Getting rid of 465 items in 30 days | HUGE 30-DAY declutter challenge

- Come declutter with me as I embark on an epic 30-day challenge to get rid of 465 items in my house! I love having a simple and less cluttered home, but I have always struggled with actually letting go of my belongings.
I found that I needed a structured challenge to hold me accountable and actually force me to toss things. Watch along for a long & chatty top-to-bottom clean-out of my toiletries, household goods, electronics, pet supplies, decor, old paperwork & documents, kitchen items, clothing, and more!
An important part of this challenge to me was decluttering in a way that was as sustainable and responsible as possible. I was thrilled to be able to declutter dozens of items through my local Buy Nothing group (buynothingproject.org/), Little Free Library (littlefreelibrary.org/) and my local food bank. I also gifted items to Value Village and other donation-accepting facilities.

Would you try a decluttering challenge like this one? 👀 Hope this gets you inspired for some spring cleaning! ☀🏡
I like how you went out of order! In the end, it all works out.
Great job! As a minimalist myself l remember the beginning is the most motivating but also the MOST tiresome!!
Yess this is exactly how it feels!
Precious moments 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi I’m Carol… I really loved your video! You kept it interesting by mixing up the numbers and it felt so satisfying to see you pulling the post its off the wall each day! Way to go out with a bang on the last day! 💓🤩👏😊💓
Thank you so much for following along, the post its were SUCH a good dopamine boost haha 🤣
My weight fluctuates year to year too…by 50 lbs even. I keep multiple sizes. The ones that don’t currently fit go into a bin or in a drawer under my bed. I personally don’t agree with tossing all of those clothes for people like us. I have, however, been pairing down the pieces I no longer like or that have holes and things like that.
Yesss this is it exactly! If I know I'm going to have to just go buy new sized up or down jeans in a year anyway, may as well just keep the ones I have that are still in good shape! It's definitely more of a hassle having to keep things in multiple sizes but makes sense if we do legitimately get use out of them!
New sub here. Love finding fellow single mid 30s women on here. Love the super chill vibe 😊
Omg you just made my day, thank you so much! 💜
I reused some Apple product boxes as drawer organizers since they are sturdy. The larger ones were recycled.
This is such a great idea!! They're perfect for little desk drawer organizers and things like that 😍
I’m extremely excited for you in this phase of your life ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thank you for sharing this process for us all to be inspired by 🙏✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨let’s go! 😊
Nice job!!
I dont have much trouble getting rid of stuff...my problem is bringing more stuff in...I work at a second hand store and soooo much cool stuff comes in...
Omggg that would be game over for me 😅 I love nothing more than a good thrift shop find!
Way to go girl 😊
This was so inspiring. I may have to try this. Thank you for this video.
Ahh I'm so glad to hear that, you're so welcome! Happy decluttering 💜
Amazon has a recycling program and also Best Buy takes the cords and stuff.
Ooh this is so good to know, thank you! 🙏
Dress the body you have. You can always buy new clothes. Let it go.
I hear you. But I hate buying clothes 🤷♀️ I would rather do literally anything else. For items I am certain I'll never use again, totally. Let them go. But a lot of these clothes I have worn within the last year and I feel like that's pretty recent. My weight has fluctuated again and I know I will wear some of those items again this summer. I don't see a ton of value in things going to a landfill that I could pretty reasonably wear again. That's just for me! I understand for others, the value they get out of getting rid of these items is worth it, it's just not for me 💜
Hi, I’m also in Toronto, what is the app that you donate for free in your neighborhood.
It's just through FB groups! There's a whole bunch of different Buy Nothing groups in TO so you can look up the one specific to your neighbourhood 😊
The Buy Nothing Groups are great. I started using my one in the GTA during Covid. All of the thrift shops and charity shops were closed so I would just share photo of the item and coordinate date and time to pick up. I’d leave item in box or bag and put the person’s name on it. I wouldn’t have to be home or answer the door and the item would just be taken. That way I avoided contact during the worst contagious periods. Also be careful when sharing address. Only do through DM.
I’m a decluttering junkie.😂😂😂 I’ve been slowing decluttering for a while so play different games to motivate myself. I am going to subscribe to your channel. I also have a tiny channel and would love it if you popped over and subscribed. Be warned mine is about luxury and contemporary handbags, etc. It kind of defeats alot of what your channel stands for. That being said, I’m older and have always been financially responsible. Now that I’m 61 I’m wanting to declutter but just keep the things I love like my handbags.🥰😂
I play the minimalism game every month and I mean EVERY month. I start out great but of course eventually slow down. If I don’t finish the month….which I never do I just start up again. I don’t work so this is a bit of a hobby for me and keeps me on my minimalism journey. I do like the idea (which I’ve used) if you find 13 items one day just tick day 13 off. The end of the month is difficult. I’m not afraid to say I will throw a receipt in the garbage and call it one item.😂
@@Debbiesdilemmas LOL so relatable, I was throwing out receipts, post-its, crumpled up notes, you name it, it COUNTS 😆
I’d be interested in hearing about the financial stuff 😅
I might be in the process of making a "let's declutter my finances" video as we speak 😂
You might look at the camera more instead of looking to the side at yourself when you’re speaking to your audience. Thank you.
Yeah, learning this might be key 🔑 😊❤🙏🌅
Yep! I am learning. I filmed all of this content months ago before I'd ever even edited a CZcams video.
