9C1-Odds & Ends

In this episode I hit up the local junkyard for a scavenger hunt. Then I assemble Bear's rad support module and take it down to the shop and install it along with a restored steering column. Just buttoning up a few loose ends before the powertrain is restored.

I'm sure you know that the 9C1 needs a Camaro Z28 steering wheel. The standard Nova wheel will work for now. A Vega GT wheel will work, too.

That column is temporary,so is the wheel. The original column and z28 wheel are being restored and those videos will be out later this week. Gonna store them away so they don’t get damaged.🙂

I wonder if that NOS bumper came from the same auction in PA that had a number of new bumpers for 4 Gen?

I use a late '70's - mid '80's Mopar sport wheel (found in everything from Aspen/Volare, Daytona/Lasers, LeBarons/FWD Shelby, to Ramchargers) in my '76 Valiant & '88 Diplomat cop car package. Looks correct, thicker, leather-wrapped wheel feels better and not $$$

Here in the SW...So CA to be specific... we've been cleaned out by the State and oil comp buy backs of older vehicles...from about 15 years ago. If your car ran...they'd give you like a G to scrap it. All the perfectly fine , rust free cars just vanished...poof..gone. Replaced by newer shit boxes...Sad.

Up until the early 2000s there were lots of 70s era GM cars rolling around in good shape...then the Progressive politicians got their fingers in the recall of them...
