🌟 DESCRIPTION🌟
The game begins with Jak and Daxter, escorting Keira on her journey to become a Sage and help to find the reason for a worldwide Eco shortage. After an encounter with Captain Phoenix, an Eco-seeking Sky Pirate, Jak crash-lands on an island at the Brink (the edge of their world) and sets off in search of Eco with which to repair his Hellcat. After a successful take-off, Jak must fight off Sky Pirates attacking the ACS Behemoth, an aerial warship captained by Duke Skyheed of Aeropa. Jak is given an instrument called the Eco Seeker. He is unable to power it because the Eco instability prevents him from using his own Eco powers (along with preventing him from turning into Dark Jak), but Keira is granted permission to study it for a week if Jak proves himself in a test of his fighting skills in the Danger course. Daxter falls into the sewers of Aeropa on the way back, where he becomes tainted further by Dark Eco and is temporarily transformed into "Dark Daxter". He becomes black, spiky, and in no mood for "soft underpants."
Then, Captain Phoenix attacks the building and steals both the Eco Seeker and Keira. Jak and Daxter chase Phoenix but are led into a trap, resulting in them crash-landing back on the Island again. On the Island the duo meet a Castaway, who knows that Jak has been touched by Dark Eco but can't remember who he was or why he was on the island. He mentions that he built the Robots on the Island. He also offers to fix Jak's Hellcat, but requires a Velonium Power Pod from the most dangerous robot he created, the Uber-bot 888. After Jak and Daxter get the Power Pod, The Castaway fixes his ship, and later sneaks on board. When Jak and Daxter take off they manage to disable Phoenix's ship and land. On board Jak and Phoenix argue and tip the Eco Seeker overboard accidentally, so both return to the island once more to retrieve it from a volcanic crater. Keira intervenes and makes them call a truce and shake hands. The Eco Seeker needs more Light Eco to work and they travel to an old research rig used by the Aeropans. At the rig, Jak comes across a testing table. He realizes from the memory of his own experience with it in Jak II that someone has been experimenting with Dark Eco, vowing to destroy those responsible. After finding the Light Eco, Daxter is transformed again when Dark Eco is poured into the container he was in.

Funnily enough, there's a cheat to put his goatee back. But the cutscenes didn't reflect that if it was switched on, which is a shame

Hell yeah, man! OBVIOUSLY this game gets a lot of shit and much of it is deserved, but there are some genuinely good concepts in here, and the return to the plot that was set up in The Precursor Legacy was a much needed return to the series' roots.
This game should have not come to the PS2, that was the death sentence that made people compare it to the classics

Yeah, and upon learning that Sony pretty much RUSHED the game to hell and back, I can’t help but feel even more upset that this COULD of been a good Jak and Daxter game. Hell, I’d say this is the game that I dislike so much that I *WANT* a remake of it.

I like that Jak and Keira got more dynamic, their thing was just sort of shut down in 2 and 3 which seemed random considering how close they were in 1
they kissed in the racing game before this one
It wasn't random she said jak isnt the same person (since his personality changed due to dark eco) and shes not wrong their was also ashelin who had a thing with jal
The Ashlen thing was random, she was dating Torn in 2. So much so that ND listenned to the fans in Jak X.

This game isn't bad. The VAs are damn good for the time. And I don't mind Josh Keaton as Jak.
people say this game killed Jak and Daxter, but this WAS my introduction to Jak and Daxter as a kid, I then played Daxter after this. I don't care how many people hate this game; I loved it. Sure, it has its flaws and weird lore contradictions, but hey, what game doesn't? I think it's just the sudden change of style that people really hated. Look at Metal Gear: Rising Revengeance, EVERYONE hated that game when it first came out and made the devs consider the game to be a failure and say It's non canon, now everyone loves the hell out of it (even myself) and wants it to get a continuation and a remake. I think this game just had the worst reactions from people who don't like a switch up in style and gameplay; I remember playing this for hours on my PSP as a kid.

Daxter being the only saving grace of this game is rather fitting, seeing as he'd the only voice actor that carried over. A damn shame, this shit sucked so bad. This really does play out like a bad fanfic, and the boys deserve better than that ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ Also what did they do to Kiera's faaaccceee ヽ(≧Д≦)ノ
Let me count the ways ... when did Jak and Keira find out Phoenix’s name? First Jak in the plane, then Keira when they met on Phoenix’s ship, okay sure the former could make sense given they had enough time for introductions but where did *Jak* year it? I’m guessing they forgot about Tess altogether judging by the ending credits, y’know the woman who loved Dexter since Jak II and even became a Precursor (unwillingly mind) ... seriously could they not get the original VA for her back or did they just flat-out forget? *No Light Jak!*
But the big one for me? Keira suddenly turning into an Eco Sage despite having ZERO talent for channeling Eco before this game and no mention of it was made AT ALL bar that one comment from the Red Sage in The Precursor Legacy. Except for one line of dialogue prior Keira has shown ZERO talent for channelling Eco but always had a talent for technology throughout this whole thing. Why not made her a Tech Sage instead of an Eco Sage? If it’s all the same to you Naughty Dog I’m just gonna ignore this one and pretend the series ended with Jak X.

Naughty dog didnt make this one, my dude. It's part of why it looks like Garbo and the plot/characters are cardboard. It was done by high impact, which is pretty ironic because the only impact this game had was being the one bad Jak game.
I think Keira was trying to be an eco sage in the first game but that was kind of abandoned after she focused entirely on tech stuff. The game was apparently rushed by Sony and boy howdy does it show, Tess just being forgotten about with much of II and IIIs characters also was dumb, like we couldn't get Torn on this mission? And wtf happened to the "hellcat?" It went from looking unique to a generic ass fighter.

Its a globe, wtf are you talking about. You can literally see the globe in the background in Jak 3 when you play on the dark maker ship. The planet wasnt formed naturally though, it was built by the giant precursor robots that you can see throughout the series. Its just this one part that was left unfinished and messed up, think of it as a giant crater on its surface

I love how Keira doesn't outright dismiss Phoenix's advances and creates a rivalry between him and Jak, but she was dating Jak exclusively all along. Their arc is never consistent. I think this game got hate because the writing was just off in places, including the cheesy lines all over the gameplay. But, it looks solid for a PSP game.
Its basically the whole thing with Erol again except Phoenix turns out to be a pleasant guy

The series was abandoned by naughty dog. They tried to make this for the psp a couple of years after jak 3 when the og creators of ND and Jak had left the company. Thats why this game has some terrible ideas and doesnt seem to grasp what made Jak great. Still they didnt have the manpower to finish it, and gave it to some terrible developers, resulting in this complete atrocity
