- Fried Hokkien Mee was created by early migrants from Fujian & said to have a close connection with Nyonya fried noodles. Bryan & Chef Justin visit traditional eateries to find information to recreate the old taste of the dish. Chef even tries to create a rare seasoning - shrimp sauce in the process.
福建炒虾面是由本地福建先民所创,而且据说和娘惹炒面有着一段美食渊源。王禄江和胡敬恒师傅通过拜访老字号炒虾面档和娘惹餐馆,寻找古早味炒虾面的蛛丝马迹。在还原过程中,师傅还会尝试制作稀有的调味料-虾露。

i always remember Hokkien Mee cooked with the white natural wrapper with the opeh leave. Not plastic container. I was right in this video they say it give it a frangrance. Similar to BBQ with banana leaves. All these old uncle selling hokkien mee are so nice to show your their skills without worrying about someone will steal their business. They know if you cook well they will come. Will definitely try all these stores. I wonder if the hokkien mee by serangoon opposite bendemeer still there

I remember watching Huan Dao Zhui Zhui Zhui when I was a kid, Bryan has aged a lot after being away for 20+ years. Kim Ng in the intro still looks pretty much the same as I remember haha.

Adyn Sng is from RI effectively.bilingual, holds a university degree, in terms of qualifications and looks ,he is definitely better ,might help prop up rating.
Bryan is still a respected experienced host despite his aging. Adyn looks like he has a lot of promise, could do with one or two episodes as a guest host. But at 27 now, he started a little late on local TV. Will he have enough time to build his career? A real shame that local tv is waning due to the rapid dilution of Singapore's local culture and digital media content in the past 20 years. Older actors should be promoted to behind the scenes, whereby they can do the job of mentoring and nurturing new actors to identify new opportunities, gain relevant experience quickly. Hopefully that will attract more young people of high calibre to local tv and stop its decline.
The host kept instructing and talking down to the chef. Super hao lian and annoying.

it's yr view that $4 does not include cleaning the poos and you are ready to eat poos for $4.
its my view and preference that i don't eat poos. i have eaten hokkien mee for $10, $8 and even $4 hokkien mee that sliced the prawns in halves and thus getting rid of the poos. i don't eat poos for any amount.
