- Hi there today is part 2 of our many part video series on how to get better at starcraft remastered. Todays video top is all about multi-tasking. If you missed my last video about macro but are a beginner player please watch that first before watching this.
Please send me replays to professorprotoss@gmail.com so I can do a replay analysis for you as a video and help you progress as players.
If you like my video series so far please subscribe or leave me a comment with feedback.
Thanks for watching!
9:23, "He made a sunken colony? What a jerk!" I laughed so hard.
Hey dude, thank you. This helped me A LOT. I went from 75% failure to 50% win and growing because of what you taught in this video and the previous. THANK YOU. 30 games lost in a row and I won one and it literally made my day.
Alan Shore nice man keep it up
Alan Shore hey man that’s great I took a huge hiatus but I will bring more videos soon!
by far the best brood war tutorial series. you don't dwell on meta gaming and pro-level theories. just spend those minerals!
video still relevant, thanks for these i was totally lost getting rekt online left and right, gonna practice up and see what happens
I'll see you on battlenet 😎
Watching this as a new player in 2022 very helpful and Thank you i hope you come back from your hiatus ^_^
All points... seconded!
Last time I played was from the Mac BigBox of StarCraft, purchased at the local Best Buy!
We were still on 28.8 dial-up modems in our neighborhood then. DSL "was coming" - Ha!
@@frodrickfronkensteen9241 The battlechest!
@@bfhtom I know what you're referring to, but I never had the battlechest box. I had just vanilla Star Craft... and then the Broodwar expansion.
Good memory though!
Watching this in 2023, great vid
I've been watching Day9's tutorials recently and learnt a lot but these first two videos of yours have instantly taken my game up a gear - thanks dude!
Day9's videos are definitely not for beginner's, despite going through a lot of the basics. This dude's videos are much better. The first one about maxing out your army is a real eye-opener for me. I focused too much on strategy, counters, and micro, then I had an epiphany after watching his videos: all of that can be negated by a huge army.
I quit playing around 2006 maybe 2007.
Watching these first 2 videos (the prior one to this) literally put me right back into the game.
I completely forgot how to hotkey & I simply couldn't thank* you enough.
Much thanks for these videos!
They were awesome guides & spot on.
thanks dude this vid have helped me a lot
I guess if you are cometely unaware of what hotkeys are then it does help.
Otherwise the only thing it helps with is beating the AI.
I do believe that this series of tutorials is outstandingly good for any rookie out there trying to get better.
Thanks so much this was so helpful. Really have trouble with multitasking but this helps a ton. Will try to get this down. Just started playing Starcraft again after years of not playing. Computer has owned me so far haha
THANKYOU!!! so helpful this tutorial is
appreciate your stuff now in 2023! thanks
this lesson look like im cannon rushing xD
and thx this video helped me alot
Great way to learn Starcraft
thanks a lot for these tutorials
Excellent!
Nice video, just started playing after som many years. sometimes I use shift and make a square around the enemy's base, that way I don't have to jump back that quickly
"Better you'll get good at it"
;D
Thank you for these videos they really help so much i will comment on every single one
Grab you goggles, put your lab coat on
Here he comes, Professor Protoss.
tnx for tutorial
It would be nice to get a tutorial on big army control
Dude you’re dope
man im getting better at being good at it!!!
What I did to practice this was to just let your probe run around and scout instead of attacking the base like and playing cat and mouse. Of course I still hotkey the my barracks and stuff
Is hotkeying the buildings a new feature in remastered?
You can also hold shift and move gives more time
Yes, but the goal of this exercise is to improve multitasking, so I'd refrain from using shift
what about having the probe shift+patrol in a box around their base?
that wouldnt be that good of training though.
So I kind of already ended up doing a bit of this doing my homework for the first video. First two maps, I played against Zerg and Protoss AI and both times they all-in rushed me (5 or 6-pool and like 12/14 zealots), so it pushed my 200/200 time back by a lot. Finished those two games around the 20 and 22 minute marks. Third game I played against Terran, and experimented with just sending units to a-move at them while I tried to keep up my macro, with mixed results, and finished around the 24 minute mark with 200/200 supply (I demolished the Terran after a few waves of units, but left a couple buildings alive). Still gonna do this, because this is how I tend to want to scout, keeping the probe alive as long as possible.
Hey, kind of a scrub here. What does '#-pool' mean when talking about Zerg?
@@DaRkLoRdZoRc Refers to the supply number in the top right. So a 9-pool is a spawning pool built at 9 supply (9/10) or a 12- hatch would be a hatchery built at 12 supply (12/17.) They use supply as a timer for build order.
@@liamgabrielhoskins1434 That makes a lot more sense than what I thought it meant. Thank you.
...Hey, as long as you're teaching me stuff, any tips for Zerg VS. Protoss? That's my absolute worst matchup because I can never put a rush together fast enough to fend off the first wave of Zealots, and in the rare case I survive that, their upgraded units (particularly Reavers and P-Storm Templars) typically shred my counterattacks. I know my best bet is probably Guardians (and Hydra/Defiler support for Carriers), but surviving that long and securing the Vespene needed for it is something I really struggle with.
@@DaRkLoRdZoRc I am a beginner too. But I wouldn't go guardians because they're too expensive a unit and Corsairs just tear them apart. Most Protoss go early Corsair in PvZ. Main unit for Zerg Vs Protoss is Hydra and Lurker combo or Ling and Lurka. Make scourge to combat corsair and possibly Mutalisk as a support unit. A lot of the matchup for Zerg is about sniping protoss Observers and Templars with Hydra or Muta. Then just have tons of Hydra and Lurker to overrun them. Checkout liquipedia.net for advice and "jaeyun" on Ytube who breaks down all BW matchups.

who are you on the ladder?
13:37 maxed out terran and will keep on working to improve macro!
That's pretty good. I tried the first time and it took around 20m to max out Terran.
Late reply but nice on the 1337 lol for 2 reasons
Would this also help in the Campaign?
Chryseum Knight yes but not as much because the AI don’t really put your multi tasking to the test
GoodguyCwyzz Try Mass Recall hard mode :)
I'm not very good and don't care, just play the campaigns for fun. Hard mode looks like too much stress for me.
what if later you have more buildings and untis and not enough hotkeys
the.raven i made another video about hotkeys. What can do is use shift+f2 f3 f4 for location hotkeys. i use f2 over my gateways that way i dont need to hotkey them individually i can hit f2 it will bring me to my gates. i also build stargate and robo near my nexus hotkeyed at 0 so i dont need to hotkey those either
Yeah. I was looking at Flash's tutorial and he does this: At the beggining, he hotkeys his main buildings (Command Center, Barracs and Factory). Then, when the buildings start to pile up (mid to late game) he switches to hotkey his army (by type of unit) and the macro is done with the screen hotkeys. I'm still a newbie, and this video in particular is gold to me.
s p i n t o w i n
damn as to the last video - 25:01
Why do you take advantage of the poor AI? xD xD xD
Man, I can't even get to 200 supplies before the cpu fucks me over.
It’s zealuts not zell-oughts btw 😂
I got my ass kicked by a cheat coding AI
