  • MaxxDry Heavy Duty Boot Dryer [ The Boot Guy Reviews ]
    ABOUT the unit:
The MaxxDry Heavy Duty Boot, Shoe, and Glove Dryer dries two pairs of boots, shoes, or gloves in about 1 hour. Use the MaxxDry Heavy Duty to safely dry sweaty ski boots, soggy gloves, or wet football cleats. The MaxxDry utilizes forced air and heats to 105-degrees F. (40.5-degrees C.) to quickly remove moisture to prevent the growth of fungus and bacteria that cause odors and deteriorates garments over time. Forced air comes from an internal fan that pushes warm air through boots, shoes, and gloves to circulate trapped moisture through and out of the garment. The MaxxDry Heavy Duty is safe to use on shoes, boots, and gloves and will not shrink or damage custom liners or delicate items. The MaxxDry Heavy Duty includes two, removable 16-inch extension tubes to handle taller boots, and 3-hour timer that shuts the unit off automatically, and a heat/no heat switch so it can be used with or without heat. Dimensions are 12 inches deep x 17 inches high (with extension tubes) x 15 inches wide. Comes with a 6-foot power cord.

I purchased a MAX Dry in February 2018. I liked what you were saying about it. It's honestly no more noisey than a small electric heater. Alot box fans make more noise than it does. 80,000 hour rated motor. That means no bad luck; you will easily get 15 to 20 years use from this drier. I still use my pheet dyer too. After 28 years of almpst everyday use; it still works.

I have peetboot dryer that I have had for well over 20 years. I like the fact that it's so simple. No moving parts. Plug in; it is on. But, it's not as fast as the forced air (fan powered) dryer.

Yea the PEET original dryer is pretty great. gloves and socks can just go in the clothes dryer. But the PEET is silent and just leave it plugged in all the time. good video! thanks dude

If they hate the noise, they can get the Peet boot dryer. All convection, no noise. It's what I've used for eight years now. I love it.

I have a PEET boot dryer and it does a great job on my Red Wing 2292 10 inch gore tex boots, I can put them on the dryer wet or snow covered and in no time they are nice and dry and warm when i put them on,

Put 3-4 dryer sheets in your standard work boot. It absorbs some of the moisture and also helps with light-medium odor. I do this for my 6” redwings and my ariat rambler when I’m working a outage and it works very well (and it’s cheap)

Allen England Newspaper works really well too. Paper absorbs moisture.

I bought a $20 peet dryer and realized very quickly it will not dry a sweaty boot over night. Just ordered the maxxdry

dear, the main reason for using wool socks is the reason they dont stink. so drying them is def. a good strategy

Does yalls get hot or like just warm. I just got one for Christmas and it doesn't even get warm, its the same as the no heat selection. Anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking its faulty and I should probably try to return it if I can but it was a gift so I'm probably stuck with no heat

You did not mention how this compares to the boot dryer everyone has been using for the past 50 years, the Peet. The Peet is totally silent due to no moving parts, is made in the USA, and has a 25 year warranty. No forced air means it takes overnight to dry boots but I can live with that.

I’ve had a cheaper like $50 one and just bought this one I know it’s hard to ask for a drier to dry out actual wet wet boots but I need it to at least work in 3-4 cycles at 3 hours each cycle and the first one just didn’t work hoping this one does

I feel like people who are angry about the sound of a boot dryer don't get to complain about wet boots. You have to have a bigger fan to move the air and give the pressure you need to circulate air properly.

  • @Jim0i0

I run four of them with various accessories and extensions all the time. Dust is a problem and at least one has a broken timer. Rebuilding is a chore, but necessary when they get clogged. I've also had to reconnect the heating element of one that arrived without heat. Running them in my unheated garage keeps the noise out of the house, but they work a whole lot better in an environment that is already warm and dry.

I just washed my $10 per pair expensive Carhartt sage green cold weather socks in cold water and tumble dried on perma press for 50 minutes with no damage.
Can't believe I spent $10 per pair x 4 for socks to wear with my Whites Smoke Jumper LTT boots in the first place. LOL
Them's some pricey socks for sure! LOL

    • @Saohesc
      @Saohesc Před 3 lety

High heat shrinks wool, even if it's already shrunk some of the way. Using our imaginations, it could get to the point the weave tightens up on itself and becomes prone to damage. I'd probably use this unit after I washed the wool socks on cold.
