Dear Lily, when u pluck aloe, keep it down from the cut side for an hour or so. There's poisonous liquid in it that gets drained out by doing so. After that u can use it.

Hope you feel better soon. Three things to take regularly is Aloe Vera juice or Aloe fillet with fruit, OMEGA 3's , two a day, some raw garlic. And definitely good old homemade chicken soup.

Hope you and Luke feel better soon Lilly. It's best to stay at home when one is even a bit sick because you will still pass it on to others. I believe that garlic helps when you are sick. My dad would eat raw garlic when he started feeling poorly and it helped.

You should try fermenting garlic in raw honey. After a few weeks the spicyness goes away. My kids eat a clove a day and they'd eat more if i let them! Lol We haven't had as much as a cold in the last 6 months we've been eating honey fermented garlic.

I have that same large jar of Bon Maman berry preserves in the same spot in my refrigerator in NJ. That is funny how the same brand that seems so quaint is all over the world.
As far as your menu, make it something unique and special to the area. Don't try to figure out what people want so much as what you are good at and knowledgeable about making. If you are an expert in gourmet French cuisine, do that or New Orleans style food. If Wat is good at picking fish, you could have a Wat's fresh catch of the day special.
A lot of people can make Thai food there. Maybe feature some Burmese food for the local workers who maybe can't find it elsewhere. Try to fill a niche that isn't already being served. Then again, if you are open for breakfast, that helps get the early riser crowd and there is less costs involved in breakfast foods usually.
Just making American trendy foods like wraps and hummus maybe don't do so well there because the tourists are looking for a change. The locals don't even know what it is. Maybe do a fusion of traditional Thai, Burmese and French Creole food, maybe with a separate menu for each and then have a breakfast and a lunch/dinner menu. People also like grab and go, say if they come in for breakfast and want to take out a lunch for later.
