- EPIC take off footage onboard a Qantas Boeing 747-400 ER from Sydney on route to Brisbane a few years ago. Captured in 4K 60fps ultra HD.
Here's footage from a few years ago which I'm reuploading in a higher quality form that'll hopefully form a bit of an archive of significant aviation footage now that the Qantas Queen of the Skies has been retired.

Absolutely stunning! Very clear and smooth. I live in N. America, so I turned my monitor upside down and felt like I was really there!
haha
Mourning the 747
Only a few small bolts holding those engines on. If there's a big failure the engine just drops off to save the airframe
I love it. Finally a blogger who lets us hear the sounds of the engines and noises instead of putting music over it. Thanks, Paul. I enjoyed this video.
Glad you liked it!
I agree with you, Alex!! 👏🏻👏🏻✈️
Yeah, too right. We're only hear to massage our inner ear with Rolls Royce engine revs. Who has the CD or Spotify just of engine thrusts. I need it now.. 💯🤣👍😂

What a fantastic video!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Great shot of terminal building too
thanks! Yeah I was excited to get a great view of T3, the harbour and even just the light showing the fan blades. It really was as beautiful view! :)
@@PaulStewartAviation the wings do look super clean and polished also. And I wrote comment before Sydney itself came into shot. All beautiful
@sassy hair girl streuth Sheila.
VH-OEJ!
Wunala Dreaming.
Took me to NYE far too many times.
Hated the destination, but always loved the journey.
Wunala will always be in my heart.
So many stories.
She was my Aussie Concorde
Nice capture Paul - as you’ve done forever!
Kudos!
A beautiful aircraft flying on a beautiful day. I really miss those Qantas 747s.
Agreed
Number 3 engine seems to have alot of movement. Thanks for posting the actually sound of the engines.
Lovely QF B747-400ER GE GF-6 spool up.
Had my heart beating for a second there thinking one of these was still around. ❤️ I never managed to get upstairs.
:(
Omg that movement 😮
Very cool. I've never flown on something as big as a 747. Nice video.
Thanks a lot!
I flew on many 747s from 1974 to 2016. I miss those great birds.
Same here
@@PaulStewartAviation You may well find this quite eerie: czcams.com/video/PAvNdmYNjiQ/video.html
Love the sound of the Queen of the skies taking off 🧡
Thanks Paul
Cheers
Nice view of downtown Sydney.
It was a beautiful day!
I've done that a few times 😊 but that was a early rotation... Nice.!
Tis music to our ears on a glorious sunny day overlooking the city of Sydney with the iconic Sydney Harbour bridge in the distance. Some great footage Paul!
Awww man! I was hoping someone had a some taste and brought class back to long distance flight. Thanks for breaking my hopes, Paul. 😫
What amazing sound!! Never did get to see one of those before they were retired I’m MHV.
Welcome back Paul.
May the 747 RIP . Best aircraft ever made .
Cheers and I agree
Amazing rigidity and flexibility of the engines & wings. Great capture! 👍🏻
Indeed it is!
Paul great vlog ! Glad to see you are well
Excellent video thank you for sharing
Paul, I always loved these big, old birds! Such a big, graceful aircraft. Thanks for sharing this, too.
Glad you enjoyed it
Missed the good old 747s from the qantas fleet. Never had the chance to fly but these 747s did had a good run.
Beautiful! Really smooth footage! It looks like flight sim!
Thanks a lot!
No way! It looks far better than that.
My wife and I did once fly upstairs on one going London to Toronto. Really weird sensation climbing up stairs in a plane for the first time. Beautiful Sky Lady. Overtaken now by efficiency savings of course, but what a creation in the first place. I remember films of the gasps of astonishment when the first one was rolled out.
Yes the first one must have been quite a site! I'm due to visit the Museum of Flight next month and I can't wait! :)
Just as enjoyable the 2nd time. Thanks Paul!
Glad you enjoyed it

Love it 😍
Beautiful sight and sound
Agreed
Gosh it's been so long since you placed something Paul.
It's nice to see you back ✈️
Sydney is so spectacular from the air
Cheers. I'm off to the USA in early March and that'll be followed by a flurry of new videos
Awesome stuff mate, really miss those incredibly Sydney views!
You and me both!
Incredible and such smooth footage that it looks like a computer game!
Wow what an amazing view 🤩✈👍
I agree Matt!
Awesome
I miss the 747s =(
Lindas paisagens! 😍
Loved the flight .. note the right inbound engine was missing it’s GE Logo .. the Sydney views 💗
It was a great day out!
Great to see you posting again Paul, the clarity really showcases a great day for flying. Did you make it out of the wacky west?
I'm still over here but return to Sydney on the weekend. Then off to the USA in early March :)
What date This Is Recorded?
(also did you fly A Boeing 747-436?)
Hoping to fly Lufthansa's 747-400 next year, which I would have gotten a chance to fly the Qantas version.
try and get onboard a LH 747-8 if you can. They really are the perfection of the design
That is the plan but want to do the -400 before they are retired then ride the -8
@@johndornoff fair enough. Those -8s should be around another decade or so.
The 747 is sorely missed.
If you’re in the middle, you’re just in a big aluminum tube going from A to B. If you’re in a window seat, you’re in an AIRPLANE!
Miss the 747 glad I got one in before Rona ruined everything
What do you mean by "Queen of the sky's has now retired" ?
All of the Qantas ones
woah i thought qantas already retired the 747
This is old footage
Did you fly on a 747 with Rolls Royce RB211s
Nice hugely missed 🛫
All the things I like to watch out the window..
i thought qantas phase out the boeing 747 last year?
Catch up
Yep that's right.
@Ernest Tan Do you know if there are anymore in there fleet?
@@AaronVanDerLinden no, all of the 747-400s have been retired
@@AaronVanDerLinden No idea sir
I always thought the Qantas 747's used RR engines... 🤔
Nope
@@PaulStewartAviation Some did, search on CZcams you will find vids of Qantas 747's powered by RR. They must of flown them with both RR and GE.
@@tomg6889 yep, QF ordered RR and GE engines. :) The last RR powered 747-200 left on display is in Longreach.
This is why I love your channel!!! I am suprised that you haven't researched Promo`SM!!!
