  • Hi guys, welcome to my channel. I carried out a clutch replacement on this Harley Fatboy as it was slipping. The bike only had 565 miles on (not 365 as mentioned in the video) Still low enough to upset the owner 🙄😣😔
    I hope you enjoy the video and please subscribe, like and share. 😊👍

    Nice video, none of the pathetic american hype about how could it have done so few miles. As all of your videos, just a nice calm assessment of the job in hand and got on with it. And thanks for speeding through the endless boring bits. As a Guzzi man, I'm not into Harleys either, but they sure do make clutch changes easy!

    brother why clutch plates were worn out in very short run period and how this process costs?

    • @melsmotors
      @melsmotors  Před 2 lety

      It exactly sure why they wore out so quickly, I explain what I think happened, the customer bought it this way. I can't remember the exact cost of the repair. Thanks for watching 🙂👍

    My question is it looks like u used the old metal plates and only replaced the friction plates? Why didn’t you replace them? Can u please explain to me then when is it appropriate to replace them

      The bike had only covered 500 miles, very unlikely it would have needed plates. The usual test is to place them on a flat surface and see if they rock side to side, if they do then you measure the gap with a feeler gauge then compare to spec. Thanks for watching 👍🙂

      Drill and tap my friend, drill and tap. You'll need an AF tap unless you're changing the screws to metric. Thanks for watching

    Zipped through without citing any torque values even through he is seen using a torque wrench.

      Thanks for watching and commenting, I never give out torque settings as they are different on every vehicle and it's your responsibility to get the right info for your year and model of vehicle, sadly not mine. 🙂👍
