- Here is a collection of two outstanding renditions of the Kshetrayya padam Ninnu Juchi in Punnagavarali. Although Semmangudi learnt this piece from Brinda, you can hear how he personalised it and added his own touch to make it his own.

Very well said......Honeyed music by the Grand ladies of Karnatak music! Brindamma & Muktamma.....& Punnagavarali.....padam....ever green refreshing.....wht a Gambheera bhavam !......Pranaams at their Lotus feet!
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever!
THAT GREEN AND EARTHY BACKGROUND IS LITERALLY PUNNAGAVARALI IN ART ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely!
Honey dripping music. Music of gold standard, listen to this a million times and continues to be refreshing!
Nice juxtaposition of styles here......i detect a pronounced bhaava-bhedam....While both the renditions illustrate the longing and yearning of a lady for her husband who is away, Brinda amma's rendition has a softer approach where the lady considers the companionship of her husband/lover as a boon once bestowed upon her, that she is bereft of now.
Semmangudi Iyerval's rendition, is more strident, and a tad accusative in tone....here the lady considers the companionship of her husband/lover as a right, which has been denied to her.
This difference is most perceptible in the way the the ending of the first charanam " Naa nOmula phalamEmo' is sung....
thoroughly enjoyed this....thank you !
Semmangudi's 'Ninnare' has the Brinda stamp all over it, and yet he's made it his own so beautifully.
அசல் அசல் தான். நகல் நகல் தான்
brinda amma emerge into a vocal instrument which is ductile and Malleable..need to hear a lot again and again to get the technical deatils...a lot to learn from this one padam
Absolutely. I have been listening to this rendition for over 6 years and still I discover ‘new’ things in the exact same recording. This is what true artistry is.
