When I went to college in 2017, I stopped watching moto and super cross for about 4 years. Kept up with some names and championships, et3 still wasn’t a certified legend. But going back into in 2022 when chase was already in the 450 class, I instantly became a fan and he is ultimately what pulled me back into this amazing sport I’ll be watching and appreciating for the rest of my life. What an awesome race and look forward to the future legends out there!!

Rc lapped 2nd... . That's like going last to first after being a full lap down.
I find it hard to believe no one like RD who's second all time in outdoor 450 wins and went from a corner away from being a lap down all the way to 7th, RV, Stew, Kenny, or anyone hasn't done it.
It's been done in supercross quite a few times RC and Stew have both done it... and when Reed was in there racing with both of them, regardless of a crash you knew those 3 were going to be on the podium regardless. Rc went down in 06 at rd 1, passed Reed for 2nd then was right behind Stew for the moto 1 win.
It's also weird that Stew only won 3 overalls against Ricky, all 3 times Ricky crashed the win away... James won moto 1 quite a few times, but never moto 2, Ricky always got the overall
Ricky also has 102 overall wins out of a possible 126 and 10/10 championships... he lost 24 races his entire career, oddly enough he lost 12-125 overalls and 12 450 overalls and won every outdoor title he competed for. Also won every overall in 2005 after his perfect season in 04, I think he had over 30 overalls in a row counting the last few rounds in '03. He lost 2 motos that year, one of which James landed on him at 'dilla... Anytime someone's won all 12 overalls, it's been a perfect season outside of 2005, which tells me it's just about as hard to win every round as it is to go perfect for motos, so I don't think that 05 season gets the credit it deserves. So winning every round 3 times seperated by 1 season is pretty insane... think he won 9 rounds in '03, Windham won 2 thanks to the 450 against RC on the 2 stroke, and maybe it was Tortelli who won the other round? Can't remember... and his only DNF in motocross came in 2006 at Glen Helen where he lost one of his 3 overalls to James when he hurt his shoulder while checked out heading to a 1-1. James was definitely faster in supercross, but not outdoors, somehow RC always found more speed in moto 2 to beat James.. probably also had to do with saving energy in the first motos and the overall mattered more than a 1-1 sweep when the perfect season isn't on the line, whereas James would drain himself in the first motos to try beating Ricky. Rc was an animal, his outdoor records will never be touched... we talk about MC getting 72 wins, Ricky did 76 in the premiere class in 7.5 years on a big bike in a much shorter series. That's 90 total races total, won 76 of them...actually, no, I forgot, Ricky on Kawi Ricky dropped down for 2 rounds after winning the title in order to get the all-time 125 win record from Mark Barnett (25).... So, 88 premier class races, won 76 of them, he's lost less races his entire career than what Dungey sitting 2nd all time has won (39 450 mx wins). He also has well over 200 individual moto wins... i think in the 220s...and he's beat the best to ever do it, including Everts even while in Europe for Des Nations. Everts was even on a WORKS 500 4 stroke (bored YZ450F) while Ricky was on a CR250R on a super hilly and hard pack track that was perfect for 4 strokes with a style that worked real well for the 4 stroke...and to make it worse, due to the AMA and FIM rules, running different his engine wasn't developed for causing a bit of power loss. He also beat Tony in 07, James, Chad (who would have won multiple outdoor titles if it wasn't for Ricky..) He's very underrated outdoors, he beat both Ryan's in their prime when riding his 'TwoTwo' Honda. Hell, he would have won that title had it not been for the reason that jump at Millville was named the 'Chad-a-pult'. Even after that where he scored 0 points that moto after winning moto 1, he still had a double digit points lead leaving Millville.
Like RC's outdoor records, Jetts perfect season will never be beat either, even if someone does manage to go undefeated again... cause at best it can only be matched since he did it his rookie year. I also doubt anyone will win all 3 championships as a rookie again either. The only other guy was Dungey but we obviously didn't have SMX back then and I don't count it on the championship record books personally, but that's just me. Jett's also the only guy to win their first premiere class race in both outdoors and supercross (he's the only one to win his very first supercross race). J-Law got 2nd his first 450 SX race, led 90% of it after coming off the couch to race Daytona (the first time he raced there period, in either class) and then Josh Grant won A1 his full season, but the year before that he raced a couple 450 rounds on the opposite coast, Jett didn't do that prior to moving up.
RC did win his first premiere class national outdoors though...and I'm sure it's happened before he did it, but I don't know for sure.
