There is probably an ulterior motive to this. One reason Laporta wanted Xavi to stay initially was because his status as a club legend coach would’ve automatically made him the face of the project, resulting in scrutiny being directed towards Xavi rather than himself if anything went wrong. But this seems to have backfired as a lot of hands are being pointed at Laporta as well, hence, why he may be doing this in a desperate attempt to “clear his name”.

To be honest Xavi has a major problem with coaching and his midea management as well. We knew he agreed with Laporta to work with what we have and go talk to the media with another attitude. Laporta is also a crazy guy!

I have spent the last 12 years traveling over to Barcelona for many of the midweek games in particular ie Champions League and Copa and have had many wonderful nights in Camp Nou. We have never recovered from the period around the time Neymar decided to leave which seemed for some reason to send the club into mass panic. We have been in decline ever since to where we are now

No passion
No project

What Xavi said is completely factual and balanced. You want him to say we'll win everything when we don't know if we'll strengthen in the summer? Yes Xavi spent since he arrived but let's be honest the team had to be rebuilt from scratch, we want to compete on a budget and we want to do it now... This team has quality in many positions but there are several areas that need reinforcements.

I Had a great respect on Xavi who bought Barca from 9th place to 2nd place in 1st season and won Spanish Super Cup and Laliga Trophy in 2nd Season but the problem is he didn't best in UCL. We needs to Shine on UCL, he pushed this team more than his level now we need to take this team to next level like our old barca.

How can you say it was not Laporta and just the club in case of Messi? Laporta knew that Barca won't be able to sign Messi yet he gave false hope to Messi and the fans.
