OR you can use only jojoba for soaks and then add the other oils to use them as your daily oil to apply on your nails and skin around the nails after each hand wash.
Can you reuse oil? Please use your common sense. Pure jojoba is very heat stable and it does not go bad when heated. Other oils might not be as stable when heated.
If the oil smells off- throw it out. It doesn't have the benefits you are looking for.
Jojoba amzn.to/3y9qLcW
Avocado oil amzn.to/3MKG93F
Sweet almond oil amzn.to/3KGfTGn
Grapeseed oil amzn.to/3s9ut2y
The Ordinary Squalene amzn.to/3LHNWza
Proportions:
I like using jojoba as main oil and then I add approx. 25% of other oil/s.
I like to add oils rich in linoleic acid which are great for repairing skin barrier (oils like sunflower oil, safflower oil or grapeseed oil). These oils are also very light and won't feel greasy on the skin.
Avocado oil and sweet almond oil are a bit heavier but they are great for dry skin or in the winter.

How long to soak each hand please?
I love your content. I've had splitting nails for the past 5+ years. I've asked salon manicurists, a dermatologist and other doctors how to treat my nails. None of them knew or seemed to care. They were not the ones suffering with the pain when they tore. Again many, many thanks. Please keep up the good advice.
Have you followed the advice? If so, what are your nails like, now?
@@LaneyaWiles I had acryl nails for almost 5 years . One day I decided to take them out on my own . I watched some videos from other people on CZcams…. Total disaster.
My nails were damaged and also they heart me so much . The broke every day more and more .
Then I found this channel . With patience and following the instructions they look much much better and they got stronger . I started with oil soaking and dry manicure and I am really happy with the results.
The only thing I have to practice is to form my nails . I don’t trust my self and don’t feel confident to do alone . But at the same time I don’t trust anyone anymore .
Give it a chance and you’ll not regret it!
I really appreciate you explaining WHY you should and shouldn't do certain things. When I know the why, I'm always much more likely to actually stick to a routine !
What your advice did for my 73 years old nails, no doctor has done. I am more than thankful. Wish you and your team an amazing festive season and a great peaceful and graceful 24 for all of you and the entire world ❤, thank you
Thank you! You too!
I first watched this about 8 months ago. My nails had been terrible for about x3 years. Dry, flaking, peeling really badly, raised horizontal lines, a weird peach colour. I wore pale nail varnish to hide them. I put it down to health issues. After this video, I stopped wearing varnish & constantly rubbed Argon oil over my nails (and hands) especially while watching TV in the evening. After around x6 weeks, they started improving, so I filled them across with an emery. They grew again, a strong straight shape, the colour is normal, the ridges disappeared, they’re getting better and stronger all the time, I’m so happy! Thank you for all your good work! 😊
Thank you for sharing! :)
@Lola-yo may I ask you what you mean when you say 'varnish?' Is that different from polish? I think sometimes polish is also called Nail lacquer, is varnish just another word for it?🤔💜💜💜
@@RoseA.Dewine Yes, varnish is same as nail polish.
@@RoseA.Dewine It's called varnish in the UK
I really appreciate the advice you give based on actual expert advice and not just on anecdote, personal experience, zodiac signs, personal whims, and sponsorships. Very refreshing in this mad CZcams world.
exactly! I ❤ evidence
Anna is one of the most, if not the most knowledgeable person in the nail industry! Thank you for all of your advice, it is superb to have you and knowing that you respond to our needs! X
Thank you so much Lara!! 🤗
Thank you Anna, having had dry, brittle and peeling nails for most of my life they finally look more than presentable thanks to you advice, Weekly oiltreatments and using oil after every handwash has transformed my nails! I don't expect them to ever grow strong, and thick but at least they look and feel good. I even think the ridges are slightly less prominent. I cannot thank you enough.
Oils have done wonders for my nails, I have managed to grow them so long and strong. I use oil every day and sometimes do overnight treatment with gloves. I mix jojoba and vit E.
It’s an oily life!! I mix oils for hot oil on my hair/scalp and now I’ll start hot oiling my nails, too❣️❣️
Thanks for making this video and keeping it so informative and scientifically accurate!
ALL THE LOVE!! I'm reviewing this video as I need some warm oil for these nails and knew just where to come. My hands and nails have been transformed after following your thoughtful advice and I am part of an international community of Anna and MSL fans forever!
I just found your channel and will be doing this treatment asap! I have always wanted nice nails but never knew where to start. Thank you for all of the advice!
Wow! This is a game-changer! Thanks so much!
Loooove this! I will def be adding this into my weekly routine now. I have been using oils and creams daily, as you have suggested with my nails, and can't wait to show you the result.
I just discovered your channel yesterday and find you super informative. I tried doing my own polygel nails at home recently, and got very over zealous with an e-drill on my cuticles and I'm sure you can imagine what some of my nails look like now that they're growing out a bit. Your tips are going to come in very handy as I try to grow out the damage I managed to do to my nails. I WILL be giving my natural nails a break for sure! Thank you so much for sharing this info and I will be going thru your other videos for more tips and info. Definitely got a new subscriber. :) Thanks again and keep up the great work!
I can't wait to try this - so easy and so soothing.
Doing my first oil treatment while watching this video. Thank you so much for showing us how to do one. My nails have never looked better since finding your Channel 😊
I’ll be doing this tonight and making it a weekly treat! Thank you Anna. 🥰Diana
I am so glad I came across your channel! I actually started using oil on my nails somewhat recently as I came to the epiphany on my own that it would improve the health of my nails. It’s already made a big difference and I can’t wait to start implementing some of your advice!
This is very helpful. You give such complete, understandable instructions. Thank you for doing this.
Hi Anna, your content just keeps getting better and better. Like so many others, I'm learning a lot from you and am taking better, safer care of my nails and hands.
Hi Cat! So happy to hear this! Thank you! You made my day! ❤️
@@TheSalonLife Hi Anna. I would like to ask you something. If I am doing shellac, how many days prior should I cure my nails with the hot oil treatment before applying shellac?
Hello Katinka. I would say you can remove Shellac, do warm oil soak and then re-polish the next day :)
@@TheSalonLife Thanks a lot, Anna!
I was so glad to have found your channel a few years ago. The information that you share and teach is information that I have learned over the last 20 years of doing my own nails. All the youtube channels and some websites I had found (until I found yours), even with certified nail techs and nail instructors, give wrong information. There is one site that parrots Doug Schoon's info as their own to sell their product, and then puts a tiny byline somewhere. Also, a recent video from a well-loved nail instructor on youtube shocked me because I thought she was on the up and up for the most part. All that to say I truly appreciate your passion, the research you do, and the care you take to inform and avoid misinforming. It is really nice to know that I can rely on the 'new to me' information you share as being correct and not harmful in any way. Thank you so much for that!
so interesting! Thank you for all your good advice, very competent and easy unterstandable! And I loved seeing the bloopers, too 😂😘
Hello Anna, So glad to have found your channel. I have ugly hands and using your instructions on how to care for your nails has made a huge difference, thank you so much for all of your information!!!!
Your info is excellent. Thank you for giving me the knowledge to look after my nails properly. I'm finding it very relaxing to fiddle with them at night while watching TV. Before I just cut them as short as possible because they just constantly broke, it made it easier in my every day life to do that. Now they feel much better and I have the confidence to be proud of them.
I’ve just discovered your channel in the past week and I’m absolutely amazed by everything. I actually studied beauty therapy many years ago (though I didn’t pursue that) learning about the anatomy of the nails, amongst other things, and I still didn’t know the difference between the PNF and the cuticle. My mind is blown.
I’ve just started following your advice for peeling nails and general care and they’re looking so much better already. Thank you!!
Very interesting information. I plan on doing a treatment today.
OMG I'm so glad to have come across your site, ! I'm going to take your advice for brittle nails and do the oil treatments, thank you so much !!
Thank you are the first person to explain this and I have done a nail course!
I've been using oils for awhile, but it was one of your videos about Mavala hardener that was the most helpful. My nails don't peel now when I wear polish. Thank you for such a great breakdown of the science behind nails.
Thank you so very much Anna for this video. I'm pretty new to watching your channel but I have been binge watching you for the last week and have been treating my PNF with the care she deserves!
It took me a while to find this video with the directions for the warm oil soak but the quest was worthwhile. Your information is top notch and your teaching style is infectious. Thanks for your hard work.
Hi Anna, Your content is very appreciated. I have followed your recommendations for dry, brittle nails with ridges as well as the "correct" way to treat my cuticles (no more cutting my skin). My nails already show great improvement. Thank you
Thank you! So helpful. I felt so alone with my brittle peeling nails for SO long and now I find so many others have the same problem! So helpful you are both educating us on the real problems with real solutions. This all explains why I could get some benefit from nail strengtheners from June and Olive or NailTech…then end up worse than when I started with low, low horizontal cracks. I was over hardening without adding in the flexibility. I am currently in a long term treatment phase, based on all your recommendations, but I still plan to send in my pics soon for evaluation..! Thanks Anna, -Jenny
Thank you for this recipe. I am on it. I did softly glass file the pointer finger lateral nail fold. Appreciate the tip.
I am so glad that I found your channel! This is exactly what I need! I am a new subscriber and I look forward to more of your insightful videos! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much Linda! Welcome ❤️
I have had splitting, peeling, terrible nails for probably the past 10 years. I’ve been piling the skin & cuticle nightly, but will take this weekend to give them a break from polish and do the warm oil treatments. Such a wealth of natural nail care, thank you!
Omg, where have you been all my nail life 😅. The education behind the action!!! I love CZcamsrs that I can trust. Thank you for sharing the back up to your tips. Trying this for my thin, bending nails. Just bought an essie nail hardener after talking with my doctor, improving my nutrition, protein intake and not seeing much results.
Love the outtakes!
Thank you so very much you have helped my lifelong nail problems.
How much I learned watching your manicure and listening to your advice. Thank you so much!🙋♀️🌹❤️
I’m so glad that I found your content…. I have learned a lot about nails after watching you work. I am going to do this warm oil soak next manicure at home. Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Thank you for this info. I will certainly be doing this.
Thank you! Very informative. I learned much.
I appreciate all that you do for us Anna! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Keisha! ❤️
Thank you so much for the advice. I will let you know how it goes.
Thank you for this 🤗 I've done the warm oil twice now and will honestly say it has made quite a significant difference to my peeling nails. I was shocked to see improvement after one treatment - I used olive & grapeseed oil as it was what I have on hand.
I'm going to start doing this for my brittle nails and stop wasting money on nail strengtheners. Thank you so much for your informative videos. I love them all.
Thank your for teaching us ❣ I never would have considered that my nails could be dry 😅 They've gotten so much better since I started the oil treatment 😍
Perfectly timed advice! Thanks 😊
You’re welcome ❤️
You suggested I watch this as a reply to my comment on another of your videos. I’m new to you & so glad to suggested this! I’m a new fan. Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you!
Omg I'm glad I found this channel, I have been biting my nails for years; I stopped at 8th or 9th grade. But I never liked those Acrylic nails, tried them 2 or 3 times in my life and i saw that they just made my nails worse. Fast forward to a job I used to be at for 7 yrs and wow they are weak and brittle and bendy. At that job was required to wash hands constantly and I wasn't allowed to wear anything on them. I resigned 7 years after and I'm glad that in my current job I can wear polish. Been looking for ways to heal them up and this is what I want. Good nail data and they can be pretty!!
Hi Anna, I just received my jojoba oil and will start doing the warm oil soaks on the weekends, will keep you posted, thank you for your videos and advise 🩷
I have been watching your videos recently; first time commenter. I used to do my nails weekly but have not really cared for my nails like I used to. Now after listening to your advice, I stopped cutting what I thought were my cuticles and have been applying oil and cream with urea religiously and caring an orange stick in my handbag 🙂
Thank you so much, Anna!! You have shown me the importance of investing in oneself. Now I will try warm oil treatments, too.
I just found you two days ago after I purchased Blue Cross cuticle remover-so I broused you tube to learn more about it. I have learned an enourmous amount education listenting to your explanations and tips. Thank You so much.
OH MY GOODNESS! What great information. I appreciate the useful information. The contnent on your channel get better and better all the time Anna.
Thank you kindly Karen! I’m really enjoying creating this content so I’m so happy that people are interested and it’s helpful! ❤️
Thank you so much for your knowledge on nail care! I often times feel crazy because I won’t do acrylics, gels, or dips. It’s so hard not to.
I really appreciate your detailed explanations! Thanks Anna
Thank you Vicky! I'm so glad my video helped :))
Love jojoba oil and I never thought about warming it up. Thanks for the great advice Anna! 🌹
Love your channel!
Hi Anna, thanks for all this info, I’ve always had weak, brittle, peeling nails. For the last few years I’ve done no chips, which has allowed my nails to grow.. but without the no chip, same weak nails.. I’m going to give them a break.. using your advice 🤞
Thank you so much for this information. My nails are thin and dry and prone to vertical splitting. Glad I found your channel! Will definitely try the oil soak. I'm finding drugstore emory boards too coarse and rough for fragile nails. Could you discuss/recommend filing products for different nail types? Or if you have already done so direct me to the video?
Dear Dear Anna, Thank you for your dedication to nail care and all your patient explanations. I found you after I removed one too many gel polishes. My nail were thin and peeling. I had a bottle of China Glaze cuticle oil and have used it for about 2 months now and my nail are almost fully grown out from the damage, my splitting issues seem resolved too. The process is slow but that is the reality of recovery from the damage - as you say. I think that they are looking really good and they seem stronger than ever! I followed your instruction to use cuticle oil after washing - all day and before bed. I have done the warm oil treatment - that felt Soo good! I've kept my nails trimmed short as you recommended in one of your videos. I am thrilled that my nails are looking and feeling so good! I'm in BC, Canada, and can find some of the products you recommend - I tried CND Rescue Rxx and I seemed to have a reaction as my hands got wildly itchy. The CND Solar oil seems ok. I took off the last gel polish myself with the CND remover and special pads. I plan to get another gel mani when I go away for several weeks, as they do last long and I will get it removed without getting another one for a long time. In the past I have gotten manis with regular polish from time to time but mainly I have natural nails. Thank you so much for all your great information to help us have healthy nails!
Thanks. I’ll get a mixture of this going for my daughter. Nice present to give to friends too ♥️🇮🇪
Yeah, that’s a great idea, thanks for sharing 😊
Hi Anna
Thanks for this video. It's very informative I will try this method on my brittle nails. I did shellac too many times and it ruined my nails.
I’ve just recently started watching your channel, mainly because I’m now using Dazzle Dry polish system. I love it! And love all your advice on your videos. Since I’ve come to trust your advice, I decided to watch this video on the nail care for brittle nails. My nails crack right in the corners and tear off very easy. The Dazzle Dry has helped, but I wanted to get to the “root” of the problem. I’ll reply back with the results after using these oils for a few months.
Thank you for all the education and information about the products you use/love/don't love. LOVE IT
Thank you kindly for your channel support :)) ❤️
Great advise excelllent content. I have done a course on manicure and know how to do nails but am not working as manicurist. However no one taught me how to take care of the nails so i love what i am learning from you now❤❤❤
I’m glad I found you!!! Thank you for the tips. I have dishydrotic eczema on my hands and that has ruined my nails and cuticles. Now I can do my own manicure 😊 Thank you so much!!!❤❤❤
After weekly oil soaks (4 weeks) my nails have stopped peeling!
Hi Anna, thank you for this information! I think I will rub the leftover oil into my feet and hands. No waste, triple benefit from one recipe.
Jojoba molecules are the smallest of any oil (it's technically an ester, yes). This is why it's great for the nails, the molecules can fit the deepest between the "shingles." A few years back there was a shortage so I switched to fractonated coconut oil for giving massage, which is now commonly available in any food store as "MCT Oil." This has molecules nearly as small as jojoba so it's also very light and absorbs well (doesn't leave clients greasy). Both are extremely non-irritating to the skin for most people. Oils that are thicker -- for instance, castor oil is one of the thickest oils -- have the largest molecules.
Personally that's why I just use straight jojoba for my nails, because I figure getting it in deeply is the whole point.
Do you think castor oil isn’t good for them then?
Good to know this. Thanks!
@@RachelDaSilvaMy grandmother swore by it for a makeup remover. It's amazing for the skin. It probably soaks into the skin around your nails, which protects your nails, and provides a barrier from water, water dries out your nails. So it's still good.
I use Jojoba or argan. I've tried several as cuticle oils. Those two Soak into my nails the fastest. Sweet almond oil seemed to sit on top and not absorb well.
Brilliant little video, thank you
I have very strong not very flexible nails so oil is their best friend. Happily watching your video proves I'm doing the treatment right 😊
Thank you Jo! Always good to hear from you 😘
Great info. Thank you!!!
O gosh yes I have been doing this and it feels great and my nails love it. Recently discovered sugar scrub for my hands and cuticle 🎉. Your channel is very interesting 😊
Hi! I just found you and watched a few of your videos. I am going to try the warm oil soaks! Thank you for being a nail saver. I had uv gel nails that left my natural nails very weak, thin and breaking almost down to the nail bed. ❤️😊
After seeing this video a month ago, I started doing the warm oil soak every Saturday and it's helped quite a bit with the peeling and cracking. They look pretty darn good bare, too!
I have my own cuticle/hot oil mix, 2:1 jojoba to Vitamin E. Vitamin E helps with both hydration and reducing nail yellowing from frequent polishing. It's also an anti-oxidant, so it protects nails from free-radical damage. So with the jojoba, it's like a 1-2 punch to keep nails healthy and strong. My nails and cuticles look and feel so much better now that I'm using oil more effectively on them.
I don't think vitamin e reduces yellowing
I don't think bit E reduces yellowing either but being antioxidant kind of would makes sense. Many carrier oils contain vitamin E. Jojoba is naturally rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants.
@@TheSalonLife I always use jojba and vitamin e oil on my oil I use daily
Such useful information! I appreciate the explanation as to how the oil actually works to improve the nail. Thank you for all the time you have spent on these videos. Love your accent too! 💕
You are very welcome :) thank you for your comment :)
Thank you! My nails aren't terrible but they do occasionally split and peel a little, especially on my dominant hand. I already go without polish much of the time and use creams and cuticle ointments several times daily, yet they're still not perfect. (If there is such a thing.) I will add weekly warm oil soaks and see if there's improvement.
❤ I also noticed from using castor oil for my hair, it’s been making my nails really strong and long. 😊
Thank you for this! My nails suffer from peeling and hope this is the fix :)
Wish you were my nail lady! Hehe 😊 thank you so much for this helpful video!
Thank you for this useful information ❤
I have been doing oil treatment on my nails since I was 16 years old with very good results and I use olive oil.
Well, that was interesting. And the end was fun to see.
I’ve been gnawing on my cuticles for years, but since I’ve discovered your channel I’m improving this habit. I’ve noticed that I’m tempted when I’m anxious. Anyway, I’m Paying Attention to it, now! Thank you 🙏

Hi Anna, just found your channel and love it. Particularly interested in the warm oil treatment as I am really struggling with splitting nails and dry skin around the nails since COVID and all the hand washing we had to do it really took it out on my nails. One thing I need to ask is how much vitamin E would you use in say 100/150 of Jojoba oil? Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
You are simply the best! Thank you
Thank you kindly M!❤️
Thank you for another fabulous video
Thank you kindly for your comment!❤️
New sub. here after getting a solution to my nails after struggling for some months now
Can't wait to go home and do this❤
Just discovering your channel. Great information you have on nail care! Have you had any issues doing this treatment with enhancements on?
Ooohhhh I didnt see this before, I saw some other video where you said to use oil after handwashing and for the past 2 weeks I have been using the sally hansen and Essie nail and cuticle oil everyday (like I basically carry it with me lol) and my nails look and feel much better. Now I am going to implement this step, I am so sure that they would look gorgeous by the end of another two weeks. Thank you thank you thank youuuuuuuuuu 💖💖💖
I love your channel as I have learned so much! I just ordered the oils for the nail soaking. I just got some other oil to apply to my nails at night and I purchased the soap you said was not drying to hands. I was concerned since I wear contacts and I definitely don’t want oily hands to insert them, but I love this soap! It has a slight oily feel when applied but when you are rinsing they don’t feel oily but they also don’t feel dry! I think I am on the road to better nails! ❤
@suecone2198 what soap was recommended?!
I slather the oil on then put hands in baggies then fold a hot pad over. The treatment really helps !
Hi Anna I just stumbled across your channel about a week ago and I must say you are very informative I cannot find any other videos like yours out there every time I look up how to take care of nails how to treat thin splitting feeling nails it really isn't anyone this kind of information so my question is I starting to grow my nails out again I don't wear acrylics I stopped wearing polish a couple years ago because I was doing at home treatments on my nails to get him to grow long and they were doing fabulous but then I neglected them and they start appealing and splitting and cracking and no more beautiful long nails okay they're short right now I just filed them the other day I went and bought those gel nail strips because I wanted to put something on my nails that just keep on my nails to make my nails look pretty and try to get them back to the state they were I'm not good at polishing my nails polish is always chip on me so I didn't want to buy any polishes so I invested in the gel nail strips by diva would it be okay that I use that and then take them off at the end of a two week period and do the oil treatment ?
Love your advice, my nails have been improving with the gentle pushing of the cuticle, the Kersal and the jojoba oil after washing my hands. My nails have gotten very dry and ridged (post menopausal). Sticking with these routines has helped in a short amount of time! Thank you
Hello @tab5567, what is the "kersal" you mention in your comment?
Ok, here goes, I'll be following your methods to restore my nails . Sooo glad I canceled the acrylic appointment and discovered you. Thank you for sharing a comprehensive guide. (US follower) Check back to you later with my 'new' nails.
You are very welcome! Please take before pictures! It's so gratifying to see progress!!
Excellent info.
