- A Stuart Twin Victoria Steam Engine - Making It Run Much Better Than This. Recently I rebuilt a Factory Machined Kit of a Stuart Twin Victoria. The Kit was fine but the build quality was not. I see this sort of thing very frequently so I thought that I would show my experience of how to make a Model Steam Engine run properly. The clips in this Video show the engine part way through the rebuild and although the Engine appears to run well slowly, the timing is not quite right. It performs very differently at a higher speed and under load (at 4:11). Most of this video features the engine running using Compressed Air. In the next episode I will show the engine running and show further modifications.

Not quite, there is one more episode coming up soon where it runs more smoothly although the mechanism is still slightly tight..
The joy of watching a twin victoria run is the reason I am building one!
one more final episode to come ...... now it runs very well indeed }:-)))
Well at lest it looks great, now with a little magic Keith will make it run great!
It is considerably better in the final episode - coming soon . . . . .
So beautiful to look at.Thank you.
Thank you too }:-)))
Your titles have now approached that of early 1800's tomes! Just a few more lines....
Think of the titles as Subtitles for the people who can't understand my accent }:-)))
I guess in steam it would run better at slow speeds to allow expansion to be useful ?
Great video as normal, but a question why are the crank webs set at 90deg wouldn't it be better if they were set at 180deg, I know you do because its right but why 90deg and nit 180. Please keep up the good work.
Some people keep asking me this. I don't understand . . . . . if you put the cranks at 180 degrees, how is it going to be self starting? Have you never seen any other Steam Engines and Steam Locomotives ????
