so how do you get used to on line auctions? that doesn’t look very fun, I used to go to alot of auctions with my dad when I was younger and it was all physical, buy a bidder’s number and do your thing when it was time to
place your bid on the item you wanted, you could see the guy bidding against you, you might scratch your head and it get accidentally counted as a bid, 😂this computer stuff looks intimidating, and not very exciting, I’d have to learn it.
Best line yet, cracked me up. Maybe a good slogan for some merch. "Sure don't need it, But if the price is right." -DieselCreek
Please make this a sticker and clothing items I’ll damn sure buy it
I ask my wife: "Why do we have this thing we don't need?" Wife: "It was on sale" I have to say Matt buys much cooler stuff than my wife does.
You need that like a booze cruise !
Sums up most of my purchases
@@homelessexile8032 what are you on about
6V-71. Looks like a real time capsule there. Will definitely need some fixing.
I think someone threw some random engine parts in the cab of that Ford crane truck to keep the bidding down. Wasn’t me this time.
@trollolol i tried that once at a car auction i disconnected the ignition switch wire so it would crank but not start. thing still ended up going for quadruple what i was willing to pay
My wife actually called the local auction company and told them I had mental disturbances and no money! Now that’s low!
I had to have my friend bid for me!
Sounds like something My wife would do!
My wife told me if I RAISED my HAND she would Leave. She control's the books at home. She told me I have too to meany TOYS already.
Time to get a new wife
damn 😂😂😂😂
I have heard of some harsh treatment that, but, is just totally unreasonable.
15:22 that front winch is for a whole meriad of things, recovering yourself when you get stuck, recovering sth else thats stuck, positioning suspended pieces, also you can lift up on flipped vehicles with your boom then gently turn it upright and lower it down with the boom as opposed to yank it upright have it slam the suspension and possibly destroy something but also fixing yourself to a structure or big tree when you use the crane like a winch to recover something heavy like a truck that went all the way down a hillside
Favorite quote, Every year there seems to be less earth moving equipment here" Yeah, you keep buying it all. Looking forward to what your new shopping trip includes
Gotta be because Andrew Camarata is buying it all up.
I work in the equipment industry and I know new is tough to get and good used it hard to find also. We're selling parts like crazy due to it which means folks are hanging on to the stuff they have.
I'm figuring Matt bought himself an office trailer to turn it into an indoor workshop out at the farm.
More like a oversized dog house when his wife gets mad at him
You amaze me, Can hardly wait until the 2nd video to see what you purchased if anything. Hope you and your wife have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Can't wait for the second part. Thanks Matt for taking us along , I appreciated so much , can't wait to see what you get
me too.. looked for it but did not see it.. is it too early??
My guesses are: You bid on one or two lots of concrete cubes, put a bid in on the Terex, low balled a bid on the small loader, and maybe also one of the office or shop trailers. Looking forward to part two, Matt.
I like his choices, and I’d say the crane truck and a couple smaller things generators and or welders
Thanks for using our new song Joyride! It is the first song off of our upcoming album "Play That Rock n Roll" coming January 14th 2022!
We had a case w11b for about 18 years. We had a 10’ pusher for plowing snow snow at commercial sites. Loaded material with it during the summer. That thing never had a major mechanical issue. Unbelievably dependable machine for us.
I have really enjoyed the teaser segments at the end of your videos showing upcoming content. Great videos lately, keep it up!
Someone or a group with deep pockets is going to have a field day with this auction. I'm looking forward in seeing the Diesel Creek Tour Bus.
Party bus or mobile parts bin/work shop
@@richardbaumgart2454 It's got the Cummins 5.9 engine - that's why somebody will buy it.
@@redmondjp yes for sure Hoovie just bought a million mile pick up truck if your familiar with Hoovie's Garage
The infamous, more than famous🤣, bus tours of Diesel Creek equipment yard😂🤣😂
It's $5.00 a ticket ... Why back in my day we could take the same tour for two bits, 25¢.
I reckon you end up with another light tower thingy (cos they are really useful), a couple of mobile cement buckets (cos they were a bargain), that crane truck cos no one bid on it, and a porta cabin of some description - possibly the toilet block (because it would be handy up at your storage yard site).
Thanks for bringing us along with u to the Auction, i really enjoyed this Matt.
Matt, you know you have an equipment addiction when you tell your friend, "if your wife asks where we went, tell her we went to the casino and I lost my money shooting craps."
11:23
It’s for dewatering usually you put a media like carbon or whatever you’re using(in the big black tank) to filter the water you’re moving! There’s a valve at the bottom with a screen and the water usually runs from that to bag filters and then to a drainage.
Drug
YES seen those on site run off ponds. They run the water through the shed filters to storm system on right of way roads.
Awesome! a new Diesel Creek video when I'm at my desk done with all my morning work and still need to finish my coffee! Heck yeah!!
Pretty cool stuff at the auction Matt. The little stand on behind loader is cool. Kodi Bass who has an outboard repair shop up in Kodiak Alaska has one to keep the snow off his driveway but to also chain up outboard off the bucket to move around to store and work on. Very handy. Just have to watch how much load to keep them from falling on their face.
D'you know, it makes my day when I know I have a new Diesel Creek video to watch!
I really enjoy going to the Richey Brothers Auction yard with you & seeing all of the items up for auction ! I think you also got the small bus ! Thanks Matt !
Sometimes looks r deceiving
Love it. Best to get 'good' stuff at 'junk' prices.
Enjoy the channel, keep the videos coming!
Thanks! Will do!
@@DieselCreek i know the ritchie brothers there from nova scotia canada wich they own the auction places all over canada and usa
Man O man...
I sure spend a lot of time in the seat of a Terex 82-20. Moved a lot of dirt and pit run material for crushing plant. Nice machine to work with, great blade visibility, and comfortable steering clutch position.
Merry Christmas, Matt. Thanks for all the great vids.
Now I want to know what you scored. Bring out part two asap please. Loved looking at all the equipment with you. 👍
I am feeling the same way LOL.
I'm going with the Cat dozer that says "you can't fix stupid" on the blade.
The words on that blade are just daring him to try to fix it. I bet he bought it.
...I agree... nobody will bid on it because of that writing, perfect!
Good bet, totally agree!
If it was possible Matt would be the one to fix it.
Thanks Matt have a Merry Xmas to your family too 🥳🥳🎉🎉🎊🎊 Happy New Year 👍👍🍻🍻
Whowa yes they have alot of pieces there, we have noticed the auctions growing larger out here too
Thanks Matt.
Central California Watching
Where do spare parts always come from? "Bud" takes something apart, puts it together again, and has "extra parts left over". Of course, if he's like my grandfather the thing still works, but just has a new quirk you get to discover and adjust for. Usually it didn't make anything (even) more unsafe to use.
Best start to my day
Watching these videos makes me kinda happy we don't have an auction lot close by, way to much temptation! Can't wait to see what you bought!
We were laughing at the "cant fix stupid" on the dozer blade when we stopped out to check out what was there lol
Concrete blocks, the bus and I'm kind of pulling for the Terex.
Spotted that green and knew it was a Terex right off as one of the local Chicago area outfits was really big on Terex equipment so as a kid Terex units were almost as common as Cat.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Matt.
Yes I'm kinda hoping for the Terex I love anything with a Detroit!
As my friend would say" Two elephants for a quarter is a good deal, if you need two elephants and you have a quarter"!
I've never went to an Auction before, but MAN do i want to now.
Seeing you look at all kinds of cool things. Awsome.
These auction vids are my favorite!! Keep them up!
Red stitched leather trim, oh this is a racing model. 🤣🤣🤣
That last short scene (at about 35:00), where they are loading a big piece of flat steel onto a flatbed. Note the two 2x4s placed underneath.
Have you priced wood, lately? Really, you are buying the 2x4s, and the steel is just a gimmie to hold them down. ;) Ha!
I LOVE the auction yard type videos!
I'm guessing you bought the Terex dozer, thats what the flat steel plate is for!! The bathroom trailer setup would be a nice addition to your workshop in the woods, some of them have haz-mat showers, easily converted to a regular hot water shower,a small generator for in the back of the work truck, maybe a rack of welders( if their priced cheap enough),to use or for parts.😎😎😎
YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID BUT YOU CAN SUBSCRIBE TO IT!
I thank you I'm here all week 😁
Hope you bought something we can all comment on, keep the videos coming and stay safe and healthy.👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'd certainly enjoy watching you get that Terex and that crane-truck up and going!
One thing about the rad being in the front, if you happen to be working in the middle of winter in an open cab, for some unknown reason, you can turn the fan around so it blows hot air back towards the cab, we did that on a little D4 and it worked great while clearing old firebreaks
We call them coffin blocks at my work. Drivers that come back with extra concrete from a job pour it into forms so it doesn’t go to waste. They’re about 1 yard each, between 3-4k pounds and I think they sell em for like 20 bucks each. I load tons of them each week
Our local concrete company wants $350 each for those blocks, i needed 8 one time was going to use for a retaining wall but not for that price lol. $100 i would have went along with it but $350 for mix and match batches of wasted concrete....no thanks.
20$? That’s crazy
We call them dead men, same job use .
I have thought about using some, or some Jersey barriers (those concrete barricades they put between interstate highway Lanes) to make a foundation/first floor wall for a shop/barn. A number of farmers around here use them as silage pits. They stack them up and dump the green chop in there. They then cover it with plastic tarps and weigh them down with old tires or railroad ties.
@@kevinbaker6168 In the UK scrap concrete railway sleepers (railroad ties for US folk) are often used for rough foundations. Also great for retaining walls on slopes, track ways across boggy ground and to use as front/back mountings for shipping containers (put two at the front and you get a nice step too). Has the advantage that if needed you can shift them single handed with a pinch bar (slow but I've done it myself).
We had some of those 4-pack racks of Miller welders at my tech school, crazy to see them sitting outside uncovered.
Are those just storage racks, or do you have to use them in those cabinets stacked up like that (like for a big group project)? Never seen that before.
@@Calamity_Jack in our application we had 2 4-packs side by side powering a whole row of booths.
This is exactly what I needed on a Thursday morning keep up the great work
Hi Matt, happy holidays my friend! We are out shopping for some items for the family dinner and while the wife is doing that, I'm out in the truck with our two chihuahuas checking out your video. Yep, I'm hooked!! 😉👍🎄
Gotta Love a good Auction!
One of the things I like about your channel (apart from everything) is you ask to give it a thumbs up after you have watched it, unlike most others that ask you to give it a thumbs up at the beginning, why would anyone do that, it might not be thumbs up worthy.
Matt videos all get a thumb up
@@warrenklingensmith1241 Too right, never seen a dull one yet.
If your subscribed to said channel already, give them the stupid thumbs-up, and then tell them what you honestly thought, your a douche if you just thumbs-down a video, I never down-vote a video from someone I'm subscribed to.
@@jerryb1234 I reserve the right to down vote ... by just not voting.
Awesome. I frequent their location in Nisku, Ab. Always something to be had!
Inside the connex was a mud vacuum. Used on oilfield locations to keep mud sucked up on the rig floor or wherever mud isn’t supposed to stay.
"She's had a few hot suppers" NEEDS to be on some shirts! LOL.
"The price of trucks is just astronomical right now."
Tell me about it. When you're looking at the 2500 and up range, It's often cheaper to pick up a used one and fix it up than it is to buy a new one. Buyer beware though, when you're picking up a used truck, with the exception of liquidation sales, it's almost always somebody else's problem (pickups, especially), and you'll be spending some time either under the hood, or ripping apart the transmission to replace the clutch packs because people don't know what the gears are for.
really enjoy your vlogs watching from Ireland. can't wait to see what you bought at the auction.
Matt, part two is definetly needed till Christmas! The best would be to see it on the 25th of December, when i have time to watch.
I´m very excited to see what you have bought.
The VOLVO excavator would be nice and the old Euclid/ Terex Crawler ;-)
Cant wait to see the result of your christmas shopping tour!!
Greeting from Germany, have a nice Christmas time with your family
Hope to see/ hear from you soon
Joe
As the owner of a small time ISP, Ritchie Bros is a lifesaver when it comes to buying gear. Can't afford it new, renting is expensive, but quality used equipment? Gets the job done just fine. Assuming the guys who owned it before you weren't dickheads and beat the snot out of it.
RB and the like are a godsend man, if not for scabby auctioneers and trash day I'd be broke *AND* have no dang tools. I may be broke but at least I got the tools, lol. And I really do wonder how much that fantastic crane truck went for in the end? :)
the good ole ritchie brothers the maritime canada boys from nova scotia
Something odd going on here. This comment is word-perfect the same as the top comment by "dark". Methinks there are bots at work here, or something equally sinister. Pretty weird and creepy.👎😒
@@2H80vids I have heard that the channel "dark" has been copying other's comments and positing it, often getting more likes because its a verified channel. I have also heard that channel is a bought channel, use to do videos but got bought by someone else, at least, from what I hear.
If your a real person, please reply, because I believe your comment got stolen by a channel that goes by "Dark" which is an account that was purchased, already having over 300k subs and was verified. This often means it's comments, although copies, are more popular due to the real checkmark, than the original poster's comment.
Auction days are the best days !
Nice pic there Mr DC looks like you really like that little unit hope you got it buddy something else to add to the fleet but you got to get to the auto car finished waiting to see that thing done congrats man
The purpose of the power source at the end of the boom on the grove crane is for attachments such as pile driving, drilling etc.
The Terex looks really sweet! I hope that shows up on your farm soon :)
Wonder y the breather wasn't on
Good morning Matt and thumbs UP to you !!
Thanks 👍
the winch up front called a tugger was normally used for pilling the bundle out of a heat exchanger in refineries or chemical plants. done that for a good many years.
Love your acumen as to what is workable.
Hey matt some of us like the longer video's you do i hope you get what ever you want thanks for great video's
After delivering a load to the Ritchie Brother's in Atlanta I've been meaning to set up an account. Just this morning I won the bid on a truck at Copart. I'm a nervous wreck hoping it was worth it. Posted a video of the online bidding. I only know two guys in Pennsylvania, and the other one would never buy a Ford...
Merry Christmas to you and Chat 🎄🎄🎄🍸🎄🎄🎄
You guys have amazing machines on auctions and tractors 🚜, cars and trucks 🚚 left in farms for many years
That dozer with the note"can't fix" had your name all over it. I was sure you were going to take it home.
Just remember Matt , it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission !! And we won’t tell the wife !!LOL Hope you and the family have a Merry Christmas !!
I'm really hoping you managed to get that one decent mobile office thing. Be a great addition for the farm shop! And, maybe even the short bus. Don't know what you'd use it for, but I have a feeling it would be fun to see what you come up with!
In England they get a bit of land and fill with shipping containers , fence it off and hire out storage .
I’m sure your wife would love that cute little loader 😀
I'm sure she would love the school bus "what the hell you buy that for??"
Damn! Now the suspense will be killing me! 😂. My guess is you bought the dozer and at the end of the video you are picking up the steel to patch the blade
That's where I'd put mt money
Yep...that's my thinking
Nice observation
On the grove crane that front winch and generater were added by the owner but some grove cranes did have lpg engines my dad said they never really ran 100% he did welding, grinding, and operated cranes on there test track. On another note i saw that universal dry cement bulk truck use to work for them wouldnt be saprizzed if i drove that truck before
I enjoy these videos. There's no way I'm buying any of these monsters but we can live vicariously through the Diesel Creek!
G'day Matt,,,
Best wishes to you & your lady for a safe n Happy Christmas.....
Siincere thanks for entertaining myself & the faithfull throughout the year .. The vids have been just fabulous , really looking foward to 2022.
Errrr ,,,,, what you really need is a broken dowm crane truck, something different....

Down Under
They had a pile of those Dillon tankers at the Atlanta auction a few weeks ago. A lot of them went for less than 300 bucks. I do wish their timed auction was more like ebay and once it ran out of time, then that's it. Adding time to an item gets really nerve racking.
It's a scam
Excellent video Matt :) also that Terex one surprises me you did say that from Transformers cartoon TV show series from 1980's and 1986 movie in the video also say There a Deceptions Construction robot called Crapelle to hear at sale Lol and lots goodies at Ritchie Bros sales always too and like dozer blade said too Lol!
Love to go to one of those auctions
Best moment "la bataria es no bueno" 😂 youre the best Matt
Hi Matt, I'm guessing you got the Terex dozer judging by the purchase of what looks to me like 1/4" steel plate to repair the blade? Loving the channel 👍
Just a note I just saw a video where Matt has a 977 BLADE he has loaned to his buddy and it has No ROPS, and he just got a big sheet of 1/4 “ and 4pcs of 1/4 wall 4x4 for building the ROPS .(The sheet of 1:4” was for the roof and gussets of the ROPS), May just be co-incidence but very well could be what he was getting the “ sheet “ for when leaving the Auction..........
What do you think of my idea about the sheet of 1/4 “ plate ......????
Does it curve there
Thanks Matt for taking us through the auction. Liked the trucks and excavators…
The wire spool on the crane will shut down the engine if an operator runs the block into the upper sheave, the vacuum pump tank is to clean synthetic drilling mud from drill rig floor and other areas, its made from 50% mineral oil ,so you need to be sure its clean ,you don't need the DEP visiting you!
love these vids matt. keep em up!
I liked the 'they sell good stuff too'...while watching it during editing I could see how you might think - sh&t, I don't want Ritchie Bros or others thinking I'm talking trash about them'... :)
Speaking of the 1980 Autocar love to see you work on that and ofcourse the 57 blue beauty, and see Christine up and grading roads the future is going to be awesome
Very intriguing video and what a tease!
Matt just goes to the Auctions to play with the toys.
Wish I had a Richies Brothers in my town.
Thank you for the video Matt.
Love your channel Matt, your chat is very entertaining 👍👍👍
Love your videos good job
Glad you like them!
I would like to see you get two good 40 foot containers cut off one side on each and make a great work shop. Your excavator could be replaced if the price is right. But what the heck are you going to do with a school bus? Love your channel watch them all. Any gator rims at the auction?
I love those little ride behind baby buckets
By the teaser clip at the end of the video where you're picking up some flat plate steel I'd say you got the Terex D700A...
Anything with cummins.. yes please!
I’d be sleeping in the dog house if I went to that auction and broke
Love these auction videos
