  • In his weekly clinical update, Dr. Griffin delves highly pathogenic H5N1 biology including its circulation in New York City, being able to infect cells within mammary glands and why testing is not supported before reviewing the recent statistics on SARS-CoV-2 infection, how vaccination reduced deaths and hospitalizations associated with COVID-19 and how to take off PPE to reduce virus transmission, discussing the guidelines for spring administration of COVID vaccines boosters, the emergency use application of a pre-exposure prophylactic, a drug interaction database and the global phase 3 trail of a novel antiviral, continues to dispel the myth of viral rebound, when to use steroids and the benefits of convalescent plasma, what do when healthcare workers succumb to SARS-CoV-2 infection, reminisces about when available monoclonal antibody therapies were effective, and discusses muscle training/exercise for treatment of PASC/long COVID and the use of RNase for its treatment. For more information about long COVID-19 listen to TWiV 1088.

I wish Vincent would hire someone to promote his channels. So much information but so few people see it.

The guy with HSV exposure should have run to his DR and got valcyclovir the very next day. Just like PEP for HIV.

The incidence of COVID-19 has started to increase in the UK. This can be seen in the level of wastewater and also hospital admissions.

When this bird flu got into cows, then it became mild or asymptomatic, which is great right? Because previously in birds, it’s highly pathogenic, a high mortality rate. I know there’s a few other mammals that got it and a handful of them had high virulence

Paxlovid isn’t being covered by some rx. Plans and the cash price is several 100 dollars-thousand dollars here.

Are there hospital rooms with securely openenable windows ? Are carbon dioxide levels ever tested? What is wrong with mask and headshield and photo of medical staff on a gown ? Are triage rooms in open but protected spaces ? .

  • @MNP208

I see outpatient nurses putting on gloves for every single patient. It’s getting ridiculous! We need some retraining. We should know better.

Bird flu fearporn is working for TWiV's paymasters: Shares of vaccine stocks Moderna, Novavax, and BioNTech rallied this week. While these three stocks gained notoriety back in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, it appears this week's detection of avian bird flu in a second U.S. citizen and the first-ever detection of avian flu in a human in Australia are spurring fears of an outbreak and thus a possible boon for companies that can quickly produce a bird flu vaccine.
