My 2013 Toyota Corolla was a rental car when I bought it in 2014.
Other than tires, oil, filters, wiper blades, brakes, and last year a alternator, it has been a great car.
Recently I checked and I got 37mpg on a tank of gas.
It just went over 404,000 miles too.
    Quite impressive!

I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever make another move regarding a decision on a vehicle without looking up Scotty first I bought a 2013 Toyota Tacoma in October of 2023 with 74,000 Mi I got over 135 in December it started chugging when I came to a stop sign and then the next day it would wouldn't start I would jump it it would run the next day I had to jump it again. So everybody told me it was my alternator and I took it to O'Reilly's and they told me it was my alternator. I didn't know yet that toyotas f you're emergency brake and battery light are on then it's your alternator. And then I ended up having to replace the battery a few daus later. so there you have it, how I learned the hard way and why I will never ever ever ever ever mak any decision about a vehicle without l researching Scotty's CZcams channel first❤

My radiator fan went bad on my '05 Corolla so I replaced it and a few weeks later my starter went out. Since I was familiar with removing the fan and it gave more working room I pulled the fan back out. Unfortunatly when I was pulling the starter out I nicked the radiator fins and created a small leak. DOH! Well, after buying a new radiator I put it all back together.
That generation Corolla is simply the best. 275K+ miles and that's been the most work I've had to do on it, and I'm terrible with maintenance.

Another way to test battery is with a multimeter connected to the battery. When you start the car, if the voltage shown on the multimeter drops below 8 Volts, then its time to replace the battery unless proved otherwise.

New starter motors were very expensive in Norway. More expensive than what the vehicle was worth😂 Took the starter out and replaced the brushes within it, which I got for free at a local garage. After that it started right up and starter sounded healthy
