Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Bane was top tier. He made Bane feel resolved, calculated, and calm. Whilst also being tenacious, intimidating, and menacing. Absolutely loved his performance.
It made me like Bane again. Every time I saw the representation of Bane, I just tolerated him enough. The Dark Knight Rises made me really like to hate this character. Which is powerful.
All while wearing a freaking mask. I know everyone loves the Joker but I still love this portrayal of a villain the best out of this series. Hardy killed it.
He was the perfect combination of what the Joker brought to the table in being smart and scheming a bunch, plans no one would see coming until it's too late, and Ra's Al Ghoul in physical intimidating and training, and upping it like ten times. He was the "final boss" pretty much, made Bruce use what he had learned up until that point to try to stop an imposing villain that not only was strong, smart, but also had a great amount of Gotham on his side as well.
His voice was cringe af and killed the entire character for me
If you like a bad Sean Connery impression.
Seriously, it sounds like he's talking into a coffee cup.
Gordon realizing that while batman was his hero, batmans hero is him. What a great scene
"So that's what that feels like." Batman experienced what it's like for someone to disappear in the middle of a conversation like he did with Gordon all the time.
Also, "Peace has cost you your strength, victory has defeated you." One of the best villian lines in history. Batman has spent too long beating up criminals who had no chance of fighting Batman at his level, add 8 years of sitting around being a cripple and it led to the biggest defeat of his life. Bane's entire speech during that scene is so painful because of the truth he speaks.
"Not everything. Not yet." The best lines of the trilogy and you're the only reactor I've seen acknowledge what Batman was saying. Good on you!
Seeing Alfred crying and pouring his heart out thinking he has failed, really hurts!! Probably the best ending tho! Bruce and Alfred look at each other and without saying a word, they nod...
Just like Alfred's dream..
That was really the best possible ending we could have ever asked for. Absolute perfection
I know it's been 10 months so you might not see this but watch again after they nod Alfred puts his card away because Bruce has already paid for him I just think it makes there nods and smiles even better
Best line in the movie. Dude says "I'm in charge here", Bane says " Do you feel in charge?" laugh my ass off every time I hear that
The part where he laid the back of his hand on the dude’s shoulder? That would scare the hell outta me. Great scene.
lol reminds me of Dick Jones brushing his unwashed poo-hand through Bob Morton's hair
pretty sure that instance was improvised, too. which makes it even better lol
Notice at the party Bruce is the only one without a mask? Because he believes life as Bruce is his "secret" life, that he truly is batman at heart instead.
His face is his mask
"Victory has defeated you".
favorite line from all 3 movies
I was a GCPD officer in this. A lot of hard work in brutal 100 degree temps to prepare for, and shoot our scenes. Thanks for watching! 💙
Hell yeah! Being an extra in this movie is pretty cool!
Dude, that's so badass
@@All-Fur-Coat_No-Trousers I’m one of only a couple of women who were chosen. It was super bad ass training with the stunt team. They were amazing.
Thank you for your service
@@umfilmmaker8253 I'll bet coordinating the stunts must've been insane! There's so much happening in those scenes and it goes by so quickly but all that work sells the realism. I have huge respect for stunt performers, they too often go overlooked. And all the work people like you have to put in to building the world for the movie, it's essential.
The saddest part is that alongside Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow , who appears in all 3 movies, Heath Ledger's Joker was also supposed to apparently play a significant role in the second half or at least make a cameo in the same fashion
“crashing this plane” your imitation absolutely took me out shit got me laughing too much
I love how Hardy acts as Bane. His fighting style is pure force.
Nolan is known for practical effects and not using CGI. Almost the whole opening scene was real.
Which is INSANE to think about. I would have hated to be the production crew lmao. "Ok guys, we got one shot at this"
The visual effects director sweating bullets every time Nolan shoots him a new script.
That A-bomb must have cost him a fortune though
One of the ants were cgi
So if Nolan put in any thoughts about how completely and absolutely nonsensical the scene is, narratively as well as physically, he could have saved a lot of time and work and money.
...and used that nto fix the rest of the bad dialogue, nonsensical script, poor lighting and lazy fight scenes.
But he didn't. Whoopsie.
There's one part of this movie most people get wrong. They think Batman never should have been able to defeat Bane. What they don't get is the whole movie was setting up for that fight. Metaphorical and literal intertwined. Bane says to Batman: "You think darkness is your ally? But you merely adopted the dark. I was born in it. Molded by it."
Batman was defeated by Bane in darkness. So the solution to win was to fight him in the light. Figuratively and literally. Bane's strength in darkness was more metaphorical than literal, but there was obviously a literal aspect to it too. The metaphor of darkness is for secrecy. Bane won by being deceptive and secretive. He won by making shady backroom deals with people to betray others.
Batman had to change tactics. His whole persona was fighting in darkness alone, like a villain. Batman is the dark knight because he fights and operates kind of like a criminal.
Batman, the "Dark Knight" "Rises" in this film "into the light". It begins when he's dumped in the prison. When he's first dropped into the prison he's nobody and people want nothing to do with him. By the time he escape, he is literally escaping into the light. The people of the prison are chanting for him, "Rise! Rise! Rise!"
He asks, "How?" (to escape)
The reply: "As the child did. Without rope." The rope was holding Batman back. The reservation. That is what it means to operate in darkness, it is a defense, it is holding back. To go into the light is to trust, to remove restraint and be vulnerable but bolder.
When he embraces the light he is aided by allies. The police, Catwoman, "Robin", and this is how he defeats Bane. In the light. That same quote by Bane foretold this. it continues "I didn't see the light until I was already a man and by then it was nothing to me but blinding."
Batman blinded Bane with the light. And when he finally did, the truth was laid bare. Who Bane was, who was friend, and who was enemy.
nicely interpreted
Love this!👏👏👏
no sht dude, how can you think thats not what people get off of this movie? lol
Yup, he rose into the light, and soon he'll be doing the Batoosi, fighting off sharks with bat shark repellent, and giving female villains the "poor, deluded child" defense.
Nice. It would've flown over my head.
I remember being introduced to Bane in 1995 while reading the comic book. Bane breaking the Bats back is legendary
I watched this entire trilogy in imax. First two films lead into the midnight showing (opening night) of Rises. It was one of the best movie theater experiences I’ve ever had. I live in Colorado so unfortunately the shooting that happened clouds the day after.
Same. It was like watching one big six-seven hour movie because the story of each film just flows into the next.
I was classmates with a few high schoolers who were there during the Aurora theater shooting but in a different theater room. People often see Aurora as a ghetto crime-filled place, which it isn't. James Holmes was simply a psycho nutcase.
Here's a little trip for you, have a good blaze and watch the movie "Waiting" 😎😂🤫
Yes!!!!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yessir!!!!! I'd even roll up for that reaction!
I love the scene when Alfred has to pick Bruce up from the party and says "Takes a little time to get back in the swing of things" 🤣 🤣 🤣
I couldn't tell if you recognized him or not but this (2:25) is "Middlefinger" from Game of Thrones.
I know a lot of people don't like this because TDK was so great but I don't think that's fair. The Dark Knight is by far the greatest superhero movie of all-time. You can't expect lightning to strike twice. I love TDKR though. Especially the end which I thought was perfect.
“Middlefinger” 🤣🤣🤣. Leo renaming characters…Tyrone, Big B 🤣🤣🤣
@@sukidawter lol
I think it's more 'the greatest superhero villain', and then it works. There seemed to be a lot off in that movie to me - the dynamic between Dent and Rachel, and Bruce and Rachel just seemed way off, and the character of Dent himself too. It's important to the storyline that it all be believable, and it just wasn't close. And that bothers me because Heath Ledger deserved a much better cast.
This is my favorite out of the trilogy. He realized he finally gave enough to the city and it was time for him to retire. I cried at the scene between him and Alfred on the stairs and at the end when Alfred said to the parents that he failed them. It couldn't have ended better. 🤗🖤
Was expecting Leo to shout "middlefinger" in that plane scene in the beginning.
I really like this one. Everyone always brings up the dark knight but it’s cool to see some of the other villains besides joker get the spotlight. This one feels a little more like a comic book run as well. Batman is away then he comes back then he goes away and the story follows robin then batman comes back again. Quite an epic and the music is fantastic.
Don’t just discredit The Dark Knight because it’s more popular. The Dark Knight is just the better movie 🤷♂️. Don’t get me wrong The Dark Knight Rises is also one of the best comic book movies
@@alkoholic3216 kind of true even though I actually prefer Rises
@@alkoholic3216 eh I never really liked dark knight always liked this one.
I will say speaking of comics even though I liked the movie they completely got Bane wrong
When MR. video said.
"I don't even know what goes on in my head half the time, its just a head". I FELT THAT
"one at a time, one at a time" As you're actively doing both lmao.
The grind is real, good shit.
I was waiting for you to recognize Littlefinger in the opening plane scene!
He didn't.
I always love when Leo says 5pm Eastern for it to drop. Me waiting at 5 🙃
Also Leo drops this at 10 instead of 5 😇😂
It's still not Easter in Fla. Lol
Yeah, but as soon I saw that LEO released this - I dropped everything else - and start watching! Leo has his own timeline...
@@bobbymariani2839 good catch I had to think like wtf does that have to do with my comment but I caught it 🤣
He doesnt realize the agent on the plane is Little Finger. :)
This is one of the few super hero movies in the last ten years that has had a good villain. and you cant even see his face! Tom Hardy is absolutely one of my favorite actors. I think you would really like "Lawless"
Next Up-
*TRUE ROMANCE* 🔥🔥🔥
While I think it is perfect as a self contained trilogy, I really would love to see how “Robin” is doing as Batman’s successor in this universe. Joseph Gordon Levitt is just way too likeable
“I’m Gothams reckoning, I’m here to end the borrowed time you all have been living on”!! That’s bane scariest line of the movie!!
awww I was hoping you would recognize little finger at the beginning. Love your content dude
I'm new here but like how he gives an 'ohh' anytime Cat Woman is onscreen, and how he reacts to Alfred.
“Somebody get somebody to stop him!!!” I feel that, man.
We need that Rocky III reaction ASAP!!!!!
The airplane dragging scene is real, and the shot where it drops is also real. But they used realistic dolls because of safety of course, cool scene nonetheless. So happy to see this on the notifcations, hope youre doing great man
"Do you feel in charge?" So many great quotes from this one.
Leo...you are a very insightful human. Anne Hathaway deserved an Oscar for that Catwoman role. Her fake cry was cold 🥶 .
Leo I’m rolling up, binging your videos on a beautiful Sunday evening. I appreciate you big dawg.
Woo-hoo!. This one is great too Leo. Really enjoyed your reaction.🤘
Watched this earlier this morning on patreon🤙 definitely some good movies, you the man Leo! Hope you’re having a awesome night! Much love and Respect brother🙏🏼
lowkey i be like damn when’s the next reaction coming out for whatever movie or show but it makes it that much better when i see that notification that you dropped another video🙌🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥you know how yo keep us on the edge of our seats🤣
YAAAAASSSSSS! But, How did you NOT notice Middlefinger in the plane scene?
I got chills and emotional man, *Loved* this video Leo 💯🏆 You the Man
Here's a little interesting piece of trivia for you. In the DC origin story of Bane, he gained his superhuman strength from being used as a guinea pig in experiments using a powerful toxin called venom. Tom Hardy, who plays Bane in this movie, also plays Eddie Brock, aka Venom, in the MCU. Not only interesting in the use of the same name but also making Tom hardy one of a few actors to cross over between the rival universes of Marvel & DC.
"That's what it feels like" was a callback to Batman always disapearing when people turn away. And now Catwoman did his own move on him
The soundtrack to this movie is too good
I'm sort of upset that Leo didn't recognize Littlefinger was in the beginning during the plane sequence.
beautiful ending. To bad theres not more sequels to these movies, i really love Christian Bales take on the batman. :)
Hella glad you got around to this movie hope you doin good Leo
Props for being the only TDKR reaction vid ive seen watched in the full frame version for IMAX scenes.
The Guy that says Bane in the beginning when they are getting on the plane is Little Finger from Game of Thrones
You were hype this reaction & I love it. ❤
10:39 Fookin’ legend Karl Tanner. Littlefinger at the beginning too lol
An absolute classic trilogy! The Dark Knight Rises is a great finale for all three epic Bat-movies! That "Rise" chant in that Underground Prison is hype-inducing! Great reaction brother Leo! 💪💪💪
Now that you've watched these movies, you HAVE to watch the College Humor Batman skits. They are hilarious
Thank you for finally hearing my prayers and finishing this kickass trilogy Leo, I love these films and your priceless reactions to them. Been waiting a long time for this one and the heat is finally here! *The Fire Rises*
so much fun doing Bane's voice!! No one cared until I put on the mask
"do you feel in charge?"
Keep doing you man! Always fire ! HEAT!
Im surprised he didnt recognize Little Finger immediately like he did Joferry.
Don't feel bad Leo. A lot of people including myself don't know what's going on in our head half the time.
It's always a good day when Leo's bringing that heat!
I like how Alfred casually puts away his card at the end. He probably figured Bruce owns the place, and after being put through that emotional windmill, the damn coffee better be on him!
Man I fuck with channel it's top tier. And your character you are so damn chill don't ever change.
Thank you for finishing it!
60,000 views, my man, so happy for you, I've been with you since you said you were going to kick Danny Carey's ass, still love that video, and really lovin the movies, especially Titanic when I feel depressed
2 fantastic uploads in a day! Happy Easter y’all
damn Mr. Video moving up in the production value.
great movie, great reaction.
26:15 I remember laughed at this scene. When no one in theater did. Why many people not get the joke. -_-
I still have the comic ark "knight fall". In it, bane had figured who Batman was and he released all the inmates from Arkham. For months batman fought to get everyone back while in the background bane was pulling the strings. It ended with a tired, broken bruce discovering bane in his mansion ready to fight. It ends with bane breaking Bruce's back.
That comic storyline was epic!
I enjoyed this movie when I went to see it but I think Bane from the comics makes me dislike movie Bane a bit. Movie Bane has very little to do with the original nightmare that was comic book Bane.
Great reaction bro! 👍🏿 Hopefully, you'll get into the Synderverse. But in the meantime, I'm looking forward to your Iron Man 2 reaction.
Here you go again, brightening my day with amazing content😁😁
40:00 That leap never fails to make sweat spring out on my palms.
3:35 bro your impressions of the bane voice had me dying!! LOL
I should point out that the plane dangling a plane was a real shot, the wings that broke off were CGI.
Nolan is damn good with his use of practical effects in movies.
Great reaction to this one Leo. Glad you enjoyed the whole trilogy! 😁
Batman's house is located in my hometown of Nottingham. It's on a big Deer park with a golf course and a lake. My old school is also there....yes I spent lots of time bunking off school there lol
Imagine Bane as a sports commentator. I'd be watching ALL of the games.
I just ❤ your commentary. So funny and entertaining. Helps getting through work easier.
At the beginning, the CIA guy who talks to Bane on the plane is Little Finger, from Game of Thrones.
I'm surprised you didn’t recognize him.
i think only you and me noticed it lol
This is the one i come back and watch the most. So satisfying.
The opening scene is one of my favorite. Hard to top dark knight but this was like up there
I'm just glad Alfred got his happy ending
"Sometimes you need to wackoff some of these bad guys, Batman"
greatest quote ever!
Alfred always kills me in the ending man I don't care much for Bruce but Alfred's reaction makes me emotional.
I went and seen this at the theater years ago and it's still the best movie today, I'm glad you have seen it.
I wish this was still our Batman.
So that's what that feels like. Remember how Batman would talk with the commissioner or others, get his information, then be gone when they looked over where he WAS standing? So Selina did that to Batman. She disappeared just as HE was disappearing in the previous movies.
Happy Easter Leo
YES!! Thank You!! Was waiting for your reaction to this👏🏻👏🏻
I don’t think he even realized that was CATWOMAN
lmao leo's first reaction to catwoman was great
Gosh dangit, I was just about to take a nap. But it'll have to wait.
I never noticed before, but Bane says that the kid singing the national anthem has a lovely voice - right after he sings "The bombs bursting in air."
Good catch
Never knew I had a problem with heights until I went to see the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago lol terrified so I feel you in the heights
Man you are a funny guy
Id fight for you homie
Nothing but love bruh
🔥🔥Reaction!! I remember liking this when it came out but not as much as the Dark Knight. I had some issues with it like the fact that Bane wasn't that accurate to the comics (even tho I liked him a lot still). And Alfred annoyed me a little in the movie and especially in the scene with him and Bruce. I understood he loved him and didn't wanna see him die, but I felt like that was a conversation they shoulda had like 10 years ago when they first started. He was rocking with him the whole time so he knew the risks at this point already. He knew how much good they'd done to the city already, and he knew how much this meant to Bruce. Yet he didn't support him and left him when he was at his lowest point in the series. Besides that tho, it's still a really good movie, and its actually gotten even better to me over time.
"You can't trust nobody batman you too rich you can't let nobody in your life!" This line of yours took me out 🤣🤣🤣 Man I love watching movies with you. You are so real and freaking hilarious!
"don't come up into my city nigga!" cought me off guard :D:D
