  • A step by step tutorial on how to paint & rust fuel drums for your diorama/vignette.
    This technique look great and authentic and will compliment any diorama & is suitable for all scales and railways 1/72 1/48 1/35 1/32 1/25 1/18 1/12 1/6 H0 N gauge.
    This process can also be used for rusting structures & vehicles etc which will be covered in another video.
    The products used are:
    Fuel stains from AK interactive
    Acrylic paints from tamiya
    Water bases paints from Vallejo
    Enamel rust from Ammo mig

    Dude! Nice thumbnails.. excellent techniques and finish.. would like to see more. I know how time is.. but you do really nice work. Feel like I could learn something from you.

      Hey, thanks for the compliment, I'm glad you can take some techniques from the videos. Its a tricky one finding the time to make them as its my hobby however I do them as and when I can and will hopefully have a new one soon :)

    Do you apply pigments while paint is dried or damp, wet?

    Old video, but do you remember did you varnish at the end? Does this work with the pigments?

      I can't remember to be honest but I don't usually varnish the finished item, you could use pigments and then Matt varnish to seal them if you wanted

    Hello, Does the rust pigment fade off if touch by hands?

      Hi, the pigment will come off slightly when handled but does stay in play quite well. You could always use pigment fixer or give it a light spray of tamiya X20-A.
