  • On BudgetEDH we build fun and optimized commander decks with a pre-set budget in mind. In this week's episode we build a $100 budget Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer deck from the Magic the Gathering set Double Masters. Brudiclad is a legendary artificer that has the powerful ability to change all of your tokens into any token that you control on the battlefield, in addition to making Myr tokens during combat. We built this deck as an artifact token deck that relies heavily on putting a critical mass of tokens onto the battlefield, including Clue, Treasure, and even creature copy tokens. Once we get to a critical mass, we will use some tricky token swaps to turn all of our tokens into some big creatures to end the game via combat damage.

Heat shimmer you will have to exile since the token has "Exile at end of turn" it is not an effect of the spell.

Kiora Bests the Sea God would do well in this deck.

Heat shimmer does not work the way you described, it gives the token copy text "on endstep exile" copying that token will make all your tokens have that text as well, the only way to avoid that trigger is an end the turn card like sundial of the infinite. Rite of replication is more mana but works better w/ brood

Yeah, I made a mistake on the heat shimmer. I still think it’s good, but not as good as I thought lol.

My dream is to build a Brudiclad deck and make many Aeon Engine tokens and just screw over that one player in the turn order

You said Brudiclad wrong, pretty sure it requires a Scottish accent

If only I could do a proper Scottish accent! Lol.
