I love space exploration because there are alot of mysteries, unknowns out there that we have yet discovered and this movie is about that! Can't wait to see!!
As a physicist and engineer kind of person, Armageddon actually makes me cringe so hard, 2012 was alright. I have a feeling this is going to make me cry. I'm fine with sci-fi and fantasy such as Interstellar- that was brilliant. But the Martian is my favorite space movie of all time. It follows almost all of the rules and has good, believable acting and tells an amazing story that could genuinely happen one day, the portrayal of space and space exploration is incredible. Those are real movies to me. Armageddon and this, is probably just for the general public who don't know what's going on tbh.

They had to rush it. And yes some of the acting is terrible. But this is one of the best “scifi” films ever made. Because all this could genuinely be our history. The strange thing is. I had hypothesized this exact story line years ago. So for me. Its rather freaky to watch. Even the ferromagnetic ai robot.

For example like John carter of mars is a great movie but they did a bad marketing and couldn't reach their expectations, instead of fixing their marketing problems, they decide to drop the sequel over all.

Action Movies are not Stupid! Calling a movie "dumb" or "stupid" is subjective. If a movie is fun and entertaining, it's worth watching. There are lots of very smart movies in this genre, too!
I'll be watching this. Disaster, alien, and zombie movies are a guilty pleasure. This movie has 2 out of three.. CGI is questionable but if I sat through Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City, I most certainly can watch this with feet kicked up.

Some of the effects I saw in the preview at Spider-Man No Way Home in Theaters I thought were pretty awesome. You can never really judge a movie by its trailers. Marvel isn't the only one out there intentionally making trailers look different from what the movie actually shows. Just my two cents. For all I know you could be dead on.

Wish this got a better writing team during production. Just finished watching it. Not good and not bad, but definitely iconic. This is the greatest original sci-fi concept I've seen for a movie in a long while and the visuals are absolutely stunning. If the story's writing had been better I believe this movie would have been a huge success like Sci-fi standouts such as Elysium or Passengers.
It would still lack the Gravitas of those two films. I did enjoy the comical aspects of this movie
Elysium was fun but I was let down by passengers.... expected more.

This movie was a real roller coaster to me. I didn't expect much, and it was indeed slow and shaky at the start. But the movie just kept getting better as the apocalypse started, the camera work was incredible! The several plot twists near the end were beautifully done, and that ending was truly amazing. Very enjoyable movie! ❤
To me, that is the reverse. The beginning half to me was great, it felt like a solid disaster movie. Then it just turned insane. I bet you I could pin point the moment it went wrong. In fact, I will, the exact moment after the ground cracking scene is when the movie turned bad.
The cat *ew* *eww* in the end and how they reached back earth through the moon by a parachute cracked me up. I thought it was supposed to be a serious movie..😂😂

Okay! It gets a 5.5/ 10 (would have gotten a 6.7, just started to have more stupid things happening, the further it went on). Some horrible lines of dialogue, many illogical things happened, pacing was all over the place. However, some really good shot compositions, was a bit entertaining. All in all. You still deserve a cookie. 🍪

Watched it in cinema today with my gf, we both enjoyed every minute of it. It's a very dumb but also very entertaining movie. It's an Emmerich. You love it or hate it, but it doesn't deserve to tank at the box office as it probably will judging from the first weekend numbers. This is popcorn cinema at its best.

I'll be honest, when I first watch the trailer, I thought it was rubbish. But, after watching the movie, wanting to give it a try, and rewatching the trailer again, I found that I enjoyed it more than the first time. Great movie and worth the time to watch it.
I like it too - I think it´s because it was well written and produced. Things might not be scientifically correct or plausible, but as a fiction product, the movie needs to provide some sort of answer to the storylines they are presenting. This one delivers - it has a beginning, a middle, and an ending that is a crowd-pleaser..
