- A day in one of the most BEAUTIFUL AREAS IN BAVARIA: LAKE CONSTANCE & LINDAU// Hello from beautiful Bavaria! We spent a whole day in Lindau at Lake Constance (Lindau am Bodensee) to explore this stunning town and the biggest German lake which connects Germany, Switzerland and Austria. It's a very popular area for tourists and we can totally see why. It goes without saying that it's also an amazing place to live! We explored the town centre, did a gorgeous cruise on the Bodensee and of course had to visit a beer garden to enjoy some traditional German food. Before we drove back to the Swabian Jura, we stopped in Wasserburg Bodensee which is only about a 10 minute drive from Lindau and extremely picturesque! It is very easy to notice that Germans take exceptional pride in their country! My Father and his parents are from Hamburg and they also were.... I guess you would say " perfectionist ". It always left me in awe at how organized they were! A great sense of humor as well !Germany sure is amazing and beautiful 😍

I loved everything about your visit to Lake Constance and Lindau! I can't travel, but I would love to have dreams about such nice places with lakes, mountains and beautiful buildings. I'd definitely hang out for an hour or two in a beer garden chatting with friends (and of course, enjoying pretzels and beer!), and I'd take a boat tour for sure.
Coming from Australia it's indeed something different to be able to stand in one spot & see three different countries at once.
If you look very closely, you might even be able to spot a fourth country from that spot: Liechtenstein.

I love Germany. In 2004, my dear late husband and I spent a month in Fictenau with his brother and family. We got to visit Schwabisch Hall, Crailsheim, Dinkelsbuhl, Ellwangen, Rothenburg on der Tauber and down to the Neuschwanstein Castle. The towns and villages are simply delightful. We ate way too much. I want to return one day soon.

This brings back lovely memories of a holiday back in 1987 when my husband and I enjoyed the same cruise on just such a lovely day. We also went on to visit the lovely island of Mainau. It was just a thoroughly wonderful time. I trust that many years from now you too will remember this holiday fondly. 🌷🌷🌷

Oh this video is SO SO SPECIAL to me - my maternal Great Great Grandmother Ohneberg came to the U.S from Bavaria and her brother moved from there to Hard, Austria on Lake Constance and I am so thrilled to see this. I will never afford to travel there. Bless you both.

This is such a Beautiful place - I went in 2015 to Bregenz and saw Turandot performed on the stage in the lake and I also took a boat trip to Lindau - loved every minute of it.

So much enjoyed this video of the Bodensee area. My late (American) husband and I visited Germany in 2005 and this area was definitely a highlight of the Vaterland. It was nice for me to remember the great time we had there together.

Oh I love that you're currently in Bavaria as well, it's our fave place as we once lived there (worked in Munich) and whenever we drove home it, it was like going on vacation because the scenery was simply breathtaking.

Wonderful! I live near Munich and visited Lindau exactly 2 weeks ago ! Lovely to revisit it with you! It was strange to see the Bavarian lion covered in red " streamers", wasn`t it. Apparently it is an art project to encourage people to view things " in a different way". I`m off to my home country for another visit soon,including Devon and Cornwall.Can`t wait!

Oh, I just love, love, love German food! All the fancy gourmet fare in the world is nothing when compared with good, hearty, spiced meats, sausages and sauces!

We were in Bavaria today! In the beautiful town Mittenwald. Lindau is now one I'm adding to the list. It and the Bodensee sind sehr schön. I'm glad that Jörg had weißwürste as that's on my food bucket list and I had no idea you were supposed to peel it. I think I saw a wayside shrine during your drive to Wasserburg which I didn't know existed until we did this trip to Austria. Thank you for this lovely video! Cheers, Ian

Go Joerg! Second breakfast!! Seriously, having a fresh Bavarian pretzel and a slice of delicious cake for breakfast sounds FABULOUS! I haven't had that white sausage yet, so I'll refrain from forming an opinion on that until I try it ;-) I don't usually eat sausage but I recently tried 3 kinds of local sausage in Austria at my friend's house and it was delicious! Bon appetite!
Hahaha yes! Oh do try the 'Weißwurst' with the sweet mustard, I think you will enjoy it, it's good to make an exception when on vacation.

Aldi in the US or Lidis abroad sells white German sausages. I don't know how authentic they are but I don't eat them often as high in fat.

We spent our autumn 🍁 vacation at the Bodensee some years ago. It was an amazing experience with the medieval castle, palaces, precious little towns, Lake Constance ferry, and Mainau! 💕 Thank you Kirsten and Joerg. 🤗

Lindau is beautiful. I worked there vor over 20 years, and still often there visiting friends. Luckily i live only a few kilometres away.
Actually, that was still the Austrian side when you pointed to the supposedly Swiss side...
In front of it is the Rhine, whose dam juts far into the lake and behind it is the so-called Rhine delta (Austria), which extends to the "Old Rhine" - and there the Old Rhine forms the border to Switzerland ;-)
The hills and mountains behind it are already in Switzerland.

In the years I was fortunate enough to visit different countries in Europe many times, I really enjoyed the small boat rides. Often there is an opportunity to rest from walking (important for me) but also to see the city from a different perspective. Calmer somehow, as I remember it. I never got to visit Germany so I particularly enjoy this opportunity to visit certain spots with you.
I can't believe your video ends with a cat!!! Right before we left Mittenwald, we met a cat and Ian was petting it before we got in the car and drove back to Austria! I guess Bavaria is a place for CATS!!! Too bad I couldn't speak German to the one I met. I just said "kitty kitty" haha

What a lovely place and happy memories for Joerg. Germany is the country after the USA and South Africa that I have visited the most. Have family in the Koln/ Bonn area and also been down to Muinchen for winter sports and the Christmas Markets. Would love to visit Lake Constance reminds me of the Italian Lakes.
It's such a gorgeous place to visit, can highly recommend! The Köln/Bonn area is also very nice, Köln is a charming place. We lived near Munich once and Bavaria is our fave place.

Germany is beautiful! What I love about most European countries is that they have plenty of outdoors seating for just enjoying the scenery and outdoor seating for eating.

The Constance lake is gorgeous and had a such a beautiful turquoise color ! The town of Lindau is stunning with its beautiful big colored and decored houses...I think we have such beautiful places in Europe to see, even if we will not had enough time to see everything...your video makes us dream...
