  • These $22.00 Outdoor Cargo Zip Pants from Wrangler are the best I have ever owned! I've used almost every brand available, and these have everything I'm looking for in a summer outdoor, backpacking, hiking, wet wading pant. They are comfortable, light weight, but still offer some leg protection from rocks, things you find off trail. They dry quickly and are super durable...I used them for 2-months of fly fishing, camping, hiking and backpacking during my summer road trip thru 4 states.

    Totally agree! Those Wranglers are my go-to backpacking pants. Wicking, water resistant, quick drying , wind blocking, great deep pockets in the right places, roll up cuffs (with snaps!), flexible, comfortable…The best feature, though, is the waist band liner. It grips so well that even with a heavy pack load, the pants won’t slip. If you hike regularly, you know how much that matters. Best twenty bucks on clothing you’ll ever spend.
    Good job.

    So I'm a land surveyor and I will say these are great for the summer. The only draw back is the nylon is susceptible to rips from thorns walking through brush. They definitely do dry quick and are lightweight. They also make a winter version that's fleece lined and great for the winter months too.

    LOL, I just bought two pair for my husband a couple of days ago. He's getting ready to leave for a Florida trip. I own 4 pair of Eddie Bauer pants that retail around $90-100 per pair (bought on sale). Totally love them and was going to try and find a couple for him. These are almost duplicates of the Bauer pants! No way, but I checked everything. Except for the heavier waistband and OMG giant button closure - the material is exactly the same. They're also double stitched and overlapped so they won't unravel. They are a bargain. Got his at Wal-Mart. Even the colors matches mine.

    Great timing on this video Drew. I’ve been rewinding your videos back and forth trying to determine what type of waders you were wearing for those 3 mile hikes to out of the way streams and just could never tell. Do you wet wade most of the streams you hike to in the Colorado and Wyoming summers? Can I ask what wet wading shoes you’re using and what socks? Do you hike back to the truck in wet socks and boots? Sorry for all the questions. Maybe these will be answered in the sequel.

    I've been wearing Wrangler pants for about 2 decades now. I agree with you on these pants, but they are my 2nd favorite from Wrangler. My favorite are the Rip-Stop version of their cargo pants. That probably has more to do with my size than anything because I'm a big dude. The cargo style gives me a little more room. We hunt and fish in these things with no issues. They use to be $17, but still well worth the money at the current price of $22-24. I wear these most of the summer wet wading as well and only use waders in bigger tail waters.

    Man ! I have been wearing those for several years. It's hard to find them in my size . The only thing I don't like is, the button . All outdoor stuff should be easy to repair in the field . Add a sew on button and you have the perfect outdoor pant that you can buy four of for the price of one of the others ....... Stop telling people while we can still get them . 😁

    My favourites are the LL Bean quick dry pants. They run for $80-90 retail but I got some for $10 at an outlet in Maine (Marked down to $20 on the 50% off rack). Super comfortable, durable and dry out quickly.

  • @Squeaks557

    I bought a pair earlier this year for wet wading after a fellow fisherman told me about them. Not the best for skinny guys either as it took like 8 walmarts to find any in stock in smaller sizes. 🤣 They're good, but you still can't beat the prana zions IMO.

    • @LooknFishy
      @LooknFishy  Před 2 lety

      I wonder if that's more a supply chain issue but for sure any unique (big/tall or skinny) might be hard to find in stock. The good thing is I ordered 3 of the 4 I have online (2 before I posted the vid to be sure the links were reliable), and they shipped free to my house. No chance I could visit 8 stores. We only have 1 Walmart in my county...the next closest is over 40 miles away...so I consider ship to store or home a huge bonus.

    I've gone from Wrangler, to Carhartt to Fjallraven. Wrangler and Carhartt wore out too quick. The fjallraven are the most comfortable too.

    • @LooknFishy
      @LooknFishy  Před 2 lety

      Man, I have not had that experience. I wore these almost daily for 7 straight weeks camping, hiking, sleeping etc and not so much as a torn thread or worn cuff, knee or pocket. Been super impressed with the durability. Haven't tried the Fjallraven...need to look at those!

      @@LooknFishy lots of reviews on here. They're unbelievable. All the hikers, bushcrafters, and outdoorsy people wear them. Great for fishing too, yardwork, anything you can throw at them.

    I've been very disappointed with these pants. They fit well, lightweight, comfortable as can be. My problem is that the threads are coming apart in the pockets and waist. Walmart will not refund or exchange if they have been worn. I still have several pairs but will not ever buy another pair of these.

    • @LooknFishy
      @LooknFishy  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Weird...I'm still wearing the same 3 from 4 yrs ago. But I've noticed recently the quality of other pants has gone down. I bought online the same 2 cargos in Jan...same size and one was atleast a full size in waist and inseam too big!

    • @miconn69
      @miconn69 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yeah, I'm wearing a pair of the shorts now. I have bought several pair but it has just started becoming an issue. It's annoying because these have been my favorites. I recently bought the Wrangler ATGs from Target and will see if they do any better, but I'm done buying these from Walmart. They won't stand behind them.
