That was my deck lol...To be honest Simorgh is kind of an unwatchable deck unless it screws up, so it's not surprising we didn't see much of it on stream. You make two-three interruptions, sometimes floodgate Trap decks with Dark Simorgh, and sometimes you flip Harpie's Feather Storm, lol. Anyway in round one of top cut I just went second vs the person who'd win finals on Fur Hire with no interruptions and there was legit nothing I could do, it was just over, lol. Farfa didn't even bother to finish watching the game on stream and I can't blame him

Mask of Restrict is actually sick because it stops Kaijus and Kaiju-like cards from tributing over your unbreakable board. Genius.
As long as you have a quick effect card you can activate (to activate mask of restrict before they can Kaiju; you don't have to activate the quick effect, you just need it so you can activate mask of restrict ASAP).

Dude, you can just toggle Chain On and activate Mask of Restrict during Standby.
â@@velvetcheese9754I'm just talking from experience. I've been hit with a Kaiju card before I could activate my mask of restrict. I could be very stupid, but I'm pretty sure mask of restrict doesn't activate unless your opponent does something first, which could be kaiju
No you can activate it without your opponent or you doing anything
@@GyzelE Your opponent gets the first move at the start of Main phase 1, You would need to turn chain link to ON and use it during the draw or standby phase to prevent it

@@saifsolid679 idk any cards with no restrictions, block dragon fits your description pretty well tho, itâs restriction is needing 3 earths in grave and not many good earth decks are left, superheavy can turbo it out but now what rocks are you searching with block dragon since magnet warriors are banned? It also doesnât help that the link pool of cards is pretty limited, with perfect hands you could probably U link, but for 1 card combos that isnât happening, the best end board link monsters left are gryphon, firewall and tri gate, but tri gate would mean not being able to add 3 with firewall before resetting, the superheavys are also really easy to disrupt since they dont have any of the newer support, ogre on wagon or scarecrow ends the turn! Block is very fair and balanced when half the card pool is banned!

both naturia and fur hire are runic decks but one has incredible card advantage gameplay and can make multiple interactions while the other is naturia
The way that pure fur hire can rebuild the board from a single card after a wipe is one of the things that make it my favourite archetype.
I love this series so much, you can see so many different trategies in action!
yeah but that single card is legacy support, they live or die by 2 cards that they literally got recently, which is sad, same goes for Naturia and most other cases where legacy support revived any deck

Edit: OK I see the bystials just appeared for the first time but that doesn't examine why the other dragon goodstuff has lasted this long. Especially the pity, baby chaos dragons, REDMD, and chaos space
None of them are archetypes or are just good cards from bad archetypes
Ok as an insider I can explain some of them.
Block dragon : Farfa really likes block dragon to the point it isn't banned even after this episode. Which caused the LCS community to do #LockTheBlock and ALOT of block dragon decks pop up in the next lcs (this is like a week behind). It probably will be banned for the lcs after that
Bystial : They didn't pre ban bystials for some reason (Pre banning is something LCS does, it did it on tear). And caused some confusion in the LCS community. It's banned after this week
Knightmare : they're good but Farfa usually is looking at boss monsters, interruption on the opponent's turn or mass boardbreakers for the extra deck ban.
Dragonlink shenanigans : If a good stuff list tops they usually just ban 3-4 major cards from the list. For example in this one they hit chaos space, chaos rulers, heiratic seals, and white dragon colapserpant and the dark counterpart.
So alot of the time, a good bit of the list survives

It's because the War Rock decks that made top cut were against Fur Hire players, and Farfa wanted to show as little Fur Hire gameplay as possible

How does it play? The only ways I've been messing with the deck besides going pure are with good ol floo, tri-brig, and dragunity
@@dhanyl2725 It's a weaker version of Floo that can special summon.
@@sable8716 Without Barrier Statue in the format, it really doesn't play like Floo at all aside from normal summoning a few times and being able to flip Feather Storm to cheese games. Floo makes a big floodgate monster that shuts down monster effects and tributes your opponent's cards. Simorgh makes a spell/trap negate, targeted removal in response to a spell/trap, and Apex Avian. Then it hopes that the link making them untargetable is enough. It's still kind of a boring deck to watch because it's very all or nothing, so I'm not surprised it didn't get featured. (I'm the person who made it to top 16 on Simorgh this LCS.)

@@stev4v I wouldn't say there's no way to play it. The format is quite a bit weaker than TCG, and you can at least utilize generic plant support. It's not a great deck, but it can at least fairly consistently make an interruption or two and summon Cactus Bouncer to steal games. I don't think it'll be able to top until LCS 11 or 12, though. (I've been testing it in the Farfacord for a while)
Your big problem is just that you have a lot of trouble going second and that Ghost Ogre is an issue.

I can't help but notice that the archetype banlist at 0:35 doesn't include Kashtira. Is it just an unspoken rule not to use Kashtira since it's a meta deck? That would be weird, because there are other meta decks like Tearlaments and Runick that are explicitly banned on the list.
Kashtira isn't in Master Duel, so you couldn't play it even if you wanted to.
It's a Master Duel tournament, and uses the Master Duel card pool and banlist.

We can take this wonky, mess of a deck and do shit with it, even if it's mid as Hell.
Simorgh player here. I liked playing the deck but I just wanted to say, frankly, good riddance. This was my third LCS on it.
Basically here's the deal with Simorgh: It's a very all-or-nothing deck that either makes like 3 negates and sets Feather Storm, or it kinda dies. You're fairly vulnerable to a variety of disruption. Their main power play is that Onslaught + any Winged Beast is basically full combo. Naturally this means that outside the LCS they die instantly to Ash Blossom, but here they have a much bigger chance to succeed. The coolest thing about the deck is that they unironically play Cockadoodledoo. Anyway I didn't get many feature matches requested because the majority of Simorgh games are kinda boring, and then in finals I lost the coin flip vs Fur Hire with no interaction and, well, lol.
Anyway, boy, I sure am glad that we're never going to have to see Block Dragon in the LCS again! :)

I've been testing Raidraptor for a while, it's really tough to make work consistently. The problem is that every single card with Phantom Knight in the name is banned, so Raidraptors have almost no interaction. And going pure second is kind of tricky because there's no easy way to deal with getting floodgated, especially if your deck has to play RUMs that increase the chance of bricking. You're really vulnerable to disruption too. I think it still has a shot, though.
