This was definitely energetic. I am a Glee fan and Rachell's (Lea Michele) voice always stands out. Even when they are all singing together you hear her clear tone over the others. They are all strong characters (and actors), which is one of the reasons for the shows success. I've re-watched the series numerous times and get sucked in every time.

I can’t help thinking you missed one of the best things about this clip. These are high school students singing a song in which a teenage boy is trying to pressure his girlfriend to have sex in a car. She refuses until he swears he will love her “until the need of time,” but looking back, he regrets it and is “praying for the end of time” so he can leave her. That’s not exactly high school glee club material and is one of several songs Glee used in performances that no actual show choir could get away with. The other great example is the first episode’s performance by the rival glee club of Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab.” IMO, Glee was best in moments like this, full of black and subversive comedy.
Yeah, these are things we don't really think about when we first watch it maybe but then you stop on the third rewatch and think damn no high school could ever get away with these lyrics 😂 in a way I think it's signature Ryan Murphy. That heightened world he creates in each show where things are exaggerated and sometimes even absurd is just so wonderful to watch. It's not for everybody, but I love it so much. I started to notice this when I watched The Politician, and it's exactly like that as well. The main character's running for student body president and it's like his whole entire life and everyone else's revolves around that, it's just so dramatic 😂 it's exactly like Glee in that sense, it's great. That style of writing lends itself to such great comedy, I just love it
