Someone mention that you are speaking too slow... actually is refreshing to hear you as a normal person talk and not as a sports narrator or a desperate man trying to say a million words before they click them out. good job keep it up.

Thanks for this. I am looking to upgrade and this looks fine. I just want to make videos and do a little photo editing. I use a 2015 and 2019 macbook pro.

A suggetion being a video editor, when ever you are stressing on any word make sure to add a zoom in effect, that actually makes a depth effect on the viewer. And cinematics are good but make sure to smooth the object and color grade it accordingly.

I have a home recording studio I started 6 years ago with a used 2010 Dell XPS laptop I bought for $200. It worked great until I went to mix a song that had around 30 tracks with quite a few plugins and virtual instruments. I upgraded to a used, hot-rodded pc that was very powerful and worked great except it would randomly freeze. Had enough of that, so I bought a Mac Mini. I will never go back to pc. It's like going from an old muscle car prone to breakdowns, to a Ferrari.

Which video editing program can you recommend for casual video like iPhone holiday for example. Nothing professional that costs more 100€? Also easy learning?

i have the base 8g ram m2 mini. i purchased it for the obvious basic browsing, normal home use. but recently my family have been taking more vacations and i was thinking of buying an action camera. would my base mac mini be ok just to edit short 5 min 1080p or possibly 4k videos on imovie?

I just bought a new Mac mini m2 today. I just started filming on an action camera last month and wanted to step up my editing. This seems to be the least expensive option. I want to edit on something other than my phone but not bad enough to spend $2,000 or more. Can you recommend editing software or does it come with that? Also, I'd like to learn more about editing. Should I just learn by trial and error or spend money on a course? This video had the perfect balance of humor and education. Awesome job!! 👍👍

I really enjoyed your review. Thank you. You've really helped me decide. Coming from a 2013 MacPro Trashcan, I'm sure I'll notice a difference. Still don't know if 16 ram would be ok or if to take to 32 ram. Any thoughts. I had 64gb in this Mac Pro but maybe 10 years on, 16gb is enough? I wish you many more subscribers.

If you are looking for the long-term, I would suggest going with the 32 gigs of RAM! I just went with the eight gigs because I know in the next 2 to 4 years I’m going to upgrade again just because I’m that kind of person lol

I've had a M2 Mac Mini Pro with 16GB of RAM for most of this year. running Logic Pro with 30 tracks including virtual instruemtns, DaVinci Resolve, Quicktime with a webcam running, Opera browser playing a live youtube stream with multiple other tabs open.. all at once.... I can not push this machine past 11GB of RAM usage. you would need to be doing some serious video editing with multiple sessions open & rendering to need more than 16GB.

While I thought you would be showing us how the Mini works with 4k editing, the video is still a good watch! Still wondering what the limitations of the M2 Mini are when it comes to editing. Maybe something for the future

The MacMini M2 is great machine. One may want to upgrade RAM and SSD depending on nature of their works.
I am not digital creator, not video editor, and not gamer but typical office users. However, I run many applications and multiple tabs on browser. Therefore, my MacMini M2 has 24GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. So far, I never see any memory swap used in the Activity Monitor which is great. On average, I only use 18GB RAM, so 24 GB RAM just nice.
Mac Mini is great machine if you already have good decent monitor, keyboard and mouse, and you spend most of your working time behind desk. If you need to be mobile, MacBook Air or Pro would be better choice and see which suit your budget 😂

Bro im a youtuber who upload just three 1080 or HD videos (15 mins long) with less graphics per week. A very mild user but ill learn adobe premiere or final cut pro for editing… but only three videos per week.
People talk about 16GB or 512GB upgrade. But for a mild user like me base model of 8gb/256gb will be fine for next 5 years right

Guys i hired a technician what i can do with my slow speed all in one PC. He came and replaced the 4GB RAM to 16GB and upgraded and additional 256 NVME SSD processor as original processor cant be removed in a all in one pc. He suggested to use my PC,s 1TB drive for all storage purposes and use this processor only for software installation.
Which accelerated my PC’s speed by 4 to 5 times. He suggested apple is not needed, all i needed is a fair upgrade of my old pc.
So i have 16GB RAM plus 256GB SSD drive as a addnl processor and 1TB space in my already existing drive. It cost me total $70 including service fees. My PC is very fast now
Moral - See if you can upgrade your old PC first. If you cant then go for new purchase… Its your money so we need to spend it wisely.

given you can use a mac mini M1 for 4k and larger i dont see any reason why an M2 mini wont work great as well. how ever i dont reccomend any mac laptops for video editing other then maybe 720 and 1080 other wise you will throttle alot even on M1 and m2 laptops because laptops are not ment for video editing .. you do need a min of 16 gigs of ram

M2 processor is quite powerful, but memory is key when editing 4k video. Here is what experts suggest:
"For 4K it is always recommended to get 32 GB of RAM, especially for MAC OS, software like premiere pro and even Da Vinci will require 32 GB for longer 4K files not even talking about higher resolutions."
Is the M2 Mini available with 32gb of RAM?
