Kuitar you‘re absolutely crazy. When I saw the first version of Crystal Cave I thought it was a cool idea but kinda lacking in gameplay but now I’m absolutely overwhelmed by the sheer endless creativity and work you put into this thing. Putting together so many cool ideas that cohesive is impressive

You gotta keep in mind when Kuitar published the first version of Crystal Cave, OpenGOAL's tech for custom levels was so very primitive. He couldn't make water, some textures just didn't work properly, enemies were either not possible, or only partially supported, it was amazing how much he managed to do that early.
Seeing Josh's mind completely melt at new things is great...This could absolutely be a fake demo for a new Jak game and no one know...Except us
We let Kuitar cook, and he came back with a five-course meal and a 150 y/o bottle of wine. jfc absolutely GOATed

Amazing work, this mod really brings life back into the Jak and Daxter series. I am almost tempted to make a map myself seeing this, but I suspect it must have been really difficult to get this level of polish. Maybe if we ever got a standardized map editor like some other games.

Kuitar if you are reading this: may i request some optical "improvements" or rather stuff, that would make it looke more like jak and dexter?
the lava or lava fall down in the observatory looks more brown-ish than red/orange like the real lava, the precursor parts are too "new" and not really shiny, they could use the more old bronze color and i my eyes hurt a bit when looking at the grass, maybe you can make it a bit darker and not so vibrant
but thats just me

That random precursor door in Energy Bay looks like it might be an entrance to another level further down the line, imo. Not confident in that, but it's about the size of the Rock Village pod and out of place otherwise

Oh man, this is like the alternate timeline where Jak 2 ended up being “Jak and Daxter 2: The Precursor Legacy Continued” instead of going the GTA route.

That aside, I am _very_ excited to see where this mod is going. I'm sure it's gonna take a while, but I'm fine with that; these kinds of things take a long time when you're working with a well-documented engine with a long-established modding scene, much less when you're one of the people pioneering said modding scene. Plus, maybe I'll finally have a good computer by the time its done =p
Ive only really came across hacks for this game recently, this has to be the best one ive seen so far. Its like the super mario star road of jak and daxter hacks. Im hoping more and more keep coming out now that this has set such a high standard.

This feels like the Jak and Daxter backrooms: A place you are not supposed to be at. And it's awesome. Kuitar has just made 25% of a full Jak an Daxter game. This is serious stuff. GG.
The only thin it's a bit off is Energy Bay music. The accordion melody gets too repetitive after the first loops.

@@bakerdarcy6001 yeah it's got the same sounds but not the same feel haha. Ofc that might also just be that the original tracks are ingrained in my very being since age 5 lol

Who cares? AI is a problem when it's stealing real people's jobs, not when people are making cool free mods. It's nice to actually hear Daxter's voice.

I concur; having real people do impersonations might not have sounded exactly the same, but at least the delivery wouldn't have that speaking-through-grit-teeth-into-a-fan quality with awkward stop-n-stop inflections.

tbh even without the ethical questions of it it just sounds kinda weird and slurred. with the attention this mod is getting I'm sure there's gonna be some half decent soundalikes willing to pitch in
I just picked this up and played these levels, and they are great! But just one question, once you have completed the custom levels, how do you return to the main game?
