Chris Pine stars in the action-packed thriller as Special Forces Sergeant James Harper, who is involuntarily discharged from the Army and cut-off from his pension. In debt, out of options and desperate to provide for his family, Harper contracts with a private underground military force. I just watched The Contractor. EXCELLENT. Movies today are boring but Saleh avoided all pitfalls and delivered an EXCELLENT action thriller. I hope a James Harper series comes forward from this. I want to know if the mongers move forward with the pandemic. I want to see what else is hiding in the shadows that Harper overcomes.
I was expecting something on par with "Hell or High Water." This was not bad but it lacked a cohesive story.
Chris and Ben were excellent together in Hell or High Water. I'll watch this to see if they bring that same chemistry.

That's' a hell of a cast. Ordinarily I wouldn't pay much attention to this kind of movie, but given the people involved, I'm looking forward to it.

The movie barely had any action scenes.
I had never really seen any movies with Chris Pine in it but since watching All The Old Knives, I’ll watch every single movie he’s in! Watching this one next!
I wish Kiefer would do another 24 and give the character a definitive conclusion.

This movie is so much better than the trailer makes it look. I was genuinely surprised at how gripping this movie was. I came in expecting it to be okay or subpar but it was excellent. These actors really sold this, it feels like a real story. I kept pausing it and doing other stuff early in but once I reached a certain point, I could not stop watching.

I agree that it was better than expected, but I wish it was up to 30 minutes longer. It felt like some parts of the story were cut too short, it lacked some of the build-up needed. But that's more or less the only major complaint I have about this movie!

Yeah, lean little thriller. Not the frenetic, bombastic shit that passes for thrillers nowadays. Very well acted.
There are dumb actions like when those cops walked out in the open in the first firefight, coming to dead biologist's family for his stuff, best bud walking in the open (why the hell does everybody love walking in the open during firefight???) at the end, those enemies at the extraction point moving while fire full automatic (you would think they know better to fire in short bursts cuz they're pretty much experts), the cops apprehending the team's van driver in the middle of the firefight
If the guys who produced this also did Sicario and John Wick you know it’s gonna be good.

This is getting lots of negative evaluations but in my opinion it's a damn good movie. Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Donald Sutherland, Eddie Marsan a fine British actor; very strong cast that pulls off a fine suspenseful movie.

I'd say this is more of an Amazon Prime level movie, and if you go in with that level of expectation then it's pretty good. Yes, it's nothing new and been done tons of times. Overall, it's a solid movie that should've been picked up by one of the streaming services. I enjoyed it for what it is. A decent thriller with some action, and solid acting. I gave it a 6.8/10.

Solid Tactical Movie, these are the kinda movies I love, very realistic.... great dialogues, beautiful performances from all actors and a wonderful story. Will say it has some great directing too.
That's what I'm saying. Calling this an "action" movie puts it in the sane arena as the avengers, saving private Ryan, and so on. However, as a tactical movie it is for sure above average. Sure, it's no John wick, but then again it's much more grounded then those films.
This isn't my type of movie but I'll watch for Gillian Jacobs. I love that woman.

The Contractor (2022)
After being involuntarily discharged from the U.S. Special Forces, James Harper (Pine) decides to support his family by joining a private contracting organization alongside his best friend (Foster) and under the command of a fellow veteran (Sutherland). Overseas on a covert mission, Harper must evade those trying to kill him while making his way back home.
That was a nice short movie. So much time saved by watching this "chronological summary trailer".
