Hi everyone, today I visit HMV and CEX in the hopes of finding some new and interesting movies, join me for the trip which starts out at the Royal Pavilion. I hope you enjoy the video.
Hi Alan! I always enjoy your latest videos, learn a bit of local history from time to time and admire your growing disc collection! And many thanks for adding Mr Numan's "Night Talk"👍 at the 5th minute! Take care!
Hi mate, well thank you very much, I need to put a bit more history in the videos but time gets away with me…😬 (pun not intended) ahh glad you noticed the Gary Numan clip… I will be putting in a new one next Monday 🧐 take care mate👍😃👍
Hi Lisa, unfortunately the nice weather is as rare as hens teeth ☹️ ooh I don’t know the prices to hand Lisa, I have to look them up before I do the voiceover 😁 (that was a peep behind the curtain for you 🤣) take care Lisa xx
Hi AJ, glad to show what’s out and available in CEX, ahh another double dipping for you but to be fair it’s a very good movie, cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
Hi Sir Alan, Outstanding work as always with great info on the latest releases as always, i also picked up "Hannie Caulder" in the last few months & is a solid western with a fine cast & although Raquel Welch is no Meryl Streep she"s quite decent in this revenge western & as always looking 😍😍😍. Did not expect that 88 Films would give it the special treatment for a UK release. Hope you enjoyed the movie, looks like you did, take care speak soon 😎👍
Hi Carlos, thank you very much mate, your too kind 🙏 I thoroughly enjoyed Hannie Caulder and of course the beautiful Raquel Welch, I’m glad 88 films pick up the title, I’ve seen it a couple of times since, cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
Army of shadows is excellent, I was given the DVD years ago by a friend who was into his films , I can't get over how good it is, really suspenseful, not a minute wasted in it.
What a coffee last Alan 😯😬😆 definitely works better that way sometimes after a shop. Great video and really well explained at the end too. Strange as was in London Sunday last week and saw an old ad on side of a bus advertising imaginary, didn’t know it was out to stuff. Great stuff.😃👍
Hi Carl, maybe next time I will grab a coffee before and after 😁 cheers mate, sometimes I fear that I ramble too much 😬 yeah I’m sure there are still a few advertising it in Brighton too 🤣 hope you had a great time in London 👌take care matey👍😃👍
Zero day pick up, are you saying you didn’t want it or don’t want to wait till you get it? Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was a first time watch from me, take care mate👍😃👍
Great video as always matey.. couple of nice new releases by the looks of it this week.. I definitely need to grab Vampire Circus and Ronin at some point.. Not heard of Night siren so I'll have to checkout a trailer and see if it's my sort of movie 😎👍
Thank you very much, I’ve not seen Vampire Circus but it sounds like a good movie 👌 Ronin I’ve seen many times, a great movie. I’ve never heard of Night Sirens and need to check out the trailer as well 🤔 take care mate👍😃👍
I wish more new 4K's were the price of that *Frankenstein* - that's pretty competitive, as you say. I _LOVE_ *Vampire Circus* so I already have the Limited one; lots of dayglo Hammer blood and semi-naked ravishings, plus, it shows how powerful vampires should be during some of the combat scenes... what's not to like? That *Man of Violence/The Big Switch* double looks like it might go on my birthday list (though a tad pricey being new). Haven't picked up a documentary in a while so the _Shatner_ one goes on the list too. Gibbs might come back; he said not to rule it out apparently, but otherwise, yes, I may continue watching but they've seriously lost the glue that holds it together without him. Definitely getting *Hannie Caulder* too. Someone in my office said recently, "... and finally, Justin" to which I interjected (in the correct intonation) "... and finally, Esther" at which point he noted that that aged me! Great video as always, I thought I'd watched this week's but the working in the office, not at home, confused my timetable obviously!
Hi Justin, I was very tempted with the Shatner documentary but money is tight as my daughter is getting married in a couple of months 😬🤑 I’ve had to wear blinker lately going into HMV. I will check out the latest season of NCIS as I’ve invested (what about 20 years into the show by now 🧐) and if Gibbs is going to return, then I need to keep up with the storyline… haha yeah, your were definitely showing you age there mate, my kids have never heard of Esther Rantzen before which boggles my mind….when did I get so old 😮 cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
Great video Alan 😀🍿🎸🎶 I thought ‘One Life’ was really good; some very hard hitting scenes in there. I never heard of ‘Shock To The System’ until fairly recently; need to check out more of Sir Michael Caine’s early films; watched ‘The Black Windmill’ recently and that was very good 😊👍 ‘Monster’ is great aswell; definitely will be adding to my Blu-Ray collection at some point 😀
Hi Sam, yeah, One Life had me welling up on several occasions 🥲 A Shock To The System is a fun one, Michael Caine look like he was enjoying the role, I always have time for Michaels movies 🫡 cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
Hi Alan, Looking at picking up Hannie Caulder myself as it looks a good one, looking at getting all those Tigon films. Lisa Frankenstein also looks a good one so i will check that out. Thanks mate
Hi Mark, Hannie Caulder is available to watch in his-def on CZcams for free (thats how I first watched it) try before you buy 🤔 Lisa Frankenstein is a fun gothic, comedy horror 👌 cheers mate, take care👍😃👍
Another great K Day Alan Hannie Caulder looks interesting....never heard of it tbh wiv you ....surprising some of the CEX prices were decent for a change..... av a great week mate 👍
Hi Les, you can check out Hannie Caulder on CZcams, it’s on there in his-def for free, worth checking out mate 🤔 yeah it seems like CEX has done a bit of research on their pricing system, cheers mate, you too, take care👍😃👍
Great pick ups! One Life sounds like a must get. And Hannie Caulder I own but havent seen yet... You should get the Arabica bean plant and grow your own coffee. Then you can sponsor your own videos!
Cheers Erik, One Life had me in tears, such an emotional watch. Hannie Caulder was a surprise, I hadn’t heard of it before a few weeks ago 😮 yeah I would need to buy a few of those plants given the coffee I consume 🤣 take care mate👍😃👍
Great video as always 🤘🏻 I just recently picked that paranormal activity box set from my local CEX luckily for me it was in near mint condition. Shame CEX don’t offer a bit off due to tatty boxes. Take care 👍🏻
Hey Alan 👋 hope you're well. Army of Shadows looks good. I've seen a couple from the director and both have been fantastic 👍 Hanie Caulder looks great 👍 👌 Take care mate
Hi Roy, I’m gonna have to check out the trailer to Army Of Shadows, a fair amount of people are saying it’s a good movie. Hannie Caulder is a very good movie, worth checking out. Take care mate👍😃👍
Hi Alan. Brighton pavilion looking good there. With CEX, are those labels easy to remove? They are so big and potentially spoil the covers….Some great releases, Army Of Shadows particularly if the Criterion edition isn’t available in UK, and I wouldn’t mind the Taviani brothers set. Love the car chases in Ronin.
Hi Neil, as for the CEX stickers, it depends on the store, sometimes they peel off with no trouble at all but some stores use the older stickers that can cause damage to the slipcovers 🤬 I’m hearing very good things about Army Of Shadows, I will check out the trailer 🤔 take care mate👍😃👍

Hey I recently watched Godzilla Minus One on Netflix, fantastic movie! In Japan it has a blu ray release but I believe in other countries it's only available on Netflix. I'm hoping it will get a blu ray release in other countries sometime, do you hope it gets a blu ray over here too?
Hi Jared, I watched it a couple of days ago too, yeah it would be a nice addition to the Godzilla collection (I’m sure it will be released 👌) cheers mate, take care👍😃👍

Hannie Caulder I did pick up myself. Even though I had a German Mediabook version already 👍
