Own ship’s course 000°speed 15kts. At 2000H, two targets are observed on your radar screen. Target “A” is observed bearing 310° distance 8 miles. Target “B” bears 060° at a distance of 8 miles. At 2006H target “A” bears 308°at a distance of 7 miles and target “B” is observe at bearing 060° distance at 7 miles.
Required:
a. Target “A” course a. Target “B” course
b. Target “A” speed b. Target “B” speed
c. Direction of relative movement for target “A” c. Direction of relative movement for target B
d. Speed of relative movement d. Speed of relative movement
When target “B” is at 3 miles distance from your vessel, you decided to alter course to starboard in order for target “B” to pass at 1.5 miles on your port side.
Required:
e. Find the new course of own ship
f. Find the new direction of relative movement of target “B”
g. Find the new direction of relative movement of target “A”
h. Find the distance when target “B” crosses the bow
i. Find the time when target “B” crosses the bow
