"Can You Feel The Love Tonight" is like a heavenly choir breaking out. Enjoyed that.
Omg!! No way?! I already know that one will make me cry!!
You have been Mitch-slapped. Lol. It is a Pentaholic thing. He is actually a counter-tenor. His range is insane.
Oh totally insane!!!!
Headphones 🎧 🎧 are a must when listening to A Capella music. Most speaker systems don't let the richness of the bass come through. Please get some and listen to this again. You don't realize just how much sound you are missing until you wear them. I wish someone has told me this a few years ago. I missed out on so much.
Love the emotional reaction. I was the same way as well. It still gets me all here years later.
Mew subscriber here for more Pentatonix. Thanks!
Much love from Texas ❤❤❤
Totally Agree 👍
Are you using headphones ?? If not, then you aren't getting the FULL interpretation of their music !!
Especially the base is deeper through the headphones
It's a totally different experience.
Subscribed for the Pentatonix! It was written and sung first, I think, by Leonard Cohen, a fabulous songwriter and poet.
Written and originally performed by the late Leonad Cohen. He was a great photographer that happened to sing his poems and is another deep rabbit hole. "Everybody Knows", "Suzzanne", "Famous Blue RAINCOATS "If It Be Your Will", over 40 years of great misic.
Love Suzanne. Had a Judy Collin’s songbook when in high school😂
Hey, with PTX it is perfectly fine to do Christmas ALL YEAR round! I do!
Feel free to call them PTX - it will make you sound like an old hand. Check out any of their live versions of this song - they include it in virtually every concert and they sound just as good live as they do in the studio. Also, check out their version of "The Prayer", the Celine Dion / Andrea Bocelli work. It's stunning. czcams.com/video/wnvzwAPqniU/video.html All the best!
Listen to the prayer. I think it’s their best one yet.
I found Pentatonix when Scott, Mitch, and Kristy appeared on an episode of the TV show Bones. They were really great. The episode is on CZcams.
Thought that even the indigenous tribes of Papua New Guinea had heard/seen this one by now (laughing)...
There actually two singing the bassline. Scott the first singer and Avi the second singer switch depending on who is singing the verse. They all have wicked ranges and together are incredible. Christmas 2016 live is the best version of this song.
Check out their other covers like " The Paryer' & " Amazing Grace" & "O' Holy Night " & The Sound of Silence " & more. By the way, your a beautiful Woman, just had to tell you that...
The prayer.
Yeahhhh... They're all so talented, for sure. 😄👍
Yes they are Scott!
I love Pentatonix and that cover. O Holy Night is awesome too. BTW: You look beautiful …
A beautiful reaction. Its been said that PTX doesn't do covers, they do upgrades. Another great song is "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal. I have subscribed.
This is my first time watching you react. Thank you for a great one! This song is a true masterpiece, and I love Pentatonix!
The big 3 Acapella groups are PTX, Home Free, and VoicepPlay. Of the 3, Voiceplay is my favorite. If you haven't heard them, please check out their covers of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, Hoist The Colours and Valhalla Calling Me. And if you like the low notes, I PROMISE you won't be ready for their bass singer, Geoff Castellucci. Definitely the "bassiest" of the bass singers with a 5 Octave range.
BTW, Geoff Castellucci has his own CZcams channel and does solo covers. He layers the videos and sings all the parts himself. Check out his covers of The Sound of Silence, House of the Rising Sun, and Man of Constant Sorrow. Prepare yourself for his Geoffquake low notes!😁
Sky and Pentatonix, never clicked so fast in my life 💕💕
You’re missing out by not using headphones! Thanks for this reaction!
It's definitely better with headphones, always.
You can't go wrong listening to anything Pentatonix has released; it's all gorgeous. But all pentaholics have our own personal favorites that we like to recommend. These are some of my favorites:
• Now that you've reacted to the official video of "Hallelujah," with Avi, I recommend a recent live performance, with Matt: czcams.com/video/FqphhPapkoc/video.htmlsi=tC6Ew07JGeQKQvDL Matt isn't a low enough basso profundo to blow out speakers with his lowest notes, the way Avi did, but his high notes are near the top of a normal tenor range and his arrangement of the second verse of "Hallelujah" seems to have been designed to show off his full range. I believe Matt has the largest range of any member of Pentatonix, past or present.
• "Imagine" (the official video - sorry, for THIS song only the official video will do; there are important visual effects that they can't duplicate live)
• "Run To You" (an original, written by Avi and Kevin)
• "Happy Now" (another original)
• "Daft Punk Medley" (their first Grammy winner)
• "O Come All Ye Faithful"
• "O Holy Night" (they did a totally new recording for their 2023 Christmas album; you can find the official video here: czcams.com/video/ReJAU2mXm8w/video.htmlsi=upj2Q3vLqigVEtgm )
• "Kiss From a Rose" (preferably the live Vevo performance)
• "Pure Imagination / Christmas Time is Here"
• "The Prayer"
• "Bohemian Rhapsody" (you're gonna love it!)
• "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch"
• "Seasons of Love" This was for a 4th of July special, on PBS: czcams.com/video/qO01TIVX3SM/video.htmlsi=-oBRpInGCo3rdjSD
• "The Lucky Ones" (an original, written by Scott)
• "Thank You" (an original, written by Scott and his then fiancé, now husband, Mark Manio Hoying, shortly after the end of COVID lockdown, about how much easier it was to get through that time because they were together)
• "The Kevin Show/Kevin's Fifth." This is a live feed from a concert they gave in Owensboro, Kentucky, Kevin's home town: czcams.com/video/DbCasvcNx78/video.html
Additionally, IF you're familiar with _"The Wizard Of Oz"_ (the 1939 movie starring Judy Garland), I recommend "Todrick Hall - The Wizard of Ahhhs (ft. Pentatonix)": czcams.com/video/QkVeKb2igrg/video.html If you've never seen the movie it won't make sense, so take care of that first.
Hi, Sky. New sub for more PTX. 🙋♂
This is perfection. Mitch killed it on this one. Side Note: You mentioned Boys ll Men -- check out Home Free - End of the Road.
You need to hear the live performance of hallelujah with Avi doing it.
Daftpunk Medley. Evolution of Music and The sound of Silence spring to mind.
You should check out these guys version of Mad World.
Yes, Mitch is a tenor, but much of his lead was above normal tenor and more of a mezzo soprano range. He sang the same range as Kirstie's lead.
You just got "Mitch slapped"...
The tenor is Mitch Grassi
Wait for it...
Headphones are STRONGLY recommended when listening to Pentatonix!! Otherwise you miss out on SOOO much. The legions of Pentaholics would not steer you wrong on this! ☺️
You got 'Mitch-slapped' - it's what us Pentaholics call it when people react to Mitch's incredible counter tenor voice! They are all amazing. I've been a fan for 12 years and there really is no one like them.
Hahahah I freaking love that! MITCH SLAPPED!!
Have you seen them live?!
@@SkyAndersonReactsYes! I saw them for the first time last May in London. Despite having been a fan since 2012, I haven't been able to see them before when they've been in the UK. They were PHENOMENAL! They were the best band I've seen in nearly 40 years of seeing live music....and I've seen Bowie, Madonna, Muse and hundreds of other huge bands.
Ugh I bet they are amazing live!!
@@SkyAndersonReactsthey are so amazing live and also they are lovely people and so grateful and friendly to their fans.
To truly appreciate their ability in live performance, you should watch the private performance of Daft Punk. BUT... please watch the official Daft Punk video first to draw a comparison.
1.) Headphones. 2.) Daft Punk Medley!
Leonard Cohen wrote the song - Jeff Buckley's version is probably the best known - this is the best, as usual with Pentatonix
AHA live at star vista Singapore
Puscifer
“The Underwhelming” (Live at Arcosanti)
“Galileo” (Live from Hall of Feathered Serpents)
“Autumn” (Live from Hall of Feathered Serpents)
“Personal Prometheus” (Live at Arcosanti)
The Mitch-Slap is a real thing. lol
You get better appreciation if you use headphones. That's when you hear the nuances in their performances.
Awesome, wow great job. New subscriber here. You say you like Boys 2 Men. You should listen to another acapella band, Home Free, do their cover of End of the Road. I think you will really like it. Keep up the good work!❤
Loved your reaction! A few recent ones that are absolutely beautiful are Kiss From A Rose (Vevo Live), O Holy Night, and integrated Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here (also Vevo Live). The group has only switched out one of the members. These covers all feature the new Bass, Matt. I believe you saw him if you first reacted to The Sound of Silence. Looking forward to future reactions!
Thank you for your reaction! PTX occasionally use an instrument, like Kevin with his Cello boxing, Matt, who replaced Avi the bass singer, plays the drums, and Scott plays the piano. So does Mitch, in his personal music.
Subbed for more PTX. Because I know you will hear the term, I will tell you, the reaction most people have the first time they hear Mitch's voice is called a Mitch Slap, kind of like a B-slap, just nicer.
Heh... if you like Boyz 2 Men, and you also like acapella, you should react to Home Free, 'End of the Road' cover.
Recommend their cover of The Prayer.
I will be here for all PTX reactions! Thanks for sharing your personality with us.
Welcome to the PTX fam❤
Why did a year go by before you revisited PTX?
And, you wore headphones back then!😂❤
Subbed for more PTX reactions.
Kiss From A Rose is an awesome live PTX performance!
That was a wonderful reaction! You're a lovely lady.
Your first reaction to PTX seems to have been quite some ago. I watched and equally enjoyed it.
I'm subbing in the hope of more PTX, more frequently!
Please don't stop reacting to Pentatonix. We Pentaholics will follow. I would suggest Bohemian Rapsody
Amazing Grace
Something different Daft punk
About 200 songs
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA. A TRUE PENTAHOLIC
I think you missed a small part of Mitch's solo when you searched for his name
Love your reaction. I suggest earphones to really get the full effect
Listen to their original song "Sing" to have some fun - you cannot go wrong with anything you see from them
I just subbed in hopes of more Pentatonix reactions! 💖
More PTX, Sky, and let’s not wait for Christmas. Much love from South Africa. Subbed!
2:20. I hate religions/cults like Christianity and Islam, but I still feel this! Not because of the cult, but because of the performers!🌿🌸
First commandment in the Pentaholic ten commandments....YOU MUST USE HEADPHONES
Guess I break the First Commandment of Pentatonix. I don't use headphones because I am 100% Deaf in my right ear.
I know how to adapt to get the best experience for myself. Still I would get so many comments and demands about using headphones that I stopped recording and posting and just watch other reactors.
Pentaholics tend to be very supportive for everything else as Scott and Kevin ensure that they are promoting positive energy through their music.
It's out of season with Christmas now, but if you watch Kevin's arraignment of "O Come All Ye Faithfull" it will change your perspective.
Enjoy PTX, and their name comes from the pentatonic scale that is often used in Pop music.
Hi Sky!
Been a subscriber for a while and I’ve been waiting for you to jump into the PTX rabbit hole. SME is usually pretty ruthless with copyright, but I’m sure you can get around them. Check out the 90s Dance Medley, there are a few live performances, like the one from Hollywood Bowl, but the official video is so cool.
BTW, you really shouldn’t put a guy’s heart at risk with you in a dress like that. ❤
Yes! Now that I’ve been working with YT to unblock a ton of my videos I PLAN ON DOING MANY MORE FROM THEM! Their voices are so angelic!
@@SkyAndersonReacts Pentatonix loves CZcams reactions and reactors; they're well aware that reaction videos have helped to make them the success that they are today. Unfortunately, their copyrights are owned by their publisher, RCA, and RCA doesn't share their love of reaction videos. RCA is notorious for making copyright claims that get reaction videos taken down.
The claims all seem to be about the video, not the music, and there are several strategies people use to keep their reactions up. Some people only react to live performances. This works, but it's limiting. In general, Pentatonix is as good live as they are in their official releases, but that's musically; there are a few of their official videos that have important video effects that can't be duplicated live. The most obvious one is "Imagine," but several others spring to mind. Also, if you only react to live performances you can't react to any "Behind the Scenes" or "Making of" videos.
Another strategy is to pause the video frequently. This is probably a good idea (be sure to rewind a bit whenever you do this), but the definition of "frequent" is subjective so I don't recommend it as your only protection. What seems to work best is to slightly mask the video, combined with frequent pauses. Some people put a translucent "PENTATONIX" or "COPYRIGHT" over the video; others put what appears to be a window with raindrops on it over the video. Remember, the pentaholics are here to see your reaction, not the video - we've seen the video numerous times already. We only need to be able to see enough of it to be sure what exactly you're reacting to, in real time.
BTW, in an earlier comment I recommended "The Wizard of Ahhhs." From a reactor's viewpoint, one advantage of reacting to "Wizard of Ahhhs" is that its copyright ISN'T owned by RCA. "Wizard of Ahhhs" was a pet project of Todrick Hall; he owns the copyright. And Todrick seems to be more interested in publicity than in stomping all over innocent reactors. I have NEVER heard of a reaction to "Wizard of Ahhhs" being taken down due to a copyright claim. There's even one YT channel that simply posted the video, all on its own with no reaction or anything, but renamed it something like "Pentatonix - The Wizard of Ahhhs (featuring Todrick Hall)," and that's been up for years without so much as a peep from Todrick.
⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡
I would like to make a suggestion regarding future Pentatonix reactions. Take a look at their catalog (over 200) and pick out some songs you recognize and would like to hear the PTX version and put them on your "to react" playlist. Also pick out some songs where your reaction to the original was "meh", or even didn't like them, and put THEM on your playlist. You'll often find that PTX can make you like a song more than the original artist!
Please react to Theocracy " Twist f Fate " ! Thanks!
Love your take on this. There is a live version of this on CZcams also: czcams.com/video/haFHrfmfHbc/video.htmlsi=39ctLk0KD5xTBwsm

Well gosh that’s SOO sweet thank you soo very much!
Ptx does daft punk. Just sayin'...
No?! Are you serious?! This is a MUST!!
@@SkyAndersonReacts, indeed they do! They have an awesome medley of their pieces.
@@SkyAndersonReacts In fact, PTX does Daft Punk so well that the medley earned PTX their first (of 3, so far) Grammys!
@@SkyAndersonReacts Daft Punk
When you do "Daft Punk" set yourself up for a double. czcams.com/video/3MteSlpxCpo/video.html&pp=ygUUZGFmdCBwdW5rIHBlbnRhdG9uaXg%3D You will think that there is post production skipping, so to disprove that you need to catch the "Private Performance" czcams.com/video/tw4YCsHXKgI/video.html&pp=ygUUZGFmdCBwdW5rIHBlbnRhdG9uaXg%3D where they stand at the front of a back-stage room and sing with no mic's and captured on a fan mobile device so the sound is not 100% hence catch the official FIRST.
'Promo SM' 😁
It would be more respectful to have a correct thumbnail photo of PTX members for this song. You have one up from their "Come Along" cover with current bass Matt Sallee in the group. :This "Hallelujah" cover was done with previous bass Avi Kaplan, when he was in the group before. Where's Avi in the group picture? You/ might say you're a big fan of PTX, but I say bull crap Can't even get the group dynamics correct in your thumbnails. Lazy AF.
Lazy asf? Sorry honey I don’t have all the time in the world I work a regular full time job. YT is on the side. Not every reactor does this full time. I have to edit on the go. You apparently have more time than me to analyze my thumbnail 😂 Also I’m new to PTX how the F am I supposed to know. You can give advice without being rude.
Ruined by constant pauses
No emotion for me! Their producer pitch corrects virtually every note they sing so these studio tracks are cleansed of all humanity. Doesn't rev my engine whatsoever.
@philproffit83. Maybe you should attend car races instead of reaction videos. Maybe that will “rev” your engine.
@@chrispavlich9656 OK Mr Literal...I'll do what I please. Don't get bent if I don't like what you like...I'm happy they make music you're into. There's tons of singers and bands I'm into and nobody has to agree with my taste. I'm into original songs more than covers...and I have preferences over production methods. The market caters for everyone.
@@philproffitt8363 If you knew anything about them then you would know they do original music also. You’re not the only one with an opinion.
The producer barley pitch correction their vocals. Doesn’t need to. A lot of their music isn’t pitch correction. Some video are little pitch correction but overall almost all doesn’t use pitch correction, if they did then what the big deal. Every music that you like and listening to use pitch correction. They def don’t use pitch correction live. And guess what, they sound exactly the same and if not better live. Odd how that works. Guessing you saw a video of random dude use some graph to show they are using pitch correction. And guessing you take it as face value?
Troll alert!
