@@davidmoyes7010 you can safely if it's cooked sous vide because your able to maintain that temperature for an extended period of time as pasteurization is a function of time and temp. But that requires special equipment and a lot lot more time than a normal burger.

It’s cooked perfectly, normally mince you should cooked medium to well done, we should avoid medium rare, as the beef has bacteria all over the meat as was already grounded, it’s not like a steak that only the outside have the bacteria contamination that quickly goes away as it’s the first thing you cook, but in mince the whole beef is contaminated so you should ensure thw food its safe to eat

It’s definitely a preference thing. I do enjoy mid rare on very lean meat. Anything like 80/20, medium is preferred

The issue is when you mince beef the bacteria from the machine/air/environments gets into the meat, causing harmful if you don’t cooked at least medium, it doesn’t matter if it’s lean or fatty in the composition
The risk it’s high to get food poisoning,
The steak it’s different as when you cut it into a steak only the outside of the meat has been contaminated, but the inside still intact so you can cook med rare or even rare and still be safe to eat

What made it sadder is all the stress drove him to drugs. 4 months after the episode aired he was a homeless drug addict with the same girl. Now, he is drug free, married to her, owns a house, and has a few kids of his own. Not sure about the parents though.
