You just save me a lot of money since I was looking at a website that I've bought other very high end tools from.

Mr Thiel, good to see you again. We met at a woodworking show probably 15 years ago. Take care.

Another quick way would be to use a clamping jig with the cauls nailed or glued down to a sub base to guarantee repeatability, thanks Sam

    NEVER use the 4th clamp

Thanks, but you wouldn't want to connect the two cauls at the corner. It wouldn't allow you to close the miter since the the corner of the cauls would take the clamping force.

The last clamp is totally unnecessary, if your cuts are clean.

Good luck adjusting all those clamps for all 4 corners. Seemed fiddly even with just 1 corner!

Glen M Miter joints are a pain to glue up in any situation without floating tenons. Being able to have some control over where your clamping pressure applied is a useful tool. Generally we glue each joint individually in this caul setup, so you don’t need to adjust sixteen clamps all at the same time. Good luck learning woodworking!
