I like the Buick Centurion.
The design of the Manta Ray (1:29) was obviously inspired by two GM concept cars from 1951 -- the LeSabre for the front and the Buick XP-300 for the rear. The taillights are from the 1952-1954 Lincoln parts bin. The thing must have a huge turning radius with those fully skirted front wheels.
The only thing that makes the Buick Centurion (4:54) look "weird" is the distortion caused by the ultra-wide-angle lens. The car just looks like a typical Detroit concept car of the 1950s.

But that was what it was at the time.
Not even kitchens and bathrooms were safe from that treatment.
But hey, beats the shit out of the avacado color you couldnt get away from in the '70's.

I remermber the days when designers went bananas in the US car industry...
I like how the airplane car had no protective guards what so ever around the ginormous propeller.
I remember the ad's for the first car. It said it slices and it dices but it just never appealed to the public.
The problem with the first car is that if you hit a pedestrian you Will chop them to pieces!!.

Amphi car was a disaster. Cool novelty. Functional...no! Between 3000 and 4000 were built I believe. Be nice to see another attempt at it though.

Cars had distinction and character back then, made of steel, not Plastic and styrofoam.
The Peel Trident made several worst cars of all time lists.. I'm amazed Mazda put their name on the suitcase car, obviously marketed to third world countries. The Dodge Deora looks cool, but has some obvious design flaws, like the dash on the armrest should go...
The Deora's front-opening entrance would never meet today's safety regulations. But then, the Deora was a show vehicle, a styling exercise based on Dodge's stubby, van-based A100 pickup. It wasn't meant to be practical for production.
The lift-up windshield is actually the upper tailgate from a 1960 Ford station wagon. The chrome trim pieces on the side exhaust ports are 1965 Mustang taillight bezels.
The Deora still looks beautiful today, with its crisp, clean lines.

I onced owned a 1987 Cadillac. The outward appearance was okay, but deep inside, every aspect of the car showed it to be the product of diseased minds from the designers to builders. I've owned 45 cars, many brand new, but this Cadillac was a particular piece of foulness.
