I never thought much of Maureen McGovern, but I haven't heard this song in so long that even I can get sentimental over her. Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder helped put Superman and Lois Lane back on the map, and we fans of DC and Action Comics have been forever grateful. The filmmakers made real people out of the characters, and paved the way for a new generation of fans up to the present. Everything came together perfectly in 1978!
I lived in Calgary when they were filming Superman 3 and we used to skip off work to go watch them film. They did the one scene where he rips the top off a car and the director yelled "cut". Christopher was standing on top of the car looking around at the crowd and he SMILED at me. I never forgot that. He was even better looking in real life than in the movies. God rest his soul.
How in the world Maureen McGovern's magnificent rendition of "Can You Read My Mind" failed to reach number 1 on the record charts I'll never know! R.I.P Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder.

RIP to the trio Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, and Jackie Cooper😢🎆🌷🌈🦅. This song bringing me up my good spirits. Since I last post it on CZcams comment sector last year, I have been playing this song for a while. And with that along with the movie completed the package, this 1978 classic movie film still rocks. Christopher Reeve had it ALL... the All-American look, grace and galantry, the charm, and the aire of Superman. He was terrific, and is so missed, to this day. And the song by MM is absolutely priceless ... it's a great homage to the love of Lois Lane and this Hero. Beautiful, hopeful melody, combined with simple lyrics reflecting her feelings and the awe she felt in his presence ... a true MASTERPIECE !
