrordinary ligh for its price point ...Even if they charged us an extra $20, it would still be a great light for the price.
I would choose it over the Coops light because I like how it makes my tank look better. Until then.....Coop for the win!
Still like hyggers heaters....Ive unintentionally tested the failsafe on several of them a couple of times draining too much water forgetting to unplug. They have cut themselves off without damage and still work and keep temp.

I agree. I've had their heaters which I agree are pretty decent. I've also had some of their lights and thought they were good for the price. But just looking at some of their other stuff I could almost just tell it was crap lol. they know it too. Prolly why they want ya to delete the review.

Good for you, Michael! Stick to your guns. At least Hygger was polite in their request for you to take down that video, but if they don't like the reviews they are getting then they need to make better products.
I completely understand what you mean about some content creators making reviews (usually glowing reviews) mainly as a means for getting free product and content. I understand that temptation. When I had only a little over a thousand subscribers Aqueon began sending me products for review because they liked my channel. But I made it abundantly clear to them that I would review everything openly and honestly. I ended up liking what they sent me. Even so, I pointed out in my reviews the areas where I thought those products could be improved and Aqueon respected me for that. When you see cool products arrive at your doorstep for free, the temptation as a small channel is strong though to try to charm your way into getting more.
Hygger asking you to take down your video, no matter how polite they were about it, is a total weasel move. If they aren't going to stand by their products and hold them to the highest standards then they shouldn't send them to anyone for review.

I've written several bad reviews for Chinese products on Amazon and always get an email from the seller asking for me to change my review. They usually offer incentives like a refund and/or a replacement product. I'd agree to it and when I got the refund/replacement, I'd update the review and, a couple of times, posted the email exchanges. LOL, the freakout emails I would get after those were fun. But I will say, I ordered a Hygger magnetic algae cleaner and it was garbage and I said as much in my review. They refunded my money without contacting me first. I saw the refund and an email came later, apologizing for the cleaner, and never asked me to change my review. After that, I splurged on the Tunze. Excellent scraper, if anyone is looking for one.

This reminds of an interview with the Queen of DIY a couple of years ago. He tried to put down (the very laid back and polite interviewer) at the very end of the interview. Couldn't help himself.
To his shock the laid back interviewer called him on it. The Queen was wrong. Then followed all sorts of gaslighting and requests to delete the whole 2.5 hour interview.
He then got in touch with CZcams and reported the innocent party. All bogus. But CZcams listens to the big channels... Money talks.

I've had three hygger heaters and all three were garbage, but I do like the three air pumps I have from them. I wanted to try Aquarium Coops heater, but I swore it was made by the same people that make the Hygger because of how similar looking it is. Now Aquarium Coop stopped selling them, coincidence?
I feel a lot of reviews should be considered unboxing's because they haven't had the product long enough to truely test it and see how it holds up.

Hygger Aquarium is a Chinese company, and they have no issues with removing negative comments from the internet so they look good. It may sound/is dishonest to Westerners, but to the Chinese it is just business. Keep to your moral standard. Say what you honestly think about the product.
