Hi everyone, it’s another Bank Holiday Monday and I’m heading to costa and HMV for my regular Monday fix…..coffee and movies, I hope you enjoy the video.

Hi Sir Alan, A special edition of "The Long Good Friday" was tempting on 4K but kept my blu ray edition which i"m happy with, & they say physical media is dying but look at the continued releases every week 😮, "Enter the Clones" one i"ll be purchasing for sure, i didn"t mind "Dune" even though i"m not the biggest sci-fi fan, the sequel i missed on the big screen so a physical media release i"ll purchase but at a dropped down price. Excellent work as always Alan, hope all is well 👍😎
Hi Carlos, I know, a lot of CZcamsrs keep saying physical media is on the way out but on the contrary, the release list each week seems to get bigger and bigger. The boutique labels are doing a fantastic job 👌 The Dune sequel is brilliant but if your not a huge fan of sci-fi then I imagine it would be a struggle to get through (given the run time) cheers mate, take care 👍😃👍
I'm glad you got more out of Madame Web than I did,I won't be watching again, but I didn't realise Sydney Sweeney was in Once upon a time in Hollywood. She is in the film The Voyeurs, very good in that 😅 😉 .Dune Part 2 is fantastic was blown away with the cinema experience, and I am looking forward to checking it out soon on my projector. I watched the special features today and all very good features on there, looking forward to Part 3 . Cheers 👍
Hi Matt, I think it helped that I went in with extremely low expectations, which is quite often best with the latest superhero movies 😆 Dune was incredibly good, it definitely lived up to the hype and yes I watched the extras too, fascinating stuff, especially the out of world instruments Hans Zimmer and his team put together 😮cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
I watched Madame Web over the weekend and found it pretty silly and you're right about Dakotas acting. I loved how they tried to set up a sequel with it (with the 3 girls getting powers) but will probably never be made as this movie bombed.
Hi Erik, yeah, there’s no way they are going to expand on this film, it’s dead in the water 😬 aside from Dakota, I didn’t mind it at all, the girls were stupidly annoying (dancing on the tables at the diner when told to keep a low profile 😂) but I had a lot of fun with it (I actually found myself routing for the bad guy in the ned 😆) take care mate👍😃👍

Hi Les, cheers mate, I will get the Bob Marley movie further down the line, I enjoy a biopic, just not a fan of his music…..I will wait for it to drop in price 🧐 Dune is very good but they are very long films, they have similar themes to Star Wars, I know the first is one Netflix, might be worth streaming first to see if you like it. Shockingly I still haven't seen *Dune* (Part 1 as it sems wise to call it to avoid confusion) yet, so saving it up for a Part 1 and 2 _Double Bill_ I'm not waiting for Part 3, now, of one of my favourite 'grown up' Science Fiction books from when I was younger. Sadly, I'm expecting an almost inevitable freeze because the movies are so long and my 4K player is a Sony X700 and they (in)famously are very sensitive to the layer change... especially to the third layer required for long movies. The player is BD Multi-region so I don't want to lose that but I am considering saving up for a 4K player that I'll only use for 4Ks... I just have to work out how the wiring would work for passing on the HDR and Dobly Vision signals properly because mt Surround Sound box is too old to understand them so I have to split the audio and video signals at present... anyway enough about my problems... *Madame Web* has such a bad reputation I'm leaving off buying the it for now, not because I am sure I'll hate it (Jamie Powel didn't... as you didn't it seems!) but because 4K steelbooks are very expensive on release but I'm confident this will end up in a good sale just because of it's reception. You should copyright the "Sir Michael Caine 'God Bless You, Sir'"... other BluTubers are borrowing it now 🤑 "Cougar lost it... turned in his wings" to go and do directing obviously. Ooh, *Shout at the Devil* - haven't seen that in years; I'll add it to my list. *Planet of the Vampires* LE has been delivered so no need to add it! Another great video, thanks and stay well 😀👍

I didn't mind Madame Web myself mate, i think the problem now with these Superhero films and just my opinion, Why do they keep doing origin stories, just give us a good film, Origin stories on the most part are just average. Auyup Alan Did you know it was BPD awareness month this month? I didn’t until recently. Anyway, hope you and yours are okay? I like Dune Part 2, the Hans Zimmer score was the highlight for me in addition to the cinematography of the actual movie, I actually thought the soundtrack for this movie was better than the first.
Hi Eva, no I most certainly didn’t know it was BPD awareness month 🧐 I loved the extras on the Dune 2 disc when they talked about how Hans and his team invented new instruments so they could make the soundtrack seem almost alien…. (this is the second time I wrote this comment as the first one disappeared 😬) big hugs and cuddles Eva 👍😃👍

When Denis wrote part two, Hans gave him a whole load of ideas for music that he was doing, basically demo recordings, made him a playlist so he had something to listen to while he was writing. Then once Messiah got the green light Denis goes up to Hans with the Messiah novel and then it was back to work. I may end up getting the BPD ribbon tattooed on me at some point in the not so distant future, just not right now because money and there’s other things I have a priority for. I always appreciate the hugs Alan, thanks PS, my next physical releases are Obi-Wan & Andor. I’m hoping at some point will get some of the animated Disney+ originals from Star Wars soon and maybe X-Men 97 in the next year or two.
Excited to pick up Dune pt2 but shame that it will be skinnier than pt1 on my shelf 🙃. It’s not like we have a choice - but does that sort of thing bother you?

Madame Web was awful, like so many recent superhero movies, badly acted, badly written and badly directed, but if you enjoyed it, fair enough, personally I think Hollywood should stop making Superhero movies, there have been far too many. Anyway I picked up Planet of the Vampires, which Alien was highly influenced by, and also Dune 2 (enjoyed both these movies but still prefer the David Lynch movie as it is visually more interesting and weird), as well as A Queens Ransom from Eureka.
I agree, it’s time to stop with the superhero movies now (but I guess they are still making the studios money 🧐) I did go in with extremely low expectations 🤔 yeah reading about Planet Of The Vampires, the story did seem very Alien like. I enjoyed it for what it was Mike, I went in with extremely low expectations and found it to be entertaining….the lead actress Dakota was god awful but I looked past her inadequacies. Malum sounds a bit scary to me 🤣 take care mate👍😃👍

I agree, it’s time to stop with the superhero movies now (but I guess they are still making the studios money 🧐) I did go in with extremely low expectations 🤔 yeah reading about Planet Of The Vampires, the story did seem very Alien like. Glad you liked Dune, I prefer the newer ones but there’s no doubting the David Lynch version had flair. Take care mate👍😃👍

I enjoyed it for what it was Mike, I went in with extremely low expectations and found it to be entertaining….the lead actress Dakota was god awful but I looked past her inadequacies. Malum sounds a bit scary to me 🤣 take care mate👍😃👍
