  • Was having a few problems on the last trip out with the recoil/rewind on the triple mod sled so I had to take it apart. Turns out that it let go inside and I just had to make a few tweaks to get it back in good working condition. Good thing it didn't pile up on me on the mountain! Take a look, I'm not exactly sure about the terminology of everything inside but it can be kind of a tricky fix.

    Well done Rick. I think you've got the best explanation and problem solving on this particular recoil spring issue of anyone else on the internet.
    The others either avoid that notorious coil spring altogether and I've caught a couple who have tried to bullshit their way through it.. Thanks for the excellent video, very informative and true to life.

    Great video Rick. It's a tedious process, to take it all apart and rewind the spring. Thanks for the tech tip.

    Working on a 90 AFS Jag Deluxe, how does the recoil cover come off the engine? I see no fasteners, or does the whole side cover with the fan and belt come off all in 1 piece? Could anyone explain what AFS means? Thanks

    • @DIGIT9
      @DIGIT9  Před 2 lety

      A-Arm Front Suspension , rewind is separate , bolted on to fan cover !

      @@DIGIT9 Can I ask you some ?s My first ever sled, so bear with me. On the 90 Jag Deluxe. The oil injection has a line coming from the oil tank to the injection pump and then there is 2 smaller lines that goes to the intake manifold, Is that correct? And how does the lower engine get lubricated? Is there a line that suppose to go to the lower engine for lubrication? Last question is on the fuel lines inside the gas tank and to the pulse pump and to the carb size? Some says 3/16 and others say 1/4 inch. Thanks in advance.

    • @DIGIT9
      @DIGIT9  Před 2 lety +1

      I dont believe those motors have lube lines to the crank bearings , that gets done after the fuel is mixed with oil in crank case ! Fuel lines for that sled arent that big of a deal , 1/4 " would be better , as long as lines seal good on barb ends !

      @@DIGIT9 Well this sled may be doomed, I can't get the secondary clutch off. It really needs to come off to do a deep scrub down cleaning. I had the sled on its side with PB Blaster soaking, tried pounding it off with piece of oak wood and hammer. I've haven't tried the primary clutch yet, don't have the tool. I'm betting that is also stuck.

    Pretty good video but it's another video that doesn't show how the small parts fit in under the final plate! GEEZ
